Sweet Lemons Card Case

Hi everyone! I’m back today with a cheery project I created using the Card Case Diecut by Eileen Hull. There’s an endless sort of creative possibilities with this diecut…which I love. But I just stuck to the basic design (nothing elaborate unlike some projects…wink wink) and created a case to hold tags so let’s get started!

First, I applied Adhesive Sheets to both sides of the Mat Board, cut to fit patterned cardstock and placed onto both sides of the mat board. Placed the mat board onto the Card Case Diecut and sandwiched in-between cutting plates before running through the Diecut Machine.

Here’s a little tip when using mat board or even chip board incase you need to glue pockets or the spine together using Eileen’s dies. You can “peel” the mat board/chip board to get a thinner flap or spine which in turn will lay flush when all is put together.

I adhered the pockets to either side of the case before gluing the spine together.

I had a sheet of cut a parts that I punched a hole in the top of each tag, lightly decorated with embellishments and tying together with cording.

I decorated each pocket with a bit of lace and an embellishment and placed the tags in each pocket.

I embossed a piece of black mat board with the Crochet Mandala Embossing Folder. I double a piece of cording and glued the embossed mat board over the piece of cording. I cut a couple of the perforated tickets with the Mini Slimline Tickets Thinlits, embossed with Crochet Mandala Embossing Folder and lightly inked with chalk ink before adhering to the cover along with lace and a scrap piece of patterned cardstock. I finished the cover off by adding a few sequins and chipboard pieces from the Lemon Twist Chipboard Stickers. I also added mini gems to the center of each flower of one of the chipboard pieces.

The cording I measured about three inches from the end of the cording and strung three beads. I tied a knot in the end to keep them in place. I wrapped the cording around the case and looped the end with the beads under the cording to keep it closed.

Evening Dress Journal

Hi everyone! I’m back with a project I created for Eileen Hull. I used the Frame Pocket Journal Diecut to create this journal. So let’s get started!

A little back story on this project, I had only enough patterned cardstock to create the cover…front/back and insides of both halves of the covers. I kept on telling myself be sure to place both the right side up so your covers aren’t opposite each other. Guess what I did? I placed and cut them wrong so I had the inside cover on the outside and the outside cover inside for the journal.

I didn’t want to waste the Mat Board, Adhesive Sheets and patterned cardstock. I had just enough leftover patterned cardstock to recover one of the covers. So I cut the spine down to one signature, adhered one flap on top of the other flap and once dry I punched holes at both ends of the spine. I ran elastic cording through the holes and tied off inside of the journal.

I dug into my stash of chipboard pieces, buttons, trim, fussy cut the evening gown from cardstock and glued everything to the cover.

The notebook for the inside of the journal I took one personal size travelers notebook and cut off the bottom half of the notebook to make it fit. I embossed a piece of cardstock, from the Essentials Cardstock Collection, with the 3D Tablecloth Embossing Folder. I cut the embossed piece to fit the cover of the notebook and adhered to the front.

I used the leftover scrap of patterned cardstock from covering the cover of the journal, another fussy cut evening gown and frame chipboard piece to decorate the cover of the notebook.

I placed the notebook inside the journal and called it finished!

A Beary Merry Christmas Cork Journal

Hi everyone! I’m super excited to share this project with y’all. Eileen Hull’s teams were sent a package of Surfaces Cork Roll from Sizzix to create something using Eileen’s dies, thinlits and embossing folders. I used the Notepad Diecut, Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits, the label from the Card Caddy Diecut and the hinge from the Treasure Box Diecut (retired) along with some other thinlits and embossing folders from Olivia Rose and Tim Holtz. Let’s get started!

First, I gathered up all my supplies before starting.

I applied Adhesive Sheets to both side of a piece of Mat Board, cut the cork and a piece of cardstock to fit the mat board. Next I placed the diecut onto the mat board and run through the Diecut Machine. I cut the cover twice.

I placed the journal cover into the 3D Tree Rings Embossing Folder but could not get it to run through the diecut machine, which sent me into a mini panic. But after much tinkering I used two sets of cutting plates and a crease pad to emboss both covers.

I peeled the cork and mat board away from one of the tabs on the spine.

This will make the spine have a “flat” look once it is glued together.

I used a combination of chalk inks on the cover and I also applied with my finger Rose Gold Luster Wax in random spots.

I picked three different shades of green from the Surfacez Eclectic Color Collection and cut three wreaths from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits. I cut two “open” and wove them through the wreath that I didn’t cut and adhered to the cover.

From the same paper collection I cut out all the parts for the bear from the Doodle Christmas Thinlits and used a combo of adhesive sheets and adhesive to piece together.

I lightly inked over parts of the bear and adhered to the cover.

