Warm Wishes Slimline Card

Hi everyone! I’m back with my project for Eileen Hull and this month’s theme is anything Halloween or Fall. I choose to do something Fall because I had a card base already cut out and it was screaming at me to make a card. I used the Journal Diecut and the Floral Silhouette Thinlits (only on Scrapbook.com) to create this card. So let’s get started!

I know I’ve shared the dimensions of a slimline card before but I will share again a traditional slimline card measures 3 5/8″x8 5/8″ which is about the size of the Journal Diecut.

I folded a piece of Kraft Cardstock in half and place slightly below the cutline. I also used wash tape to hold the cardstock in place as I run it through the diecut machine.

I’m a firm believer in using up what you have and since I had a pile of cardstock scraps I dug through those and came up with some that had the “look” of fall. I arranged and adhered layers of patterned cardstocks to the base of the card.

I had a 12″x12″ sheet of floral cut a parts with an assortment of sentiments and I picked the “Warm Wishes” sentiment because it had the look of Fall. I cut a piece of cardstock slightly larger than the sentiment and glued both together before adding Foam Pop Dots to the back and placing onto the card base.

From the Floral Silhouette Thinlits I cut out three of the larger, two middle and four small flowers along with five centers and three of the leaf sprigs. I shaped the larger flowers with a Stylus and added adhesive to the back and layered on top of each other. I shaped three of the smallest and one of the middle flowers, gluing one of the smallest flowers on the middle flower before adding all around the larger flower. I finished by adding the centers to each flower, leaf sprigs and a bow made from cording.

I had a leftover middle and small sized flowers which I glued together, added a center and leaf sprig to complete the card.

I plan on making more slimline cards and using up the cut a parts so I will have a stash of cards on hand for different occasions.

Blue Delft Box with Greeting Cards

Hi everyone! This month it’s a big box bonanza over on Eileen Hull’s blog! I had two 8.5″x11″ sheets of this blue and white floral cardstock that I wanted to make something with and I thought the Card Caddy Diecut and an assortment of thinlits by Eileen would make the perfect gift box of cards. I limited the color pallet of the embellishments on the cards to shades of light green and different shades of blue since the base of each card is white. Anyways, this is my take for this month’s challenge. So let’s get started!

I cut a piece of Mat Board down since my cardstock was smaller than the mat board, applied Adhesive Sheets to both sides and placed the patterned cardstock on what will be the front and a solid cardstock on what will be the inside of the box. I placed the larger piece of mat board between the plates and run through the Diecut Machine. I did the same steps for the two smaller pieces which are the sides of the box.

The flaps/tabs on the sides and bottom I “peeled” some of the cardstock and mat board off before adhering both to either side of the box. Side note, this makes the flaps/tabs lay flatter when gluing to the box.

I cut out labels and flowers from the Everyday Tags and Labels Thinlits. I layered the labels and adhered to the center of the box. I shaped the flowers and leaves with a Stylus before adhering all to the center of the label.

I folded White Cardstock in half and placed slightly below the cutline of the panel thinlit, this die can be found in the Starlit Village and Card Panel Thinlits, and cut out a total of four cards.

I used the Crochet Mandala Embossing Folder and embossed strips of cardstock for each of the cards. For the first card I used the tag, labels, leaves and flowers from the Everyday Tags and Labels Thinlits and cut out the word “hello” from the Alphanumeric Thinlit. I also used the oval die from the Journaling Card, Envelope and Windows Thinlits to decorate the card base.

For the second card I used the same supplies with a slightly different layout but used a “hi” sentiment instead.

The third card I changed it up a bit and used the negative parts of the letters to spell “hi” and the floral and circle tags. I also shaped the small flowers and leaves and adhered to the sentiment.

The fourth and final card I used the same supplies as the third card but I used the negative letters that spell “hey” and glued to the base of the card.

The cards fit perfectly inside the box laying down.

Or standing up.

You are the Sweetest Slimline Card

Hi everyone! I want to share a quick and cheery slimline card I created using Eileen Hull’s Journal Diecut, Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits, Ornament Box Diecut and Tablecloth Embossing Folder. So let’s get started!

First, I placed a folded piece of cardstock slightly below the cut line of the Journal Diecut, sandwiched between the plates and run through the Diecut Machine. A side note the slimline card size is 3 1/2″x8 1/2″ and the Journal Diecut is the perfect size to create this size card.

I cut a piece of patterned cardstock slightly smaller than the card base, rounded the corner with a Corner Punch before adhering to the base. I cut a polk-a-dot strip of cardstock the length of the base and glued onto the front.

I placed the Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits onto a piece of patterned cardstock and run through the Diecut Machine. I glued off center of the base. From another project I had leftover tickets that I added. I cut a circle from the Ornament Box Diecut and embossed with the Tablecloth Embossing Folder I placed slightly off center of the tickets, added a lemon image I had fussy cut from cardstock and a “You are the Sweetest” sentiment from Simple Stories: Lemon Twist to finish the card.

Happy Day Swan Card

Hi everyone! I’m back with a mini slimline card that I created using Eileen Hull’s new Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits and a few other of her other products. So let’s get started!

First, I folded a piece of 6″x6″ White Cardstock in half to create a card base. Next I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than the base of the card, placed into the Tablecloth 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Diecut Machine. I lightly inked the raised embossed areas, placed Foam Pop Dots to the back before placing onto the card base.

I cut one strip of tickets and one background from the Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits and adhered the tickets on top of the background.

