December 25th Caddy Box

Hi everyone! I’m back today with a box I created as a companion piece for the Jolly Old St. Nicholas Notepad I shared yesterday. You can find that post HERE. I used Eileen Hull’s Card Caddy Diecut along with a couple of other dies/thinlits. So let’s get started!

First, I applied Adhesive Sheets to both sides of a piece of Mat Board and placed patterned cardstock to both sides before cutting out one box and two sides.

To make the sides lay flush on the inside of the box I “peeled” the mat board from the tabs.

I adhered the bottom tab on the side panels to each side of the box.

Next I added adhesive to each of the longer tabs and glued each side of the box into place.

Now for the fun part…adding embellishments! I cut and intertwined two wreaths from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits along with raiding my stash of Christmas ephemera and embellishments and decorated one side of the caddy.

I also added a Santa that I had fussy cut from scrapbook paper (I did the same for the notepad) and glued the word “Christmas” to the label that’s included with the Caddy Card Diecut and a poinsettia to finish.

The notepad fits perfectly inside the box! Also as a side note you can create a journal from the Caddy Card Box. Maybe one day I will get around to making one?

Jolly Old St. Nicholas Notepad

Hi everyone! I’m back with a quick project I created for Eileen Hull using the Ornament Box Diecut, Woven Leather 3D Embossing Folder and leaf sprigs from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits. This would make a great gift along with a pretty ink pen for the person who likes to take notes or make lists. Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I measured the notepad to get the dimensions, my notepad measures 5″x8″ but I added around another 2 inches onto the 8 inch side before cutting a piece of Red Cardstock for the cover.

Next, I folded and glued the flap onto the back of the notepad. I had a strip of patterned cardstock leftover from another project that I added to the flap to dress it up.

For the cover I cut from a Mint Green Cardstock one Skinny Mini Elements Thinlit along with a piece patterned cardstock slightly larger than the die and adhered both to the cover. I punched a three inch circle from patterned cardstock and cut a circle from the Ornament Box Diecut and then embossed with the Woven Leather 3D Embossing Folder. I lightly sanded over the raised edges of the embossed edges.

Before gluing both circles to the flap I added two strips of cardstock, as banners down the side of the Skinny Mini Elements die.

I fussy cut a Santa from a piece of scrapbook paper and added him to the side of the embossed circle. A patterned piece of cardstock and the “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” sentiment (that I cut from scrapbook paper) I glued across the embossed circle.

I dug into my stash of Christmas embellishments and found pre-cut poinsettias. I cut out four leaf sprigs from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits, shaped with a Stylus and adhered around the side of the embossed circle along with the poinsettia which I added a gem to the center to finish off this project.

Hopefully this project will give you ideas not only for Christmas but for other occasions too.

Happy Holidays Poinsettia Cards

Hi everyone and Happy first day of December! I want to share a couple of cards I created using leftover scraps and cardstock from Blank Page Muse by Pam Bray’s Tattered and Worn 6″x6″ Paper Pad. Let’s get started!

For the first card I folded the black and white dotted cardstock from the Tattered and Worn Paper Pad in half to create a 3″x6″ card base. I cut a 7/8″x6″(scrap of green cardstock from the Cyan Consortium 6″x6″ Paper Pad) and a 3/4″x6″ patterned cardstock and adhered to the card base.

Next, I punched out a circle from patterned cardstock, inked around the circle and placed glue in the center of the circle before placing onto the card base.

I cut out four poinsettias from Watercolor Paper and holly from Green Cardstock from a Christmas set of thinlits by Momenta. I lightly inked over the edges of all the flowers and holly, three of those flowers and the rest of the holly will be used on the next card. I glued the holly to the back of the poinsettia before placing in the center of the circle.

I placed three gold gems in the center of the flower, added Foam Pop Dots to the back of a Happy Holidays sentiment before placing onto the card base. Lastly I added loops of gold thread under the circle to finish this card.

The second card I did the same steps with the same cardstock from the Worn and Tattered Paper Pad to create a card base. I cut a patterned piece of cardstock 1/2″x6″ and adhered to the card base.

I glued the holly to the back of each poinsettia, added gold gems to the center of each along with loops of gold thread before placing onto the card base. I finished off by adding foam pop dots to the back of the sentiment before placing underneath the poinsettias.

My plan is to share a project everyday for the next 24 or 25 days…fingers crossed. That being said please stop back by the blog tomorrow for another Christmas inspired project!

How to Create a Decorative Geometric Pumpkin

Hi everyone! I’m back with a project I created to be used as a home decor piece using the Geometric Diecut and the center die from the Sunflower Diecut as a flower. Let’s get started!

First, I applied Adhesive Sheets to one side of the Mat Board, removed the protective sheet from the adhesive sheet and carefully placed the patterned cardstock into the mat board. I placed onto the Geometric Diecut, ran through the Diecut Machine and cut two sides and two tops.

I slowly glued the edges of the geometric die to the top and bottom dies.

The second geometric die I adhered to the flap of the other die and slowly glued to the top and bottom of the dies to create the “pumpkin”.

I went to the woods and searched for the perfect “stem” for the pumpkin. I found a small branch and had my husband use a handsaw to cut it down for me.