I punched two holes in the top and bottom of the spine with a Crop-A-Dile and set eyelets into each hole before stringing elastic cording through the holes and tying off.

I covered with cardstock a label from the Card Caddy Diecut and the hinge from the Treasure Box Diecut and adhered on top of each other before gluing to the spine.

For the booklets inside the journal I had an A6 plain planner notebook but it was too tall. No problem!

I measured and cut the notebook in half (2 7/8″) and I also added a bit of glue to the stitches on each end of each book to keep it from coming undone.

I covered each book with a festive Christmas cardstock and added a present and a tree from the Doodle Christmas Thinlits and seals from the Prize Ribbons Diecut (retired) onto each book.

I’m not sure if I’ll make a December Daily out of this or use as glue book? What would you use it as?

Here’s the “Skinny” on Eileen Hull’s Chapter Three Release

“I am so excited to share Eileen Hull’s Chapter 3 Sizzix die collection! Each piece in the set stands alone but also coordinates with the others to make a truly versatile and valuable addition to your collection.

The Card Caddy Diecut can hold cards or can be turned into a unique journal. I love the shape of this box and it goes together so quickly- also fun to decorate! It will hold cards up to 5 1/4″ wide.

The ScoreBoards Skinny Mini Book Box is a really great size- it measures 6 3/4″ x 4″ with an adjustable built in spine from 3/8″ to 2 1/4″. This die may be used to create a book by die cutting two covers OR a box if you add the side pieces to the covers. If you add the box supports, it will hold mini-slimline size cards.

The Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits will cut a cool star pattern that perfectly covers the front of the Skinny Mini book or the front of a slimline card. And you can also expand the size of the design to create a whole page pattern.

The 3D folder is called Woven Leather and it looks so realistic! Makes a great background for cards, journal pages or covers.

Below I’m sharing a sneak peek of my upcoming project with the complete reveal later on in the month. Can you tell what was used from the Chapter 3 release?

The Inspiration and Educator teams has been busy creating lots of samples so please make sure to read the Eileen Hull’s blog (which you can find HERE) and be watching social media to see their makes!

Also there will be prizes! Make sure to post your answer in the comments on the Facebook/YouTube live. Are you ready? Here’s the question: “Which is your favorite Ch. 3 die and what would you make with it?” Be specific- inquiring minds want to know!

Beach Vacation Folio Journal

Hi everyone! This month Eileen Hull’s teams are sharing travel theme projects and since I have an upcoming beach vacation I thought I would get a head start and put together a quick journal using the Folio Journal Diecut. So let’s get started!

First, I placed a sheet of patterned cardstock onto the diecut and ran through the Diecut Machine. I scored over the fold lines again so I would get a crisp fold and then I adhered a coordinating patterned cardstock to the inside .

I cut out three of the box tabs (not really sure what to call them?) from the Folio Journal Diecut, adhered the flaps of each tab to the inside of the middle of the journal and one to the top page of the journal. The “extra” flap I folded and glued down on each tab.

The top page of the journal I added a journaling card to the tab, adhered a piece of patterned cardstock to create a small pocket under the card and added a couple of journaling cards to the pocket.

The center page I added a journaling card and patterned cardstock to each of the tabs.

I might add more flaps and journaling cards later or a photo or two to the center of the page…depending on how this trip goes.

I only strung one piece of elastic in the spine and cut three pieces of cardstock and placed under the elastic. I didn’t sew the cardstock together in case I want to add more pages.

I decorated the outside with an assortment of of stickers, chipboard pieces, ric rac, seashell brad and a vacation cut a part that I stamped the word “beach” onto. I’ll come back later and add the name of the beach once the trip is over. I learned the hard way when I had a past vacation canceled because of a hurricane. I also added a couple of charms to finish…for now. I’m sure I will add more embellishments once my trip has come to past.

Little Home Mini Album

Hi everyone! I’m back with a quick little little album I created a couple of months ago. I had received the Shadow Box Frames Set 2 Thinlits and if you know me I can’t just make what the dies are intended to be used for. When I created this I didn’t do any step out photos because I wasn’t even sure I could make it work. I did create another album with steps last month. If you would like to take a look at that post it can be found HERE.

I used the Carousel 6″x8″ Paper Pad for the cover. As well as some of the scraps from this pad where used for the inside pages and embellishments.

I cut out four of the smaller “frames”, folded the flaps (to the inside) and glued both flaps together to create a pocket for the front and back of the cover. The larger flaps I glued together to create the spine for the mini album. I punched holes, added eyelets and strung elastic cording through the holes and tied off inside.

I decorated the cover with and assortment of thinlits and one diecut which included: Shadow Box Elements, Snail Mail, Folio Page, Pocket and Flowers and Scallop Border Movers and Shapers Diecut (retired). Also I used the scalloped die to create the “roof” for the cover of the album. I side note I did cut out several houses, flowers, vines and leaves from all the little bits of scraps of cardstock I had laying around. I figured if I didn’t use it all on this project I would eventually use it on something else.

