Chunky Merry Christmas Stocking

Hi everyone! I wanted to hop on today and share a project that I actually created for a swap this past Christmas. I occasionally participate on Instagram with a group of ladies that does swaps. In this particular swap we had to make a stocking from scratch and fill it with handmade and/or store bought goodies.
I found a stocking pattern in a craft book that I had laying around and since I couldn’t quite get the book to lay flat enough to scan and then print it I took the book to Staples and had it enlarged and printed for me. Since the person at the counter at Staples had such a hard time getting it enlarged and printed I wasn’t charged…it pays to be nice especially if it’s busy. 😊 Also you can find stocking images to print out on the internet. All you have to do is search and pick out the image you like best.
I traced the stocking pattern onto a piece of cardstock and cut out two stockings. I cut two and a half of the Make-it 3-D Diecut  (retired) from White Chipboard out but Eileen Hull has other diecuts that can be used such as the “pocket” from the Christmas Snowman Diecut. Plus you have the snowman that could be used as a decoration on the stocking.  
I adhered the tabs of the Make it 3D die to one side of the stocking. I did the same steps for the other side of the stocking. I measured and cut strips of patterned cardstock and adhered to the “wall” Make it 3D diecuts. 
I glued pom pom trim to both sides of the stocking. The lace I adhered to the inside of the stocking and then folded over to create the cuff. I punched a hole in the side and set a Wide Eyelet with a Crop a Dile. I strung about 12 inches of gold trim and tied off at the top.
I started by adding a paper doily and part of a Christmas snowflake ornament (part of it was damaged) to the corner of the cuff. I built up the layers by using Foam Pop Dots on the back of Christmas diecuts so I could add greenery, over sized beads, pearl sprays, poinsettias and thread bows underneath.
I added small wrapped gifts inside and mailed off to my swap partner. I think I will be making more this year since I now have all the kinks worked out and I know exactly have I will put it together. I stumbled through the process since this was the first one I had ever made. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Collect Beautiful Moments Box with Eileen Hull

Hi everyone! I am super excited to share Eileen Hull’s newest  Gift Box with Scalloped Edges and Label Diecut from her Chapter One Collection! There is so much you can do with this diecut. The obvious is a box that you can add a gift inside if you like, a book or just decorate and use as a home decor piece.
For my project I used cardstock and cut a parts from an old Recollections paper pad I had. After I put the box together according to the directions I adhered corner protectors to each corner of the box and gems. 
  I raided my stash of paper flowers and other paper ephemera and added to the box.
I also used chipboard embellishments and stickers from Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes. I tried to add as much dimension as I could to each side. I accomplished this adding Foam Pop Dots to the back of the embellishments.
The top of the box I adhered a doily, decorative diecut, buttons, paper flower and a bow made from cording.

Pretty Posies Trinket Box

Hi everyone! I’m back with the full reveal of one of my projects from Eileen Hull’s newest diecut collection! This diecut is called the Treasure Box Diecut and this project along with the other Inspiration Teams projects were shown at Creativation! So exciting!
 
I cut two sides of each for the bottom and top parts and a top and bottom from Matboard. I also inked the outside edges of the lid and bottom. I used the Authentique Imagine Paper Collection to cover the inside and outside of my trinket box. I added the clasp to the lid and bottom. 
And the hinges I had in my stash. I measured, punched holes and added those instead of the hinge diecuts that you can cut from the diecut. 
I added the “feet” to the bottom of the box and corner protectors to the corners of the lid. I adhered Pom Pom trim around the top and bottom of the box.
Inside the box I adhered patterned cardstock and added trim around the edges of the lid and bottom of the box.
I adhered an assortment of patterned cardstock, vellum and lace to the top of the box. I added a paper doily from my stash.
The leaves and flowers are from the Journaling Cards, Flowers and Leaves Diecut (retired)and are cut from crinoline fabric. I inked the flowers with Sunshine Blends Ink (retired)and the leaves are inked with the Frog and Leaf Blends Inks .(retired) I also added store flowers from my stash and twine to finish off the lid. Eileen Hull: Love Notes Card

Hi everyone! I’m back with another project I created this past January for Eileen Hull’s newest diecut collection called Book Club Chapter 2 to display at Creativation. At the time I made this card Valentine’s Day was around the corner but this could be used as an anniversary or just because I love you card too. To get started I folded a piece of 6″x12″ patterned cardstock in half to create a 6″x6″ base for the card.

First I layered different pieces of cardstock to the card base before adhering to the card along with a gold paper heart doily.

I cut two strips of cardstock 2″x6″ and 3″x6″ and with a decorative punch I punched a border along the length of each piece of  cardstock. I found the center of each piece of cardstock and cut down the center leaving about an inch from the bottom not cut.

The 3″x6″ piece of cardstock I adhered the sides and bottom to the card base. I did leave an inch on each side not glued to the card because this will need to be “rolled”. Complete the same steps on the 2″x6″ piece of cardstock as the 3″x6″ piece.

Before “stuffing” the pocket I cut one of the Heart Journaling Card Dies from white cardstock, lightly inked the edges  and adhered to the card base along with a piece of vellum.

I used the Graphic 45 Mon Amour Tags and Pockets and Mon Amour Decorative Chipboard embellishments also on the card. The G45 envelope I added one of the mini hearts from the Heart Journaling Card Dies as a closure to hold the envelope flap down.

