Eileen Hull Treasure Box Diecut: Creative Project Inspiration

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with the reveal of my first project I created using the re-released Treasure Box Diecut and the new Painterly Blooms and Background Thinlits. I also used a few dies all by Eileen Hull.

For some odd reason I didn’t do step by step photos…sorry…I guess I was in the moment of creating away. Well, anyways let’s get started!

First, I covered both sides of two pieces of Mat Board with patterned cardstock (you will have to have two of each of the dies). I placed the mat board onto the Treasure Box Diecut, and sandwiched in-between two plates and run through the Diecut Machine.

I put the box together. Side note, if you can’t figure how to put the box together Eileen Hull has lives on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram every Tuesday and Thursday. Just be sure to fill out the questions to join.

Second, I punched holes with a Crop-A-Dile in the lid and the box for the hinges and clasp. Side note, I used wash tape to hold the hinges and clasp in place while marking the first set of holes. I attached the hardware with brads. I added a decorative trim to cover the pongs of the brads.

Third, I glued the feet to the bottom of the box.

Fourth, I cut flowers and leaves from the Painterly Blooms and Background Thinlits, Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits, Sunflower Diecut and the Folio Page, Pocket and Flowers Thinlits. I used the middle flower from the Sunflower Diecut and the flower from the Folio Page, Pocket and FlowersThinlits to create the largest flower on top of the box.

I used the tweezers from the Stylus Kit to shape the petals of the larger flower and the largest stylus to the center of flower, including the smaller flowers, before gluing each on top of each other. I cut two leaves from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits, shaped and adhered to the back of the flower before adding to the top of the box.

I cut several flowers and leaves from the Painterly Blooms and Background Thinlits. I shaped the flowers with a stylus to create three different types of flowers. I glued together, added leaves, gems and Pearls to the center of each flower before placing onto the box. I I finished by added lace, bows made of thread and pearl top push pins.

Birthday Slimline Card with Journal Diecut and Faux Postage Thinlits

Hi there! I’m back this week with a birthday slimline card I made. I used the Journal Diecut by Eileen Hull to create the base of the card. I also used the Faux Postage Thinlits, by Eileen, and the bear from Doodle Christmas Thinlits by Olivia Rose. Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I folded a piece of White Cardstock in half, placed slightly inside the cut line of the Journal Diecut and secured with washi tape before placing in between the cutting plates and running through the Diecut Machine. This will create the base for the slimline card.

Second, I cut one of the Faux Postage Thinlits.

Third, I cut two cardstocks, one plain slightly larger than the patterned piece of cardstock and adhered both the card base.

Next I cut the Faux Postage Thinlits a part. Since the postage stamp pieces aren’t the same height of the card I “pieced” those together and I will cover the gap with a sentiment.

Fifth, I placed the label stamp from the Simple Sayings Stamps Set onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with Black Ink and stamped onto a piece of cardstock. I followed the same steps for the “Just Celebrate” stamp and stamped inside the label image.

Sixth, I fussy cut the sentiment out and matted with two different colors of cardstock and glued to the card. I also added a few sequins to the sentiment.

Seventh, I cut out the bear, snoot, nose, cheeks, hat, present and bow from the Doodle Christmas Thinlits. Who says you have to use a Christmas set of dies for Christmas? I changed up the colors for something cheery and fun.

Eighth, I lightly inked over the bear with chalk ink and put together. Side note, I did use an adhesive sheet on the tiny pieces so it would make it easier to put together.

Also I did cut the hat down to make it look more like a “party hat” and added a pom pom to the top. I folded the arms of the bear so it’s holding the present. I glued the bear to a double matted cardstock and glued to the card. I finished by adding a couple of sequins.

This card was easy to put together and it will fit into a number 10 (business size) envelope. If you have any questions about this card please leave a comment below.

Love You Shaker Card

Hi everyone! Since Valentine’s Day is only a day away I want to share a shaker card I created using Eileen Hull’s Embroidery Hoop Diecut and a few of her other thinlits. So let’s get started!