I did cut out two tags for each cover pocket. I added a Tag reinforcer (Waterfall Card and Tag Thinlits) to the top each tag along with a bit of seam binding.

The inside pages I cut and placed under the elastic cording and proceeded to decorate with the extra houses, flowers, leaves, etc, thinlits that I had cut out a head of time.

I forgot to added I also cut several leaf sprigs from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and used through album.

If you haven’t checked out Eileen Hull’s blog lately, the theme this month is all about using those little scraps of cardstock! You can find those posts HERE, HERE and HERE.

Love Postage Stamp Junk Journal Page

Hi everyone and Happy Valentine’s Day! I wanted to hop on and share a quick little junk journal page I created using leftover scraps, bits and pieces of ephemera and a printable girl that is from itKuPiLLiimaginarium. You can find the printable HERE.

I find this is a great way to use up what is laying on my desk and pushes me to get creating in the process. I love how I was able to incorporate a used postage stamp in the layout too. The “Be Mine” tag was from a swap several years ago and is a perfect place for the little girl to “sit”.

I’m slowly adding pages as I can to my junk journal. I shared pages last year on the blog and I had hoped to have the journal filled by now, but…you know…life happens. So maybe this year I’ll get it filled?

Favorite Eileen Hull Projects of 2021 Roundup

Hi everyone! It’s that time of year when Eileen Hull’s Inspiration and Educator Teams share their favorite projects that they have created for the year. I choose three of my all time favorites.

The first one is the Condensed Snowflake December Daily The journal is “condensed” and created with the Full Size Journal Diecut. By the way, I need to start filling the pages with all things Christmas so I can share with y’all!

The second project is Just Trucking’ Along! Truck. If you know me I love adding my own spin on anything I create. I used the Vintage Truck Diecut and the 3D Camper Diecut to make the truck 3D.

The third and final project that I had so much fun with is the Reminisce Tiny Book. The twist with this project I “extended” the spine of the Tiny Book Diecut.

Be sure to stop by Eileen Hull’s blog to see the teams favorite projects of the year. You can find the latest posts HERE.

Condensed Snowflake December Daily Journal Reveal

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with the full reveal of my December Daily using Eileen Hull’s Full Size Journal Diecut. My motto it’s never to early to start working on a Christmas project…it’s my favorite time of year. So let’s get started!

All I had was the 6″x13″ Mat Board so I decided I would create a traveler’s notebook since I had notebooks on hand. Well, after applying Adhesive Sheets to both sides of the mat board and file folders to either side I cut two covers. One was a little off so I was going to even it up with my Paper Cutter…the cover slipped so I wound up cut both sides down to 3 1/2″ wide. Before adhesive the spine together I “peeled” one of the indented pieces of the spine off so the spine would be flat.

I cut a piece of polka dotted cardstock and adhered to the cover. Next I cut the circle from the Ornament Box Diecut and snowflake from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and glued to the bottom corner of the journal.

I dressed up the snowflake with a mini snowflake ornament (I cut the hanger off), sequins, round and snowflakes, flatback pearls and the edges of the front and back covers I adhered Pom Pom Trim and gold Ric Rac.

Next I set eyelets in each hole before stringing elastic inside the journal and cut and placed cut patterned cardstock, notebook, accounting and dotted papers to create the inside signature.

I will probably add more pages to it later as I go but for now it is finished. Be sure to stop by Eileen Hull’s blog to check the latest creation from the Inspiration and Educator Teams. You can find those posts HERE and HERE.

If you have any questions about this project let me know.

Lets Party with Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 Release!

Hi everyone! Today is the day! The Chapter 4 Sizzix Release is exciting for so many reasons- there are two never-done-before designs! One is the Full Size Journal which is a Bigz Pro size- you will need a machine with at least a 9″ throat to cut this die- like a Big Shot Plus or Pro. Not to worry- if you don’t have that machine, Eileen will have the pre-cut pieces available in her Etsy store for you to work with. The other new technology is a 3D Embossing Folder! It’s called Sweater and is oh so cozy. Also new this release is a Bigz Notepad die with lots of options for materials and uses, and a Heart Mandala Thinlits to decorate with!

I chose to create a “condensed” December Daily with the Full Size Journal Diecut. Later this month I will share the full reveal of my journal…so be sure to come back later in the month!

Also there is a GIVEAWAY too- leave a comment on each of the designers’ blog posts and you will be entered to win one of the new dies! Details can be found on Eileen’s blog HERE. Another prize will be given to someone who attends and comments in the Release Party Facebook Live.