I adhered the stem to the top of the “pumpkin” before cutting out two centers from the Sunflower Diecut. I crushed both dies before shaping and gluing on top of each other. I added a gem to the center, before adding to the top of the pumpkin along with lace, fall berries picks, mini pinecones, moss and cording bows.

This was a fun project that came together rather quickly and I hope this has inspires you to give the Geometric Diecut a try.

How to Create a Festive Floral Christmas Gift Bag

Hi everyone! Can you believe that Christmas is right around the corner? I can’t but I can say I’m a little ahead of the game and have a few holiday projects created ahead of time. This first project I want to share is for the 3rd Annual Comfort and Joy Event hosted by Eileen Hull. I up-cycled a cloth bag that a set of pillow cases came in and turned it into a gift bag for Christmas. I used the Sunflower Diecut to create my version of a poinsettia. Let’s get started!

First, I cut out the flowers and leaf out of paper from the Sunflower Die.

I used two of the smaller flowers and the leaf as a patterned to cut the felt slightly larger than the pattern.

I cut two of each of the flowers, total of four, and two leaves. I layered and adhered the flowers on top of each other. I did cut a set in a cream and peach color that I plan on using in another project (stay tuned).

The leaf I added a little glue to the center and pinched together.

Next I cut and tied in the center yellow embroidery thread and unwound. I adhered to the back of a flat back pearl, glued to the center of the flower and the leaf to the back of the flower. I also cut out a couple of hollies from green felt from the Funky Festive Thinlits and added.

I used an assortment of metallic threads, green thread, gold ribbons, gold vines, pom pom trim and red berry sprays to “bling” out the flower.

I have managed to acquire a collection of these fabric bags but never really knew what to do with them but now I do.

Once everything dried I adhered the flower below the elastic on the bag and let that dry well.

I added a body wash to the bag and now my first Christmas present is wrapped! YAY!

Hey Friend Card

Hi everyone! As I’m slowly getting back into the swing of crafting, from a busy couple of months of things pertaining to family and all things summer, I want to share a card I created for Eileen Hull’s Inspiration Team! This month’s theme is cards and I used the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits along with a few other dies, embossing folder and thinlits by Eileen. So let’s get started!

I originally was going to cover a per-cut card base with the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlit and do the usual decorating. But when I I placed the Thinlits onto the piece of glittered cardstock ( I ran the die through the machine two times) it didn’t cut through. Instead of tossing I decided I would fold in half and create a card base. I did back the inside with a piece of light pink cardstock before decorating the front.

Next I cut out the circle from the Ornament Box Diecut and embossed with the Woven Leather 3D Embossing Folder. I lightly inked over the raised areas before adhering to the card base.

I dug into my big stash of scraps and cut out flowers, wreath and leaf sprigs from the following thinlits: Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and Folio Page, Pocket and Flowers Thinlits. I placed Foam Pop Dots onto the back of two strips of patterned cardstock and placed onto the card base.

Next I glued a piece of wood looking cardstock under the raised patterned cardstock along with the wreath die.

I shaped the flowers and leaf sprigs with a Stylus and adhered to the card base.

I added Glossy Dots to the centers of each flower. Also I printed, cut and chalked the edges of a “Hey Friend!” sentiment and placed onto the card to finish.

You are a Natural Beauty

Hi everyone! I’m back with a project I actually created several months ago for Eileen Hull’s Chapter One Release and never got around to sharing. This project I used the Book Box Diecut but used the hinge on the shorter side of the box instead of the longer side.

I placed Adhesive Sheets on both side of the Mat Board before adding cardstock (Lakeside Blooms Paper Pad (discontinued)) to either side and running through the Diecut Machine.

I put the box together according to the directions but as I stated above I cut the hinge down to fit the side of the box because I had a “mess up” that I had to cover up…ooops!

I cut out a frame from the Books and Pages, Trinket Box and Frame Diecut (retired). I placed Foam Pop Dots on the back before placing onto the box. I used embellishments from the Vintage Artistry Sage Collection, a couple of store bought flowers and flower diecuts from the Folio Page Pocket and Flowers Thinlits to decorate the lid of the box.

I adhered lace, thread and added gems to the center of the flowers to finish off the box.

Listen to Your Heart

Hi everyone! I want to share a card I created with you all today. At Christmas I received a craft box as a gift that had an assortment of card blanks, patterned cardstock, diecuts, stickers, etc. in it. I finally dug out one of the card blanks and decided to decorate it and this is what I created.

First off I used a Paisley Embossing Folder (I found this at Joann’s) and placed the front half of the card in the folder and ran through the Diecut Machine. Next I inked over the raised edges with an assortment of chalk inks.

There was a sheet of floral cardstock that I fussy cut several of the flowers and foliage out. I also dug into my stash of cardstock scraps and adhered to the front of the card. I placed Foam Pop Dots to the back of the sentiment and placed onto the front along with the fussy cut images.

I finished by adding gems to the sentiment tag and the center of one of the flowers and adding lace, loops of thread and Stickles to the berries.

There you have it! Hopefully soon…I’ll get around to creating something else from this craft box.