First, I placed the Embroidery Hoop Diecut onto a piece of cardstock from the Rouge 6″x8″ Paper Collection and did the same steps for a piece of Matboard. I cut the top part off each hoop.

Second, I cut two of the hoops from Foam Adhesive Sheets and cut the top off both hoops.

Third, I cut a 6″x12″ piece of cardstock from the Foundation 1 Rouge Cardstock and folded in half to create a 6″x6″ card base. I removed the backing from the adhesive foam and placed on top of each other and placed onto the card.

Fourth, I adhered the inner circle of the hoop inside of the outer hoop.

Fifth, I placed an assortment of sequins, gems and Micro Beads within the foam hoop. Next, trace the outer circle of the hoop onto a piece of Acetate and cut out. Remove the backing from the foam hoop and place the circle acetate onto the hoop.

Sixth, apply adhesive and place the circle from the hoop, that’s cut from patterned cardstock over the foam hoop.

Seventh, I cut to fit a fancy pom pom trim to fit around the hoop and adhered.

Eighth, I cut an envelope and smaller leaf (Rouge Paper Collection) and the small, medium and large size hearts (felt) from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits. I lightly inked the edges of the envelope and glued together and adhered to the corner of the hoop.

Ninth, I cut another piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the envelope, used a Corner Rounder on the top since it will be seen and lightly inked the edges. I cut the “love” sentiment from the Journaling Words Thinlits (retired) and the letters “Y”, “O” and “U” from the Tiled Alphanumeric Thinlits and placed onto the card and then placed in the envelope.

Tenth, I glued the medium and large size hearts to the upper side of the hoop and the small heart to the corner of the envelope. I added sequins, loops of thread, pearl top pins and a crocheted flower with the leaf from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits to finish the card.

This shaker card the theme can easily be changed to suit any occasion, birthday, get well, thinking of you, just because, etc. Question, do you make cards to give? If you do or don’t why? Leave your comment below.

Roses and Hearts Envelope Journal

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with a journal I created. I had actually started this journal last year but the month of February and Valentine’s Day slipped by quickly on me and I didn’t finish it. So needless to say, I was able to finish it this year. I used envelopes, an assortment of different types of cardstocks, embellishments and a few diecuts and thinlits by Eileen Hull to complete this journal. Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I started with an envelope that had “junk mail” in it. I was able to open it without ripping up the flap on the back . I glued the flap down and folded in half.

Second, I cut to fit patterned cardstock to fit the front and back of the cover and the inside of both sides of the cover. Side note, this will make it easier to stitch in the pages.

Third, I gathered an envelope, which I sealed the flap before cutting an opening in the end to created a “pocket, patterned cardstocks and dotted writing paper for the inside pages. I punched two holes into the spine before stitching with a needle and thread all the pages to the inside of the cover. I tied off on the outside spine. I cut a piece of flat lace the length of the spine, centering the lace to either side of the front and back covers before adhering in place.

Fourth, I decorated the cover first. I know some crafters like to save the cover for last but for me if I can get the cover squared away/finished or close to finished it sets the theme for the inside of the journal.

I used an assortment of embellishments that I have had for years in my stash on the cover, such as the Ric Rac, lace, the lace flower and the chipboard roses piece along with a chipboard frame and a oversized floral postage stamp that I had purchased a couple of months ago. I cut the smallest and middle size hearts from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits and inked the edges with a hot pink chalk ink. I layered those on top of each other and slightly under the chipboard roses. I also cut the largest leave from the same set of thinlits and shaped with a Stylus before gluing under the lace flower. I finished by adding a bow made of thread under the flower.

Fifth, I used a cut a part to create a pocket on the inside cover which I added a couple of flowers and another cut a part over the flowers. I used a bit of trim to dress up the top of the pocket. The opposite page I covered with a patterned cardstock.

