Sugar and Spice

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a mini recipe album I created for Canvas Corp’s Save a Recipe Challenge. I started with two of the Black and Ivory File Folders as the cover of for my recipe album.
First I cut the tab off of the striped folder.

Score at the fold 1/4″ three times on the back side of the striped folder.

The diamond pattern folder cut one inch off the tab end and scored 1/4″ four times on the front side of the folder. Measure and mark 1 1/2″ three times down spine of folder and punch for a total of six tiny holes.

Run three Small Binding Rings through the holes.

Adhere the diamond folder on top of the striped folder.

Now for the fun part I decorated the cover with a doily, twine, flowers, a mini Recipe Card and black tulle along with a flour sack, baking powder and barely pears that I fussy cut from the General Store on Ivory Cardstock

I also used the following Tattered Angels Glimmer and Chalkboard Mists ( Moss, Mint Julip, Ruby Red Slipper, Monolith) to add a little to color to the images I fussy cut. The flour bag I also tied red burlap thread to the ends of the bag for a fun look. I added the fork and spoon from the Cutlery Set to finish off the cover.

I cut a sheet of the Bake and Can Recipe Cards a part, punched holes and added to the album and the inside cover is decorated with the Farmhouse Kitchen Stripe Cardstock.

Also I forgot to mention on the front cover I cut and adhered a 1 1/2″ x5″ piece of Black and Kraft Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock on top of the doily before I added all the other embellishments. I punched a hole on the overlapping tab and also punched a hole in the crease and threaded twine though both holes and tied off to create a closure.
If you have any questions about this recipe album please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Travel Journal

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a few photos and a quick video of a travel journal I created for a swap I am in over on Junk Journal Junkies Facebook Group. Lori aka Just a Girl From the Bay from YouTube hosted this swap. If you get a chance please stop by her YouTube channel and check out some of her journals she has created…let me say they are stunning!!!

For this swap we had to use a 6″x9″ clasp envelope as the base for our journal. It also had to have pockets, tuck spots and tags. I kept the inside pretty simple so whoever winds up with my journal will have plenty of room to add photos and places to journal.

A close up of the flap.

The spine looked so naked that I added ribbon and fiber to it.

Here is a quick flip through video showing the inside. If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Crafty Card Gallery: Celebration Seeds

Hi there! I know it has been awhile since my last post but me and my hubby are now first time grandparents…we are very happy, my son moved but stayed in state…insert a crying face even if we are two hours away and I have FINALLY started my long awaited craft room which we are still in the middle of doing. My parents came over to help and I am so thankful for them because I would have pulled out my hair with some of the crazy things that happened with the ceiling. After scraping the popcorn off the ceiling the paint crackled and flaked not once but three times which wasn’t fun let me tell you. That meant scraping three different times and dealing with dust but now it looks great along with the new paint color that is on the walls. Hopefully next week my parents will be back to install the new floors. 🙂
Well, I would like to share a card I created for Crafty Card Gallery and this month’s theme is flowers. What I created isn’t a card but a little gift bag which you can put a card inside, gift card or something fun.
I started out with a 5″x7 1/2″ Large Paper Bag which I cut the “flap” off and punched the top of the bag with a decorative punch. Cut and adhered a 5″x5″ piece from the Take Our Breath Away Gypsy Moments Cardstock and ink the edges with green chalk ink. Then I adhered a Black Bookmark off center of the bag.

I cut the Best Wishes image from the Seed Packets on Ivory Cardstock. I love this collection. You can leave it as is or add paint/color the image.

I used pop dots to raise the image off of the bag. I also used thread, tulle, lace, pearl sprays, paper flowers and buttons to finish off the bag. I hope you like what I created and if you have any questions please let me know.

House Warming Invitations

Hi everyone! I am here to share three cards I created for a Canvas Corp crew challenge.

I used the 6″x6″ Black & Kraft Cardstock Paper Pack which is perfect to make 3″x6″ card bases with. The photo below is how I created the “peaks” of the house roof and once I measured and cut I folded sides to the inside of the card and adhered the edges along with the bottom edge to create a pocket.
I painted the Farmhouse Christmas Holiday Door Tag with Silk Glimmer Mist and Mint Julip Glimmer Mist…I sprayed this on a deposable tray and then painted onto the door. The wreath I used Moss Glimmer Mist and I let the tags dry.

