Family and Flowers Tag

Hi everyone! I’m back with another quick and easy tag this week. I used scraps I had laying on my desk and the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits by Eileen Hull and a few other dies by her as well to create this tag. So let’s get started!

First, since the cardstock I used was double sided I only cut one tag from Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits using the largest tag thinlit. I gathered a couple of patterned scraps of cardstock and glued to the front of the tag.

Second, I had cut the envelope, three flowers, center to the flower and the smallest leaf out from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits. I adhered the envelope together before gluing to the tag. I dug into a packet of Mini Paper Dolls and selected a family which I placed inside of the envelope.

Third, I shaped the three flowers, flower center and leaf with a Stylus. I adhered the three flowers on top of each other along with the center and the leaf to the back of the flower before gluing to the corner of the envelope.

Fourth, I dug into my stash of flowers and leaf sprigs that I had already cut out. These are from the Folio Page, Pocket and Flower Thinlits and the Shadow Box Elements Thinlits and I always try and have some extra cut out and on hand to use in projects.

I shaped the flowers and leaf sprigs with a stylus before adding around the layered flower. I finished off this side of the tag by adding Pearls to the center of the flowers, shredded cheese cloth and a bow made out of thread.

Fifth, the back side of the tag I kept simple. I used leftover printables from a tag I shared earlier, you can find that post HERE, and more scraps of cardstock. I glued the layers to the tag and added a fussy cut vine on top of the layers.

Sixth, I had this leftover button diecut that didn’t make it onto a pervious project. I had cut that from the Card Case Diecut. I tied thread through the button holes and adhered to the tag along with sequins. I finished by adding some Liquid Gloss to the leaves on the vine.

I am really excited that I’m building a nice jump ring of tags and can’t wait to create one for next week!

Happily Ever After Tag

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with another tag I created using scraps and bits of cardstock, leftover Mat Board and the Lace 3D Embossing Folder by Eileen Hull. If you remember earlier this month I shared another tag using the same embossing folder but had turned the tag a different way than this tag for a completely different look. If you are interested in that post you can find it HERE. Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I had cut out a tag from a leftover scrap of Mat Board using the Tag and Bookplates Diecut (retired). As with the other tag I made earlier this month the mat board was shorter than the actual tag on the diecut and the approximate size of the tag came to 3 1/4″x5 7/8″. I embossed the tag with the Lace 3D Embossing Folder and lightly went over the embossed areas with an aqua/teal chalk ink.

Second, I lightly applied Ivory Luster Wax over the embossed area.

Third, I lightly hit areas of the tag with brown chalk ink. It gave it a nice vintage look.

Fourth, I gathered up scraps of different patterned cardstocks, cut a parts, a “Happily Ever After” sentiment, a couple from the Minis Paper Dolls, chipboard “x” piece and a flower.

Fifth, I added layers of scraps and the sentiment to the tag. I also had this leftover bit of cardstock that I had embossed with the Crochet Mandala 3D Embossing Folder. I was happy that piece complemented what I had already added to the tag.

Sixth, I added flat back pearls to the sentiment, adhered a couple from the Minis Paper Dolls onto the tag. Next I placed a Foam Pop Dot to the back of a flower and an “x” chipboard piece to the center before placing onto the tag.

Seventh, I cut a medium and large heart and the smaller leaf from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits. I shaped the leaf with a Stylus and adhered under the flower. The hearts I placed on the tag and added a bow and loops made of thread to finish this side of the tag.

Eighth, I covered the back of the tag by cutting out another tag to cover the not so “pretty” side. I glued that to the back.

Ninth, I kept this side of the tag simple and put together an assortment of diecuts from various collections that I’ve “hoarded” through the years. I am trying hard to use what I have instead of going out and buying more supplies.

Eleventh, I layered and adhered all the diecuts, along with a piece of lace and another couple from the Minis Paper Dolls to the tag.

Twelfth, I added a bow made of thread and a gem to the center of the gauge to finish the tag.