I cut from a patterned piece of cardstock the decorative number 14, inked the edges before adding glue to two sides and placing on the corner of the page to create a pocket. I used a mix of cut a parts, scraps of patterned cardstock and a piece of grid paper as tags to fill the pockets. Side note, I dressed up the grid paper with a rub on and lightly inking the edges to give it an aged old.

Sixth, the next set of pages I kept the decoration to those pages to a minimum. I added a patterned cardstock to the back of the smaller page along with pom pom trim. The opposite page I found these felt pieces in my stash. I adhered to the upper corner of the page, added the “sweetheart” sentiment and sequins over the heart.

Seventh, this set of pages I added two cut a parts and a staple with my Tiny Attacher.

The opposite page I fussy cut the children out and added glue to the bottom and to the corner of the heart and placed on to the page to create a pocket. I cut down a piece of 6″x6″ patterned cardstock, folded in half and placed in the pocket.

Eighth, these two page I kept simple and added lace to the dotted paper. The opposite page I adhered the tab I had cut off from a file folder to that page along with Ric Rac.

Ninth, I adhered a piece of patterned cardstock to the back of the tab. Also you can see where I stitched the pages into the cover.

Tenth, the next set of pages I used a piece of washing tape to secure the “love you” cut a part to the page to create a tip in/flap. I adhered heart ribbon down the side of the page and I added a button to the flap. The opposite page, I cut a library pocket from Library Pocket ATC Card and Tabs Thinlits from Vellum and put together. I added glue to the bottom and one side of the pocket and placed on the bottom corner of the page.

I glued a label to the pocket. The open circle is actually the tire that was leftover from the a project I made with the Vintage Truck Box Diecut. I glued onto the label and added a chipboard heart and two sequins to complete the pocket. I placed cut a parts and folded pieces of patterned cardstock to the pocket.

Eleventh, the next set of pages, the dotted paper I cut two banners and added adhesive to the top of each and placed in the top corner of the page and a circle punch and a scrap of cardstock. The banner can be used as tuck spots for tags.

The opposite page I added two cut a parts and another staple to finish the page.

Twelfth, the next set of pages I glued two strips of cardstock, one slightly smaller than the other, together before adding adhesive to the top and bottom of the strip before placing onto the page. I embellished with a felt heart and a “love you” sentiment. I also cut a piece of notebook paper down and folded in half. I lightly inked with chalk ink and added a “us forever” rub on the paper before sliding under the belly band.

The smaller page I added patterned cardstock to the envelope and glued a flower and a cut a part to the upper corner of the page. I added two tags to the pocket.

Thirteen, I cut a waterfall card from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits, added a “love” rub on to the card, folded the flap and adhered the smaller flap to the inside of the pocket.

I glued a small tab to the top of the card and a decorative piece of cardstock to the page. The back of the inside cover I used a decorative diecut from my stash and a “happiest day ever” sentiment to complete the inside of the journal.

It felt great to use what I had in my massive amount of supplies to create this journal. Don’t get me wrong I love buying new craft supplies but I am trying to use more of my supplies instead of hoarding them.

Love You Heart Card

Hi everyone! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I would like to share a quick card I created using scraps I had laying on my craft table and the small and medium hearts from Eileen Hull’s Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits. So, let’s get started!

First, I gathered up an assortment of scraps of cardstocks. I also had this scalloped card base that I found in my stash. I had cut it from a diecut by Sizzix but can’t remember the actually name of the die and I can’t find it on Sizzix’s website so I am assuming it is a retired diecut.

Second, I cut the pink piece of cardstock down to fit the base of the card. I placed in it in the Doily 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Diecut Machine. Next, I lightly inked over the raised areas of the embossed cardstock with a hot pink chalk ink and applied Ivory Luster Wax over the inked areas to tone down the hot pink.

Third, I glued the embossed image to the card base. I lightly inked the edges of the scallops with a dark brown chalk ink.

Fourth, I cut two strips of cardstock, one slightly smaller than the other, the width of the embossed image and adhered both into the card base. I cut the smallest and medium size hearts from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits. I lightly inked around the edges of the hearts with the hot pink ink and glued both onto the strips of cardstock.