I used scraps of Blue & Ivory Mini Dot Reverse, Green & Ivory Dot Reverse, Tan & Ivory French Script and I used the back side of Santa’s Journey: Roof Top Cardstock to decorate the doors and to create banners for the welcome sign which was printed from the computer. Also I pulled threads from a piece of Natural Burlap to make the bows which I adhered to the bottom of each roof.

I added to the roof of each house scraps of lace, pom pom trim and rich rac and then finished off with buttons, sequins and a flat back pearl. The invite I printed from the computer and then cut to size to fit inside of the house.
If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Tattered Tangle Tea Cup

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a project I created for a challenge among the crew over at Canvas Corp. We had to showcase Tattered Tangle Paper from our point of view and this is my take on it. I must admit I struggled with this challenge. Zentangles is something I admire when other artists do it but as far as me…ummmm…no. It’s just not my style or so I thought. I was sent the Stripes: Tangles Paper 12×12 sheet along with a few other pieces like three months ago and as the days and then months ticked away I still hadn’t come up with anything. The Zantangle stripes weren’t speaking to me. I didn’t want to do the obvious card or layout I wanted to do something out of the box but what? Well, the diamond shaped pattern of one of the Zentangles I thought might be cool if I could create one of the tea cups I like to make so much but the only problem the stripes weren’t that big. I decided to size the tea cup and saucer template down to 5″x7″image and print, cut out and trace onto the desired print which worked out nice. Side note you will have to trace and cut the cup handle out twice and glue together so you will have a pattern on both sides.

Before adhering everything together I spritzed the Tattered Angels Silk Glimmer Mist and the Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Glimmer Mist on a disposable plastic tray and alternated painting the diamonds in those colors and then let dry. Once I put everything together I glued tissue in the bottom of the teacup and then added the two of the Gypsy Mini Ephemera pieces to the inside of the cup and adhered lace around that to hide the tissue paper. I then added trim, flowers, pearl sprays, thread and cut leaves from scraps of Green & Ivory Dot Reverse and Green & Ivory Ribbon Stripe to finish off the tea cup.
If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Hello Spring!

Hi everyone!  I don’t know about you but I am SO over all of this cold weather and I am SO ready for spring and with it the warmer weather, flowers and trees with all their green foliage. All I want to do is stay bundled up with a cover and not move off the couch…lol. Well, I want to share a card I created awhile back for a magazine call but it wasn’t selected. The original card had ribbon with the button but after looking at it I decided I just didn’t like how it looked and removed the ribbon and added the polk a dot banner and moved the button off center from the Hello Spring sentiment.

I think the updated version looks better than the ribbon I had original used. Don’t you think?

For this card I used some product that would normally be used for Christmas and beach/ocean theme projects but I thought would work perfectly with the design of the card. 🙂 I started out with a 5″x7″ Kraft card as the base for the card. The rabbit is fussy cut from the Farmhouse Market on Ivory Cardstock and then I applied Champagne Glimmer Glaze to the image and once that dried I added a little bit of Crystal Stickles to the tail and I applied some pink chalk to the cheek of the rabbit.

I added all the different layers of cardstock to the top of the card. I used the Spellbinders Bead Circles dies and I printed the sentiment from the computer and I finished off with a button, sequin and a dew drop.

Also I would like to submit this card for the following challenge:

I hope you like the card and if you have any questions please let me know.

"Tweet"-ness

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a project I created for Eileen Hull’s Art with Heart Project of Love Challenge. I used the Sizzix Scoreboards XL Die Box Square which I cut from the Sizzix Mat Board Pack 6 Cream Sheets.  One of the box sides I cut  off the lid so it could be open. I then cover with Express Yourself Gypsy Moments Cardstock on the outside and on the inside I covered with Express Yourself Gypsy Moments Cardstock. I decorated the front with hearts that was diecut and punched along with a little bird that I fussy cut from the Conservatory Paper Pack. I finished off the front with some cute embellishments, adhered trim around the top of the box and the screw fasteners I added to the bottom of the box.

The files I cut from the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 4pk with Stamps Gypsy Files but I wanted the files longer so I folder the cardstock in half and cut and I then cut papers from both the Conservatory and the Morceaux paper pads and adhered to both sides. I created pockets from the Poses and Reflections Gypsy Moments Cardstock and added embellishments along with Conservatory tags.

Backside of the file tags.

These tags are actually packaging from some 7 Gypsy product.

The backside of the tags I didn’t have to add much just a little bit of paper, Postale Paper Tape and twine.

I wasn’t sure how everything was going to turn out when I started but I can honestly say I love the “tweet” little bird and hearts on the front of the box along with all the tags inside the box. 🙂 If you have any questions about this project or any of the products I used please let me know.
Supply List:
7 Gypsies-Express Yourself Gypsy Moments Cardstock, Postale Paper Tape, Conservatory 6×6 2 sided Paper Variety Pack, Conservatory Round Tags, Morceaux 6×6 Paper Variety Pack, Poses and Reflections Gypsy Moments Cardstock , Canvas Corps-Tan and Ivory French Script Cardstock

Moments

Hi everyone! I wanted to share this card I created using the Sizzix Card, Retro Camera diecut that I bought at Hobby Lobby on clearance for only $7.49. LOVE deals like this! I ran a piece of Brown on Brown Glitter Cardstock through my diecut machine. I also embossed at the fold of the card using the Tim Holtz Texture Fades Dot-Matrix embossing folder. I had decided I was going to go steampunk with this camera. So next I cut the “zipper teeth” off of a piece of zipper which I adhered to card. I cut a small piece of vellum which I inked and then glued to the inside of the card to created the view window and added two 7 Gypsies Dome Studs for the button.

I started with Sprightly Sprockets gear diecuts and before I adhered them to the top of the card I spritzed some with Tattered Angels Verdigris Glimmer Mist and let dry. I also added some Tim Holtz gears, a gold sequin and a brown dew drop.

I also used a bottle cap as part of the lens too.

I added the “moments” coin to the flash and finished off with a dew drop. Later I think I will try to create a mini album with this camera diecut. 🙂 If you have any questions about this card please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Sunday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Canvas Corp: Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Hi everyone! I’m here to share my very first project as a Marketing Contributor:Papercrafts for Canvas Corp. The whole CCB Crew was given a 4×4 Stretched Natural Canvas to decorate anyway we wanted as long as it represented me/my style. Well, this is what I came up with. First I spritzed with both, Bahama Blue Glimmer MistMint Julip Glimmer Mist on the canvas and let dry.

I used a combination of Maritime 6×6 Paper PadPoses and Reflections Gypsy Moments CardstockConservatory 6×6 Paper Pad, to decorate the front and sides of the canvas along with a few embellishments I had on hand.

This is one of my favorite sayings and knew it was the perfect choice to be included. The gems that I used on the butterfly as its body is from an old prom dress.

The dancer I fussy cut from the Poses and Reflections Gypsy Moments Cardstock and I added the butterfly wings which I cut from the Conservatory 6×6 Paper Pad. I finished her off with a little banner I cut from scraps, beads and twine.
This is the first time I have ever had a chance to decorate a canvas and let me tell you. I am hooked!!! I had so much fun with this that I bought some more to try my hand at…so stay tuned to see what I come up with on those. 😉
If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Canvas Corp Cards at CHA

Hi everyone! It seems like it has been awhile since my last post but I needed to take a moment and be still. I had been non-stop all the way up until the first of the year working on design team projects. I was also asked by Camille from Canvas Corp if they sent me cardstock (new product) would I be willing to do cards for the possibility of being used at CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) or being used in an upcoming look-book. Well, of course I said yes. 🙂 I came up with 12 cards which I mailed off at the last possible moment (December 31st) and was very happy that it arrived in Camille’s hands on the 3rd of January.
I am now able to share with everyone since CHA is over with. Also Jennifer from Crafty Card Gallery had gone to CHA and took photos of my cards on display which I included some in this blog post.
Hope you enjoy the cards. 🙂

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

P.S. I revamped my blog and had a new banner designed by Tiffany Jane which I think she did an awesome job on! 🙂