Shades of Green Tag

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with a quick and easy Saint Patrick’s Day tag I created. I know Saint Patty’s Day is over but I’ve been a little under the weather and I’m now getting around to sharing. My go to thinlit for this project is the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits by Eileen Hull. Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I cut out two of the largest tags from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits since the backs of both cardstocks were white and glued them back to back. I fussy cut all the images out from the free printable that I had downloaded from the Graphic Fairy. It was a free printable that was offered on their instagram page so I’m not sure if it’s still available or not? But you can find other images on their site for free or they have a paid membership option also.

Second, I used two different size circle punches to punch out two of the images but the other images were fussy cut. Before adding all the images to the tag I lightly inked the edges of the tag with a light green chalk ink.

The butterfly I applied adhesive to the center part and bent the wings upwards before placing onto the tag. I used Gold Stickles on the wings of the butterfly and I added Liquid Gloss to the berries of the leaves and branch to finish this side of the tag.

Third, I lightly inked this side of the tag with the light green chalk ink along with a few of the fussy cut images. I layered, distressed and adhered the images to the tag. The image of the woman I added Foam Pop Dots to the back before placing onto the tag.

Fourth, I added gems to the hat and added Liquid Gloss to the center of each flower before calling it finished. I really enjoyed using the printable along with the scraps that I used for the tags. I have leftovers from the printable so I’m sure those images with end up in another project down the road.

Fox and Flowers Stuffed Envelope Folio

Hi everyone! Summer has been crazy busy which hasn’t left me much time to sit down and blog. There has been crafting but nothing I can share…yet. Anyways, this month’s theme over on Eileen Hull’s blog is Journal Fodder. You ask what is that? It’s anything you can add/stuff/tuck into a journal and here is my take on that theme. So let’s get started!

I cut two of the envelopes from the Journaling Card Envelope and Windows Thinlits. One envelope I folded on all the crease lines. I cut off the end of the second envelope that has the “v” shape and left a 1/2″ flap. I also cut off the side flaps.

Next, I adhered the 1/2″ flap to the bottom of the folded envelope.

I applied adhesive to each of the side flaps and glued the cut “v” envelope together to create a pocket.

I cut another envelope from a floral piece of cardstock slightly smaller and cut a part at all the folds.

I glued each of those pieces to the outside of the envelope.

I cut three pages from an old dictionary and plant book. I punched two small holes in the fold of the envelope flap and holes in all pages and then sewed into the fold/spine.

I tied off in the inside of the folio.

I decorated the cover before adding anything to the inside. I cut an oval from the Journaling Card Envelope and Windows Thinlits and for the cover and insides I used an assortment of embellishments from Garden Party by Maggie Holmes.

First off, I tied seam binding to the cord that has the pages stitched inside. Next,I placed the seam binding across the flap, embossed tickets from the Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits with the Crochet Mandala Embossing Folder. I glued the tickets to the flap, before adhering the oval diecut and gold frame on the outside of the flap.

I adhered the fox and flower to the bottom of the oval frame and the “beauty” puffy sticker to the top of the oval. I added to gold gems to the finish.

The inside flap I added a few puffy stickers and the back pocket I used a piece of cardstock that was embossed with Woven Leather Embossing Folder . I placed the “kind” puffy sticker across the embossed cardstock and added a bee sticker.

The first page inside I cut a tab from the Journaling Card Envelope and Windows Thinlits. I staples it along with a piece of lace the top of the page and added a “be you” sticker to the tab.

The next two pages more puffy stickers, embellishments and a few flowers that I had cut from the Folio Page Pocket and Flowers Thinlits that I shaped with a Stylus , added gems and sequins to each flower.

Behind the “Here We Go” tag I created a tuck spot. The ATC die from the Library Pocket ATC Card and Tab Thinlits I placed a folded piece of cardstock slightly inside the cut line to create a mini book. I dressed the outside up with a butterfly sticker, scalloped circle and a puffy bow.