Fifth, I cut the “love you” sentiment from a cut a part, inked the edges and adhered to the hearts along with a sequin to finish the card.

Floral Fabric Needle Book

Hi everyone! I hope all is well with you and everyone is staying warm. In my neck of the woods we are slowing digging out from under 7 inches of snow and ice and hopefully by the end of the week the temperatures with be in the low 60’s. I function so much better in warmer temps. Anyways, I’m back with a quick project that I created using Eileen Hull’s Needle Book Diecut. So let’s get started!

First, I ironed and cut a piece of piece floral fabric and a piece of Rouge Foundations 04 Cardstock to fit the Needle Book Diecut. I applied an Adhesive Sheet to the cardstock and placed the fabric onto that before placing onto the Needle Book Diecut and running through the Diecut Machine. This diecut has fold lines but since I cut this with thinner materials I folded book in half since you can barely see the “spine” lines to fold. Side note, I was in the moment making this project and didn’t do step out photos…sorry about that.

Second, I cut a file folder out of felt from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits. Instead of punching holes into the cover and the file folder I marked where I wanted to stitch on the spine of the needle book, threaded the needle with thread and sewed the file folder into of the book. I tied off on the inside of the book. I also glued the closure to the back of the book.

Third, I adhered pom pom trim to the closure and a crochet flower.

Fourth, I added needles and pearl top needles to the felt page.

Fifth, I finished by adding a bit of sheer ribbon and a button with thread to the closure. I cut several of the pom poms off the end of the trim before wrapping around the book and tucking under the closure. Those pom poms I cut off will be making an appearance in a later project a few months from now so stay tuned.

This little needle book is so easy to make and I have a few more ideas besides the obvious that I hope to try out soon.

Rouge Floral Sewing Box

Hi everyone! Earlier this month I shared sneak peeks of the latest “It’s all about the Stitching Classic Dies” re-release by Eileen Hull. If you missed that post that I shared you can find that HERE. But today I’m sharing the complete project using the Cantilever Sewing Box Diecut along with a few other dies by Eileen. So let’s get started!

First, I gathered all the scraps of Mat Board I had been saving because the hinges, feet, lids and boxes are small and this is a great way to use up scraps. Side note, there will be a lot of cuts for this project.

Next, I covered mat board for the feet, hinges and lids with Adhesive Sh e ets and placed patterned cardstock from the 6″x8″ Rouge Paper Collection onto the mat board. These are the cuts you will need to make for each of the following parts for the sewing box:

Two Hole Hinges: Eight Cuts

Triple Hole Hinges: Four Cuts

Feet: Two Cuts

Lids: Two Cuts

Boxes: Six Cuts

Second, I didn’t cover the mat board for the boxes since I planned on cutting cardstock from the 12″x12″ Rouge Paper Collection to fit the boxes, this was for the inside and outside of each box. I know that’s a lot of work but is so worth the extra effort for a clean and neat look.

I covered the outside of four of the boxes and two of the boxes I adhered together before covering.

Third, I punched out the holes on the outside before adding the hinges and Brads to each of the boxes. I then cut to fit cardstock for the inside of each box. I also glued the lids to the top boxes.

Fourth, I cut out two leaves, four centers and eight of the smaller flowers from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits, three leaf sprigs from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and two flowers from the Folio Page, Pockets and Flowers Thinlits.

I took all of the flowers that are from the Envelope, Folder and Flowers Thinlits and inked the edges with a red chalk ink before shaping each with a Stylus. I layered and glued four of those flowers on top of each other along with a shaped center and a leaf. I did the same for the other of flower, center and leaves but set those aside.

Next I shaped with a stylus the other two flowers from the Folio Page, Pockets and Flowers Thinlits, another center and the all the leaf sprigs. I adhered one layered flower, sprigs and the other two flowers to the corner of the lid. I did added a flat back pearl to the smallest flower and loops of thread to finish that side of the lid.

