Bits and Pieces Mini Junk Journal

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a few photos and a mini video of a journal I created for Magnolia Exchange swap I am in. This month’s theme was mini mail whatever you send to your swap partner can’t be no bigger than 3″x4″.

After being paired up with my swap partner I decided to create a mini junk journal for her.

She liked all colors and liked all animals wither they had fur or was scaly. So I tried my best to include what I had in animal images through out the journal.

I raided my stash of stickers, scraps of cardstock and embellishments to decorate the inside.

Also I included a quick flip through video so you can see more of the inside.

Also if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Also I would like to submit this project for the following challenges:

Nurture Your Soul

Hi everyone! Can you believe that only on a couple of days it will be official Fall??? Compared to last year it is way cooler which I have mixed feeling about. Don’t get me wrong I do like it a little cooler but not to where you are turning on the heat and bundling up. Give me low 80’s during the day and upper 60’s at night year round and I am happy. 😊
Also I wanted to share this little Bible that I altered and it is featured over on the Canvas Corp blog today! For all the how to’s you can find the blog post HERE.
As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thinking of You Roses Card

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick card I created with some leftover cardstock scraps, diecuts, etc. that I had laying on my desk. I started by folding a 6″x6″ piece of patterned cardstock in half to create a base for my card. Next I had scraps of cardstock that had roses on them so I fussy cut those out and along with half of a doily I adhered all to the front of the card.

I added Stickles to the larger rose and mini lime green gems to the smaller roses. I watercolored four of the smallest Romance Flower Diecuts, crinkled and glued two each together. Added a dot of Stickles to the center of each, added a leaf sprig, tulle and twine to finish off the flowers. I printed the “thinking of you” verbiage from the computer and matted with a patterned cardstock before adhering to the card.

If you have any questions about this card please let me know.

Mini Bird Junk Journal

Hi everyone! Has the weather started warming up where you live? Here for the most part we have had days in the 70’s to upper 80’s with everything in full bloom. I think we have skipped Spring and jump right on into Summer. 😎
I wanted to share my finished junk journal with you all. Do you remember I did a how to on how to stitch this journal? If not you can find that post HERE. Well, here is the finished project!

I used a variety of scraps of cardstock, stickers and bits and pieces I had laying around to create this little journal.

I even used a paperbag that held silverware in it from Chili’s to add tags to.

The blurbs I cut from packaging and added Stickles for some interest and of course I have to always add a paper doily to any journal I create. 😊

I forgot to add that I sewed in a total of six papers and that is including the paperbag.

I love how chunky this little journal turned out!

I also did a short flip through video of the inside of the journal which I hope you enjoy! As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Butterfly Angel Journal Part Two

Hi everyone! I am back with part two of my butterfly angel journal for Tsunami Rose Designs! If you didn’t catch part one of how I decorated this cover you can find that post HERE.

I used leftover printables from last month’s tag project for Tsunami Rose which included  Ephemera Set #12Junk Journal Kit-Rose Notecards, and Rose Clipart Floral Set #14.

I kept the bulky embellishments to a minimum by using glitter, sequins, flowers and mini gems since this little journal contains lots of pockets for tags and journaling cards.

There are three signatures in this little journal with three papers per signature which turned out being one chunky little monkey! 🐒
There is more photos of the inside of this journal over on Tsunami Rose Designs blog which you can find HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Saturday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Butterfly Angel Journal Part One

Hi everyone! I am here today to share my project this month using Eileen Hull’s ColorBox Blends with the Passport Diecut. The Inspiration Team has shown several different ways to use the ColorBox Blends and you can find those post HERE, HERE and HERE.

For my project I cut the Passport Diecut from Mat Board. I have a large piece of glass that I use as a pallet (very easy to clean afterwards) and I applied Tutu and Wildberry Blends and watered both colors down. Next I taped a doily stencil to the front cover of my book and applied both colors. Once it was dry I removed the stencil and then applied Sunshine Blends to my pallet, watered down and applied a wash to the cover.

The back cover I embossed with the Lace Medallions Embossing Folder. I watered down Wildberry and Sunshine blends and painted the cover.

While letting the covers dry I embossed the spine with Waffle Embossing Folder and inked over it with the Leaf Blends.

Before adhering the covers and spine together I added Stickles over the doily image on the front cover and once dry I splattered with Coconut and Nutmeg Blends. Adhered all pieces together and glued Ric Rac to dress up the edge of the spine.

I had made several frozen Charlotte dolls with Makers Mix but hadn’t found the right project to use them in so I thought this project would be the right time to add one to the cover of my journal. I watered down the Coconut Blends and painted the first coat over the whole doll.

Once the first coat was dry I watered down Nutmeg Blends and applied randomly to the doll and once that was dry I sealed it with Fast Finish Decoupage.

I added fussy cut roses printables, twine and metallic thread to the front cover. Next I adhered butterfly wings to the back of the doll along with a bookplate to finish off the cover.

I tied three papers per signature to the inside of the journal and finished off the spine with a variety of seam binding, ribbon, lace, etc. Later this week I will be sharing the inside of my journal. So be sure to keep an eye out for that blog post. 😊
As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Tsunami Rose Designs: Rose Notecard Tags

Hi everyone! I am here to share three tags I created for Tsunami Rose Designs using printables out of the Ephemera Set #12Junk Journal Kit-Rose Notecards, and Rose Clipart Floral Set #14.
I started by cutting three tags from the Junk Journal Kit-Rose Notecards Set using the Tim Holtz’s Tag and Bookplate diecut. I added lace tassels to each tag which I finished off with a button and pink thread. I side note the lace had been cut from a curtain that was going to be thrown away. 😊

The first tag I fussy cut the bird cage and roses out from the Ephemera Set #12 and Rose Clipart Floral Set #14 and placed over an embossed scalloped circle. I added a line of adhesive down the back of each images. This way you can still add bits of gold thread and pearl sprays  behind the images. I also added patterned cardstock, sequins, a felt heart and trim.