More tuck spots on the next two pages.

I used the center of the Sunflower Diecut and an embossed ticket to create a unique tuck spot.

I cut out a library pocket and label from the Library Pocket ATC Card and Tab Thinlits. I glued the pocket together and adhered the bottom edge to the bottom of the page. The opposite page I added the center die from the Sunflower Diecut, a couple of punches, banner, puffy flower sticker as decoration.

The library pocket I added a tag and a embossed ticket and I tucked a folded piece of paper.

On the next two pages I glued two sides of the little house diecut to the bottom corner of the page. The opposite page I adhered a scraps of cardstock and a puffy flower sticker to the bottom corner.

I tucked in behind the house a couple of cut a parts.

On the next two pages I added a banner and scalloped circle punch and a couple of stickers to the bottom of the page. The opposite page I added a tab from the Library Pocket ATC Card and Tab Thinlits, a “us” sticker to the tab and a bit of trim to finish this page.

I added folded patterned cardstock and a adorable floral diecut to the pocket to finish.

Evening Dress Journal

Hi everyone! I’m back with a project I created for Eileen Hull. I used the Frame Pocket Journal Diecut to create this journal. So let’s get started!

A little back story on this project, I had only enough patterned cardstock to create the cover…front/back and insides of both halves of the covers. I kept on telling myself be sure to place both the right side up so your covers aren’t opposite each other. Guess what I did? I placed and cut them wrong so I had the inside cover on the outside and the outside cover inside for the journal.

I didn’t want to waste the Mat Board, Adhesive Sheets and patterned cardstock. I had just enough leftover patterned cardstock to recover one of the covers. So I cut the spine down to one signature, adhered one flap on top of the other flap and once dry I punched holes at both ends of the spine. I ran elastic cording through the holes and tied off inside of the journal.

I dug into my stash of chipboard pieces, buttons, trim, fussy cut the evening gown from cardstock and glued everything to the cover.

The notebook for the inside of the journal I took one personal size travelers notebook and cut off the bottom half of the notebook to make it fit. I embossed a piece of cardstock, from the Essentials Cardstock Collection, with the 3D Tablecloth Embossing Folder. I cut the embossed piece to fit the cover of the notebook and adhered to the front.

I used the leftover scrap of patterned cardstock from covering the cover of the journal, another fussy cut evening gown and frame chipboard piece to decorate the cover of the notebook.

I placed the notebook inside the journal and called it finished!

Oh so Cold! Altered Envelope Journal

Hi everyone! I’m back today with an altered envelope that I turned into a junk journal. For the base (cover) I used a business size #10 envelope and some dies, thinlits and embossing folders by Eileen Hull. Let’s get started!

I gathered all the scraps of cardstock, embellishments and bits and pieces to make this journal. As I have said in past blog posts this is a great way to use up what you have laying around from other projects.

The first thing I did was seal the flap of the envelope and then fold in half to create the cover. I cut a piece of cardstock and an old dictionary page to fit inside. I also added a fussy cut polar bear printable as the third page. I folded all together, punched two holes into the spine of the cover and all inside pages. I threaded a needle with ribbon and sewed and tied all together into a nice little bow on the spine.

I adhered patterned cardstock to the inside and outside of the cover. I layered more patterned cardstock and glued to the cover but I left the top open so I could add tags to the pocket. I fussy cut one the little girls that I printed from the Let it Snow Art Dolls Printables. I had actually printed this out for a Christmas project but they didn’t print correctly. I couldn’t throw out the printable and I figured since this was a junk journal why not use it? I adhered the girl image onto the “pocket”, cut and glued two snowflakes together from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and cut a label from the Library Pocket ATC and Tabs Thinlits and glued onto the snowflake. I put together the word “Journal” from alphabet stickers and placed onto the label.

