Snow and Cocoa Tray and Cards

Hi everyone! I’m back today with a project I designed using the bookbinding thinlit from Eileen Hull’s Bookbinding and Label Thinlits.

I recycled a card box as a base for the tray. The long sides of the tray I cut at an angle with a Crafter’s Knife and the front I cut down. I reinforced the corners of the box with patterned cardstock. I started “wrapping” the first slanted side of the box with patterned cardstock and adhered the edges down. Side note…I used Snow and Cocoa Paper Pad and the embellishments that coordinates with this line.

I wrapped and adhered patterned cardstock on the front and back of the box.

I cut out five of the bookbinding thinlits and put together according to the directions. Next I glued each end of the “hinges” together.

I reinforced the back by added another piece of cardstock.

I applied glue to the back of the hinges and placed inside the tray and added a decorative flat back pearl to the front of the tray.

The “hinges” in the tray will hold the cards/tags in place as I fill it up. I created a couple of cards and will continue to add until I fill up the tray. I used embellishments, buttons, sequins and thread to decorate these cards.

This card I embossed a piece of Aqua Cardstock with the Sweater Embossing Folder and added Snow and Cocoa embellishments.

I cut a piece of patterned cardstock, folded in half, glued the side together to create a pocket which I placed over the hinge. As I said earlier I will be adding cards and tags as the month goes on so be sure to come back to see what else I’ve added to the tray.
