Take Me to the Beach Tag Card

Hi everyone! I’m back this week to share my project I created for Eileen Hull’s Inspiration Team this month. I’ve been longing for the beach so I decided I would create a simple fold over tag card using an assortment of Eileen’s diecuts, thinlits and a new printable that I picked up on Etsy.

I started by folding a piece of Kraft Cardstock in half and placing slightly below the cut line on the top of the largest Tag Thinlit Die from Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits.

I thought I had photographed steps of embossing and the dies I had cut out but I didn’t…so sorry about that but it does happen especially when I get into a groove and I’m crafting away.

I embossed one end of the tag with Star Burst Embossing Folder (#659879 retired) and lightly inked of that with a mix blues, greens and purple chalk inks. I cut out the middle size tag from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits, the circle diecut from the Ornament Box Diecut and the wreath from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits along with a couple of beach girls that I printed from the Beach Girls Printable and cut out.

Before adhering the middle size tag to the base of the card I embossed and lightly applied chalk ink to the raised areas. Next I added two small strips of patterned cardstock toward the bottom of the card before gluing the circle and wreath to the base of the card. I printed the “Take Me to the Beach” and “Do You Hear the Ocean?” sentiments from my computer, cut out, inked edges and added the first sentiment to the base. I also adhered the woman in the bathing suit and two sand dollars that I had fussy cut from a scrap of cardstock to the card and added a flatback pearl to the center of the sand dollar.

The inside of the card I dug up a shell diecut from my stash and with a crafters knife I cut a “pocket” along the inside edge of the shell.

I glued the bottom of the shell diecut to the card, added the other sentiment to the bottom corner and placed the bathing suit girls in the slit of the shell.

If I choose to, later on, I can add more tags or I could even place a gift card in the “pocket” behind the shell and give as a gift. There’s endless possibilities.

As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know. Also if you haven’t stopped by Eileen Hull’s blog lately to see what the Inspiration and Educator Teams have been up you can find those posts HERE and HERE.