I cut a pocket from the Frame Pocket Journal Diecut and embossed with the 3D Tablecloth Embossing Folder, folded the flaps and adhered to the inside cover. I dug out a paper snowflake, glued to the pocket and added a button to the center of it. I added tags to the pocket. One of the tags I added one of the fussy cut girl, plus a tab which I cut from the Library Pocket ATC and Tabs Thinlits and a chipboard snowflake to the tab. The opposite page I decorated with lace, bits of velvet ribbon and a scrap of patterned cardstock.

The next pages I added scraps of cardstock, Ric Rac and a stamped snowman image to the page. The opposite page I cut and distressed a piece of patterned cardstock and adhered to the page. I cut the larger snowflake from Tim Holtz’s 3D Snowflake Impresslits (retired), placed onto the page along with a strip of patterned cardstock and a sequin which I glued to the center of the snowflake.

The next set of pages I glued a strip of patterned cardstock to the top of the page, placed the chipboard “winter” sentiment on the strip along with scraps of cardstock, vellum and a small snowflake from Doodle Christmas Thinlits. The other page I cut and distressed a piece of patterned cardstock, glued to the page, placed a chipboard “oh so cold!” sentiment onto the patterned cardstock along with another small snowflake. I didn’t add any embellishments to the back side of the polar bear printable.

The next set of pages I placed a small penguin behind a specimen slide that I had in my stash and glued onto the page. I finished by adding the “snow fun!” sentiment, mini snowflake and chipboard snowflakes. The opposite page I added various laces, sheer fabric and Ric Rac to the page.

The last page I adhered scraps of patterned cardstock to the top and a smaller snowflake from the 3D Snowflake Impresslits and a sequin to the center of the snowflake.

I applied Stickles to the girls bonnets and small black gems to the coat of the taller girl to finish.

A Faithful Friend Tag

Hi everyone! It’s hard to believe the month is almost gone. I set some “loose yearly goals” for this coming year where I would like to at least do four blog posts a month…preferably more. Well, this is my fourth post of the month…yay!

Anyways, I would like to share a tag I created using the largest tag from the Tag Collection Thinlits by Tim Holtz and the 3D Silverware Embossing Folder by Eileen Hull. Let’s get started!

I cut from Kraft Cardstock the largest tag and the reinforcer from the Tag Collection Thinlits. I placed the tag into the 3D Silverware Embossing Folder and run through the Diecut Machine. Next, I applied Rose Gold Luster Wax over the embossed image on the tag and a soft blue chalk ink to add a weathered look to the tag.

I dug into my scrap pile of cardstock, rough upped the edges of the larger piece and added two smaller patterned pieces of cardstocks (the larger cardstock piece slightly hung off the tag while the other two pieces of cardstock were placed under the larger piece) and adhered all to the base of the tag.

I had a scrap piece of the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits that I tore and placed onto the tag. I selected the two women diecut from the Mini Paper Dolls Pack and glued to the tag along with a scrap of sheer fabric. I picked the “A faithful friend” sentiment from the Clippings Cardstock Stickers and placed above the women. I cut two flowers and a leaf sprig from the Folio Page Pocket and Flowers Thinlits, shaped with a Stylus, adhered the flowers on top of each other and glued the leaf sprig to the back of the flower before adding to the tag. I finished by placing a Glossy Dot in the center of the flower and gluing a vintage button to the tag.

Silverware and Roses Card

Hi everyone! I’m back with a quick card I created using Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 release…that happened earlier this week. I used the Silverware Embossing Folder, the center die of the Sunflower from the Sunflower Diecut and the label stamp from the Making Plans Stamp Set to create this card. So let’s get started!

First off, I cut a piece of Cream Cardstock to fit into the Silverware Embossing Folder and ran through the Diecut Machine. I applied Rose Gold Luster Wax over the embossed areas. I added a little tan chalk ink to give it a softer look.

I cut a strip of patterned cardstock and adhered to the middle of the embossed area. I cut out, inked the edges of the center of the Sunflower Diecut and glued onto the strip.