Five and Dime Mini Album

Hi everyone! I’m back with a fun little album I created with toilet paper rolls, Eileen Hull’s Book Binding Diecut and Amyjdelightful’s Small Town Feel Printable. I was selected to be a “Project Girl” for Amy this month on her instagram page which you can find HERE.

I gathered up an assortment of cardstock, leftover scraps, four of 1.75″ Expander Discs and a pair of scissors and began fussy cutting all of the images out from the printable.

Before I embellished I flattened, added patterned cardstock to each TP roll and used the Book Binding Diecut  before adding pockets and tuck spots to the pages.

I cut a Medallion Diecut out and adhered the 25 cent printable to the center.

The paper bow I received in a swap so I added a flower to the center before embellishing the page.

 I cut some of the tags with the Bookplate, Hinges and Label Diecuts. and added printables and tabs.

On the backside of the tags I adhered some of the printables to create mini pockets to hold tags.

Christmas Time Disc Mini Album

Hi everyone! I am back to share the full reveal of my Christmas Time mini album using Eileen Hull’s newest Book Club Diecut Collection! 


I used the Book and Pages, Trinket Book and Frame Diecut to cut the covers, from Mat Board and the inside pages from the Merry and Bright Cardstock Pad. Also I used four Happy Planner Mini Disc for the binding.


I used Moss Glimmer Mist on the outside and inside of the both covers and once dry I added patterned cardstock, a scalloped circle from the Bookplate, Hinges and Label Collection and the number 25 was cut from the Billboard diecut. I finished off with three square gems and fiber, ribbon and twine on one of the disc.


The inside cover I adhered a two of the corners of the pocket from the Bookmark, Tag and Pocket Collection to create another pocket to hold a label, which I folded, from the Bookplate, Hinges and Label Collection.


I created a belly band which I added a seal diecut to the band and added a label diecut as a tag which can be used as a journaling card or for mini photos. On the opposite page I added the word “moments” from the Floral Arch and Words Collection for a simple embellishment.


The top of the page I added a label and dress it up with a sentiment and sequin. I adhered a wooden joy frame to the bottom corner of the page as a pocket to hold a label diecut and a mini tag.


The opposite page I free handed a tree and inked and glued the star from the Bookplate, Hinges and Label Collection to the top of the tree.


The next two pages are simple I created another belly band which I used an old Christmas present label as a tag and a piece of ric rac and a button dressed up the other page.


I adhered a bookmark to the bottom corner of the page to create a pocket.


I added label diecuts and a Christmas present tag to the bookmark and the inside cover I finished off with patterned cardstock and a Santa from my stash.

Bits and Pieces Mini Junk Journal

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a few photos and a mini video of a journal I created for Magnolia Exchange swap I am in. This month’s theme was mini mail whatever you send to your swap partner can’t be no bigger than 3″x4″.

After being paired up with my swap partner I decided to create a mini junk journal for her. 

She liked all colors and liked all animals wither they had fur or was scaly. So I tried my best to include what I had in animal images through out the journal.

I raided my stash of stickers, scraps of cardstock and embellishments to decorate the inside. 

Also I included a quick flip through video so you can see more of the inside.

Peach and Lace Wedding Album

Hi everyone! I am here to share a wedding album that I was asked to create for a friend. Be sure to get comfy since this post is photo loaded. 😊 The requirements for this album it had to be at least 5″x7″, ten pages for a total of twenty pages front and back, be vintage and use the colors peach and gray.


Well, I had leftover peach cardstock from my son and daughter in law’s wedding but a lot of the cardstock had gold mixed in the design. So I, of course, had to make some trips to Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, etc. 😉 to find gray and peach cardstock and peach colored flowers.

Next I had to decide on what to create the cover out of and how thick the spine needed to be to hold all the embellishments and other goodies. I sure didn’t want the album to look like a “V” once I finished…I’ve created a few like that in the past since I didn’t allow for all the embellishments. 😒

After much thought I decided a three inch spine should be wide enough. I used an empty saltine box and cut down and scored to create a 5 1/2″x71/2″ for the front and back and the three inch spine. I covered the front and back with cardstock and the spine with five different types of lace.

The inside there are five signatures with two 5″x7″ pages per signature. I added a variety of patterned cardstock, diecuts and embellishments to each page. Through out the album is pockets,tags and pull outs for journaling or where more photos can be added.


The flowers I had found at Michael’s and I thought were the perfect shade of peach but after I got them home they looked more pink in color so I painted them with Soft Peach Simply Sheer Mist. It definitely made a difference in the color of them.

I was also asked to somehow incorporate the wedding invitation into the album. I had to cut down the invitation since it was larger than the album but I was able to make it work by adding an open sided pocket to the inside cover.

Mini Bird Junk Journal

Hi everyone! Has the weather started warming up where you live? Here for the most part we have had days in the 70’s to upper 80’s with everything in full bloom. I think we have skipped Spring and jump right on into Summer. 😎
I wanted to share my finished junk journal with you all. Do you remember I did a how to on how to stitch this journal? If not you can find that post HERE. Well, here is the finished project!


I used a variety of scraps of cardstock, stickers and bits and pieces I had laying around to create this little journal.


I even used a paperbag that held silverware in it from Chili’s to add tags to.



The blurbs I cut from packaging and added Stickles for some interest and of course I have to always add a paper doily to any journal I create. 😊


I forgot to add that I sewed in a total of six papers and that is including the paperbag. 


I love how chunky this little journal turned out!