Fifth, for the other lid I fussy cut two flowers from one of the sheets of 12″x12″ Rouge Paper Collection, shaped with a stylus and glued on top of each other. I added a leaf and center to the flower before gluing to the lid. I also added more leaf sprigs, the other layered flower, a fussy cut ticket, pearl top pins, lace and loops of thread.

Sixth, I used two sewing bobbins as knobs to open the lids. I adhered to each lid and punched a small circle from cardstock and glue to each spool. I also glued the feet to the bottom of the sewing box.

This sewing box is perfect to store sewing supplies in but would be great to hold craft supplies, candy or add trinkets and give as a gift. What would you do if you created one? Let me know in the comments below.

Throw Back Thursday: Trees and Snowmen Home Decor Piece

Hi everyone! Today I would like to “revisit” an old blog post that I created in 2021 using an empty wax can. A little back story first, I had used the whole can of wax to finish a curio cabinet that I had repainted. I love the “squatty” shape of the can and knew I wanted to use it in some way in a future project and this is what I eventually came up with.

Even though you might not have the exact products I used to create this home decor piece you could use a container that’s stored nut or candy. The snowmen images are from a sheet of stickers. I added a little body powder to the back and that takes away the sticky. Or you can use a printable image such as a snowman or Santa. The choices are endless and just use your imagination.

Happy Holidays Snowflake Mini Slimline Card

Hi everyone! I’m back with a very quick card I created. I was in the “moment” of making this card that I completely forgot to take any step out photos of the process. This card centers on a leftover “Happy Holidays” sentiment from my Holiday Snowman Mini Slimline Card I posted about a few days ago. Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I folded a piece of 6″x6″ snowflake patterned cardstock in half to create the base of the card. I cut the “Happy Holidays” sentiment down and inked the edges with a chalk ink. Also the sentiment is from my Sparkle Snowman Stamp Set which can be found at Blank Page Muse.

Second, I cut two labels and two snowflakes from the Everyday Tags and Labels Thinlits. I embossed the smaller label with the Tablecloth Embossing Folder, lightly inked with a chalk ink before gluing with the sentiment on top of the larger labels.

Third, I glued the first snowflake die to the corner of the label. The second snowflake I added a Foam Pop Dot to the back before placing on top of the other snowflake. I finished by adding a flat back pearl to the center of the snowflake and a couple of sequins to the card base.

How to Create a Stocking from Diecuts

Hi everyone! I’m back with a Christmas stocking I created! This is one of those project that I had actually made last year but never got around to sharing. Christmas time is always a crazy time for me and by the time it had slowed down Christmas was already over. So, I held onto it to share this year. I used the Stocking Gift Card Holder Diecut by Brenda Walton (retired) and the Make it 3D Diecut by Eileen Hull (retired) to create this little treat box. You could use one of Eileen’s other dies that has a “pocket” to create the same 3D effect also. So let’s get started!

First, I applied Adhesive Sheets to both side of a piece of Chipboard, add patterned cardstock to both sides before placing onto the Stocking Gift Card Holder Diecut (retired) and running through the Diecut Machine. I cut two stockings out and three of the “sides” from the Make it 3D Diecut (retired) and those were cut from plain cardstock.

Second, I cut more “notches” into the tabs so they I could manipulate the Make It 3D die “sides” around the edge of the stocking.

Third, after getting the Make It 3D sides adhered around the stocking I started gluing the second stocking onto the other tabs.

Fourth, before the second stocking is completely glued down I cut a strip on cardstock for inside the stocking to cover the different sections of the sides and adhered in place.

Fifth, I cut a strip of patterned cardstock for the outside edge of the stocking and glued around the Make It 3D die sides for a finished look.

Sixth, I cut and glued a piece of lace around the top of the stocking to create a cuff. I also added bits of thread, ribbon, seam binding, cording, pearl spray and a poinsettia and gold leaf to the corner of the stocking.

Seventh, I glued pom pom trim to the edge of both sides of the stocking. I punched a hole in the cuff and tied a piece of ribbon so it can be hung up.