I added a piece of patterned cardstock as a mat to the embossed image before placing onto the card base. I also fussy cut roses from a piece of patterned cardstock, stamped a label from the Making Plans Stamp Set and adhered those to the card base. I finished off by adding the “dreams come true” sentiment sticker from the Clipping Stickers Book onto the label and two Diamond Dotz: Shade 7004 on either side of the sentiment.

Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 Sunflower Shadow Box Reveal

Hi everyone! Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 release is finally here and I’m so excited!

The Geometric Box is a different kind of design for Eileen. I love the ease of assembly, the unique shape and and the possibility of expanding the box into larger containers! This is a ScoreBoards die so it may be cut from sturdy materials like matboard, chipboard, metal, leather and fabric. The finished box measures 4” h x 3” w x 4” d…or so…a fun feature of this die is that it adapts to how you shape it. There are so many possibilities with this die.

Use the Geometric Box for storage-for pencils, silverware, flowers, or tools. The box may also be used as a gift container-imagine adding teabags, a pretty silver spoon and a bow as a get well gift or as a home decor piece (wait until you see one of my upcoming projects)!

The Sunflower is a Bigz L steel rule die-designed to cut and score a myriad of materials. The Sunflower is BIG- it measures about 4″ across and comes with a leaf, three sizes of petals and a flower center! Stack layers of petals to make a traditional sunflower, or change colors and create a pink coneflower or use easy flower shape to create a unique floral arrangement. The basic shape is there for you to create your own flowers! Make a stem for the flower using wire and your Twist and Style Tool. The coordinating Geometric Box die works perfectly as a vase.

The whimsical patterns of vintage cutlery of the Silverware 3D Embossing Folder is gorgeous! The design is so detailed you can actually see a tiny bride and groom on the handle of a cake server.

This folder is perfect for creating seating charts, menus, invitations, cards and recipe books. You would be surprised at the many materials you can emboss- metal, paper, cardboard, Sizzix texture roll and more. Once you have embossed the image, rub a light coat of a metallic Luster Wax over the top of the design and you have an amazing result!

My first project from this release I used the Sunflower Diecut along with the Shadow Box Frames Set 2 Thinlits and the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlit from past releases. So let’s get started!

First off, I cut out four of the smaller frame sides from the Shadow Box Frames Set 2 Thinlits and put together according to directions. Side note…Eileen Hull has a few videos on YouTube and on her Facebook Lives where she shares how to put these together. I cut out the Skinny Mini Thinlit, inked the edges and then tore pieces off of the diecut image to give it a tattered look. I crumpled scraps of patterned cardstock before adhering, both the die and scraps and scraps of lace, to the inside of the shadow box.

I pulled yellow, dark yellow, green and brown cardstock from the Eclectic Surfacez Cardstock Collection and cut two sets each of the large and middle flowers and one center and leaf from the Sunflower Diecut. I inked the edges of each and shaped the flowers (including the center) and leaf with a Stylus. I glued all pieces together. I watered down black, gray and white acrylic painted, loaded a paint brush with each color and splattered paint onto the sunflower.

To raise the sunflower up off of the shadow box I added three layers of Adhesive Foam before placing onto the box.

I placed some glittered sprays, tree twigs and bows made from cording under the sunflower to finish off this home decor piece.

September Apple Harvest Tag

Hi everyone! I’m back with a quick end of the month project I created using some cut a parts and cardstock from the Authentique Calendar Collection (retired). So let’s get started!

I cut a 5″x10 1/2″ piece of patterned cardstock and a 4″x8 1/2″ plain piece of cardstock out. I cut off the top edges of both and punched a hole in the top of each tag. I also inked the edges with chalk ink.

One sheet of cardstock had an assortment of cut a parts which I cut and selected the ones I would use on the tag.

I inked edges and adhered the cut a parts to the tag. Next I diecut leaves and leaf sprigs from the Funky Foliage Thinlits, shaped with a Stylus and glued under the cut a parts.