The second tag I fussy cut more images from the same two kits that I had used on the tag above. Once the image were cut out I adhered the butterfly wings to the back of the dress form before gluing to the tag along with patterned cardstock. I added the flower image along with a punched and shaped flower, pearl sprays and green thread to create a quick but elegant tag.

The last tag I fussy cut the rose vase and woman from the Rose Clipart Floral Set #14. I chose to go a little quirky with this tag. I cut from patterned cardstock a Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangles Large and adhered off center of the tag. I then added the woman and the rose vase which I turned upside down and adhered to her head. I added a mini flat back pearl to the necklace, a sequin and gem to the center of the rose, green thread and pearl sprays to the rose vase. To finish of this tag I adhered a bit of pink velvet ribbon and button and thread.

I added Stickles to all of the flowers on the tags to give each tag a little sparkle. 😊 As always if you have any questions please let me know.

Angel Rolodex Cards and Mail Art

Hi everyone! I am here to share a really quick project I had created for a swap I was in with a fellow Instagramer Linda.

We had decided to do an altered Rolodex swap…well in my case I have a Rolodex diecut so I cut my cards from cardstock/scrapbook paper. 🙂

I used Christmas Clipart Printables Ephemera Set 11 from Tsunami Rose Designs etsy shop.

I fussy cut the images out and added diecuts/punches, sequins, flat back pearls and a little Stickles to each rolodex card.

I also printed the little girl onto a piece of sticker paper and created my first piece of mail art. I added washi tape and stickers to finish off my envelope. As always if you have any questions please let me know.

Also I would like to submit these rolodex cards for the following challenge:

Tsunami Rose Designs: Traveler’s Notebook

Hi everyone! I am here today to share my design team project for Tsunami Rose Designs.
I decide instead of a typical junk journal I would created a ten pages traveler’s notebook for my dori. I had a leftover file folder that I had used to make a dash board for my planner. I rounded the corners and folded in half to create a 4″x7 1/2″ cover for my traveler’s notebook.

I had leftover printables from the following kits from Tsunami Rose Designs: Tea Party Desserts, Small Mason Jars Collections 1, Decoupage Flowers Set #2 and Printable Ephemera Set # 8 – Vintage Childrens Photos which I used throughout the notebook.

Next I cut ten sheets of grid cardstock to fit the inside of the notebook and sewed to the inside cover.

In the center of the notebook I used one of the envelopes from the Tea Party Desserts as a pocket. Before adhering it together I punched the holes and stitched to the center and then glued together.

I used a variety of leftover scraps of cardstock, embellishments and trim to dress up the pages but tried to not over do it.

I added plenty of tuck spots throughout the notebook. Even though the mason jars are small I enlarged some for larger journaling spots. The Lush Soft tag is off of a pair of jeans I purchase and I thought it would be cute addition to the page.

The back side of the lush soft tag I fussy cut a bouquet of flowers and add tiny gems to the centers of each flower along with Stickles to the leaves for a glittery touch.

I adhered a small mason jar to the corner as a pocket and added several printables for tons of journaling opportunities.

I side view of the notebook not too chunky…just the right size. 🙂

I’ve added it to my dori and now it is ready for me to add lists, notes and journaling to.

Be sure to hop over to the Tsunami Rose Designs etsy shop and pick up these printables or if you are looking for a something different there is several themes available and the best part they are only $2.50! Tsunami Rose Design: Tea Party Dessert Cards

Hi everyone! I am here to share my project for Tsunami Rose Designs! This month I used the following Tea Party Desserts and Tea Party Desserts Add On kits to create three cards.
I will start with the first card…which is my favorite…I cut and folded a 5 1/2″x5 1/2″ piece of kraft cardstock for my card base. I had leftover piece of printable large enough to frame the base of the card which I adhered along with a doily to the front of the card.

I cut out one of the envelopes from the kit, put together and inked the edges before adhering to the bottom corner of the card.

The leftover bits from the flowers, leaves and teapot I had fussy cut I didn’t throw these away but crinkled, rolled up, distressed and inked and added as filler in the pocket. Next I filled in blank spots the fussy cut flowers and teapot. I also added the sentiment in the bottom corner of the card.

I added a couple of flowers, lace, pearl sprays and pink thread to finish off these card.

The next card I cut and folded a page from the kit to create the base for the card. I fussy cut the signage/flowers and birthday cake out and added to a doily and patterned cardstock.

I added Stickles to the cake and once dry I added tiny gems to the center of the flowers that are on the cake. I also adhered a flower, some leaves, thread, trim and a birthday sentiment that I had printed from the computer to finish this card off.

The last card I cut and folded a 4″x6″ piece of kraft cardstock for the base of my card and added a piece of leftover printable to the base along with a doily. I then adhered a banner and the chocolate image to the card.

Next I embellished the daisies with buttons, sequins and Dew Drops.  The sentiment I printed from the computer and I finished off the card with a flower, thread and a pearl spray.

The cake and chocolate cards are so easy to put together and only took me about and hour (minus fussy cutting) and now are ready for when I need a card to send to my friends or family. I tend to do all my fussy cutting while watching TV or if I have to wait at the doctor’s office…it makes time go quicker 😉
Below are the links to both of the kits and they are only $5 each and you get so many printables with each kit!

Be sure to stop by the Tsunami Rose Designs Blog for inspiration and join their Facebook group Tsunami Rose Design Fans too. As always if you have any questions about these cards please let me know.

I would like to submit these cards for the following challenges:
