Little Things Folio Journal Cover Part One

Hi everyone! I’m back with my design team project for Eileen Hull. This month the US Team is collaborating with the Bearly Art and the UK Team is doing a collab with Graffix. If you would like to see the project I created earlier this year using Graffix you can find part one HERE and part two HERE.

Now, back to my current project. I will be sharing the process of how I created this folio journal over the next couple of blog posts. I used the Notebook Diecut as the base for the folio but with a twist and I used Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to add decorative elements to the cover of the folio journal. Anyways, let’s get started!

A colorful handmade card featuring patterned paper, a sunflower embellishment, and the phrase 'Little Things' on a decorative strip. The background includes floral and geometric designs in vibrant colors.

The first thing I did was cut three pages from the Notebook Diecut. I scored each page in order: 2, 3 and 4 inches and folded.

Three decorative envelopes in various colors and floral patterns, with a light pink base, a brown textured envelope, and a white envelope adorned with pink and yellow flowers.

I also had a scrap of orange-yellow floral cardstock that I scored to create another page. For each page I placed the Page Edges Thinlits with the multiple holes onto the scored line. I secured the diecut with a piece of washi tape on each end and run through the Diecut Machine.

A collection of decorative paper sheets featuring colorful floral patterns and textures, arranged with a metal ruler on a light background.

I threaded a needle, sewed the pages together and knotted and tied off inside.

I love the fact that Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue has multiple sized tips so you have more control when applying to a project. It doesn’t wrinkle or clump, photo safe and it’s made in the USA.

Side note…I thought I had taken step out photos using the Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue on the cover putting the layers of cardstock together. But I didn’t realize until after I had the cover glued together that the SIM card in my camera was full. I was not happy. But I can “talk” you all through the process.

For the larger piece of cardstock and the strip of sunflower cardstock I added a dab of glue to the back of the strip of sunflowers and placed onto the larger piece of cardstock. Next I cut out a label from the Journal Hardware Diecut and added a dab of glue to the back placed onto a scrap piece of cardstock. I placed the multiple holes die from the Page Edges Thinlits on each glued piece and run through the Diecut Machine. With a needle and thread I sewed both together and glued to the cover.

I also added another scrap of cardstock to the cover before gluing layered flowers and a leaf sprig from the Windowsill Vase and Flowers Thinlits. I dug into my stash of scraps and found a small circle punch that I glued to the center of the flower. The “little things” sentiment I selected from the Clippings Cardstock Stickers and added to the label along with two Gems to finish.
