I’m so excited about all of the new diecuts from this release and I can’t wait to share a sneak peek of my journal with you. For this project I used the Folio Journal Diecut and the flowers from the Folio Page Pocket and Flower Thinlits to create the cover.

I cut the journal from an extra thick file folder (love the floral design on the folder).

I cut two covers from the diecut and adhered the spine together.

I used an assortment of ephemera, craft supplies from my craft room (it’s a no spend month until my husband goes back to work) and the flowers thinlits from the Folio Page Pocket and Flower Thinlits to decorate the cover of the journal. Later this month I will share the inside of the journal so be sure to stop back by!

Be sure to stop by the other team members blogs to see what they have created and comment on each blog for a changes to win the newest Chapter One Diecuts by Eileen Hull!

  1. That file folder is gorgeous Tonya- great idea to try die cutting that. It looks amazing as does all of your pretty bits and pieces you added. Can’t wait to see what’s inside! Thanks for hopping with us πŸ˜‰

  2. I love everything that is happening on your cover and cannot wait to see what you do inside. Looking forward to the live and getting these dies.

  3. Hi Tonja-I absolutely love your album and I really like your closure. Do you rememeber what parts you used to tie the ribbons in? I totally understand that no spending month. I am in the same situation. I have to pay for my mum`s funeral and therefore won`t be able to buy craft items in the next few months. But when you`re creative you can always make nice things you have in your stash. And I`m glad to own quite a few of Eileen`s great scoreboard dies. Though it`s REALLY hard to resit ordering the folio die—-

    1. Sandra I’m so sorry for you loss. I used clasps that I had purchased from Stampin’ Up years ago. I think you can find something similar in the framing department for photos…there are photo hanging kits. Thanks so much!

  4. Tonya I love your choice of file folder for this beautiful journal cover and adore the elements you’ve chosen to layer together on the front including that bird. So good to see you are recovering xxx

  5. I love the way you layer girl – the cover rocks!! Fabulous Folio and it was so nice to see you on the LIVE. Feel better!

  6. All things bright and beautiful, Tonya! I love how you used the file folder with this wonderful die, it’s so cheery, also all your layering and embellishments just make it. Can’t wait to see inside! Helen x

  7. Oh my word, bright, beautiful, and just stunning!!!… thank you the fabulous inspiration, I especially love the way you have hung the tassel! And the closure is just gorgeous.

  8. Sumptuous! I adore the bird and charms and every other beautiful part of your creation, Tonya. What are those intriguing metal closures?? Thanks!