Next, I glued the tickets onto the card base.

I had received this swan medallion in a swap I had participated a couple of years ago and instead of hoarding it I decided I would use it on the card. I did change the sentiment that was on it by placing a “happy day” sticker over the other sentiment. I glued the medallion off center of the card.

I dug into my stash of flowers and leaves, I had cut these from the Folio Page Pocket and Flowers Thinlits, I shaped and glued two of the flowers on top of each other along with a sequin and a gem and added leaf sprigs before adhering to the corner of the medallion. Side note…why does it seem like when you photograph something you never see if there is a piece of fussy or in this case a hair attached until after all photos are taken and you are editing and you can’t do anything about it? Why?

Let’s Make a Snowman Card with the Skinny Mini Book Box Diecut

Hi everyone! I’m back today with card I created using my very own Sparkles Snowman Happy Holidays Stamp Set. You can find it over at Blank Page Muse HERE. It’s still a pinch me moment that I actually have a stamp set! I also used the Skinny Mini Book Box and a few other thinlits, embossing folder and etc. which I’ll share as I get more into making this card. Let’s get started!

First off, I folded a piece of cardstock in half and placed slightly below the cut line on the Skinny Mini Book Box and run through the Diecut Machine.

I used several scraps of plain and patterned cardstock and adhered to the front of the card base. I cut a strip of cardstock and placed into the 3D Crochet Mandala Embossing Folder and run through the diecut machine. I lightly inked over the raised edges before gluing to the card base.

I placed the snowman face and sentiment onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with Black Ink and stamped onto a piece Watercolor Paper and cut out both.

I watercolored the snowman and once dry added Stickles to the image.

Next I matted the snowman image before adding to the card base and placed a White Diamond Dotz on each eye.

I cut out several snowflakes from the following thinlits and diecut: Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits, Doodle Christmas Thinlits and 3D Impresslits Snowflake Diecut (retired). I added one snowflake to the base before gluing the matted snowman on top of that.

I layered two of the snowflakes, added Foam Pop Dots to the backs of two and placed onto the base. I glued the smaller snowflake directly to the base, added gems to the center of each one.

I finished by matting the sentiment and adhering underneath the snowman image and adding loops of metallic to the snowflakes.

Hey Friend Card

Hi everyone! As I’m slowly getting back into the swing of crafting, from a busy couple of months of things pertaining to family and all things summer, I want to share a card I created for Eileen Hull’s Inspiration Team! This month’s theme is cards and I used the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits along with a few other dies, embossing folder and thinlits by Eileen. So let’s get started!

I originally was going to cover a per-cut card base with the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlit and do the usual decorating. But when I I placed the Thinlits onto the piece of glittered cardstock ( I ran the die through the machine two times) it didn’t cut through. Instead of tossing I decided I would fold in half and create a card base. I did back the inside with a piece of light pink cardstock before decorating the front.

Next I cut out the circle from the Ornament Box Diecut and embossed with the Woven Leather 3D Embossing Folder. I lightly inked over the raised areas before adhering to the card base.

I dug into my big stash of scraps and cut out flowers, wreath and leaf sprigs from the following thinlits: Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and Folio Page, Pocket and Flowers Thinlits. I placed Foam Pop Dots onto the back of two strips of patterned cardstock and placed onto the card base.

Next I glued a piece of wood looking cardstock under the raised patterned cardstock along with the wreath die.

I shaped the flowers and leaf sprigs with a Stylus and adhered to the card base.

I added Glossy Dots to the centers of each flower. Also I printed, cut and chalked the edges of a “Hey Friend!” sentiment and placed onto the card to finish.

Listen to Your Heart

Hi everyone! I want to share a card I created with you all today. At Christmas I received a craft box as a gift that had an assortment of card blanks, patterned cardstock, diecuts, stickers, etc. in it. I finally dug out one of the card blanks and decided to decorate it and this is what I created.

First off I used a Paisley Embossing Folder (I found this at Joann’s) and placed the front half of the card in the folder and ran through the Diecut Machine. Next I inked over the raised edges with an assortment of chalk inks.

There was a sheet of floral cardstock that I fussy cut several of the flowers and foliage out. I also dug into my stash of cardstock scraps and adhered to the front of the card. I placed Foam Pop Dots to the back of the sentiment and placed onto the front along with the fussy cut images.

I finished by adding gems to the sentiment tag and the center of one of the flowers and adding lace, loops of thread and Stickles to the berries.

There you have it! Hopefully soon…I’ll get around to creating something else from this craft box.

Maker Forte, Eileen Hull and a Special Delivery Card

Hi everyone! Today is the day for Eileen Hull’s newest stamp release with Maker Forte! I used two of the stamps from the Snail Mail-Postage Stamp Set and an assortment of Eileen’s diecuts to create this gift card holder. Let’s get started!

First I cut two “solid card” and one “postage” diecuts from the Snail Mail Thinlits.

Next I folded and adhered the top and bottom edges of the “postage” die (leaving the long side open) to each side of the of the “solid card”.

I ran the Mandala Thinlit through the Diecut Machine, cut the Mandala die in half and glued underneath the “pocket” on the front of the card.

I placed the stamps onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with Brown Ink and stamped onto a piece of Cream Cardstock.

I dug into my stash and used flowers and leaves from Flowers and Leaves Thinlits (retired) to add to the stamp images along with a cut a part sentiment and thread to finish off the card. Just add a gift card and write a note inside and it’s ready to give!
