Rustic Christmas Stocking

Hi everyone! Canvas Corp and Petaloo Flowers are blog hopping together and I want to share a  project I created using the Large Burlap Stocking and Petaloo DIY Burlap Flowers which can be painted or misted to compliment your projects. I don’t own a sewing machine and I sure didn’t want to hand sew everything to the stocking so I used Beacon Adhesives Fabri-Tac. It “grabs” fast and dries quick which I love!
I started by adding from my own stash green Ric Rac and red pom poms to the cuff of the stocking.

I misted two of the larger DIY flowers with Gold Glimmer Mist and set a side. The smaller DIY flower I sprayed Plain Jane Baseboard Fire Mist into a disposable bowl and added a couple of drops of water and mixed and with a small paint brush applied the mixture to the flower and let dry. Once the larger flowers are dry I used the leftover Fire Baseboard mist and lightly applied color around the center.
I used the Holly Branch diecut to cut out three holly leaves from a 12×12 sheet of Green Burlap. I then applied Mod Podge to both sides of the leaves and once dry I spritzed on one side Kiwi Glimmer Mist.
Next I made a couple bows from the Natural Jute and Lime Green Hemp. Also I cut two three inch pieces of lace from the Lace Trimmings Assorted Pack, gathered in the center and  folded to make what looks like a fan and tied off with the Natural Jute. Now for the fun part arranging everything on the cuff. I added in a couple of buttons too for some visual interest.

Now it is finished and ready for Santa to fill with goodies. If you do have any questions about this project please let me know.
Be sure to hop over the Canvas Corp’s blog HERE to see other decorated stockings for a chance to win up to eight stockings to decorate for your own family. Also hop on over to Petaloo blog HERE for a chance to win a prize package to make your holiday merry!

Ghost Passport Mini Journal

Hi everyone! I am here to share my mini passport journal for this month’s s Hauntings and Holidays for Eileen Hull’s inspiration team project.
This is the first time using the Passport Book diecut and I can honestly say I LOVE IT!!! And I can see me using this one over and over again since I love creating junk journals so much.

I used a variety of leftover stickers, embellishments, printables from previous projects and swaps to create this little journal. The pumpkin diecut is from Tim Holtz and the Frame diecut is from Brenda Walton.

The covers and spine are cut from Mat Board and I stitched the pages in with black thread and then tied fiber, lace and ribbon on to the thread to add more color.

I used the following Halloween collections from Canvas Corp, 7 Gypsies and The Robin’s Nest for the pages inside the journal.

Also I included a little video to let you have a look inside.

If you have any questions about this project please let me know. Be sure to check out the rest of the teams projects because I am sure they will knock your socks off. Also each month there is an Art with Heart Challenge that you can link your own project up to the blog and there is a chance to win one of Eileen’s diecuts too. Now who doesn’t love winning??? 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Tick Tock a Fairy is in the Clock

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a project I created Tim’s Holtz’s Tick Tock Clock diecut and part of Eileen Hull’s  Cookie Box diecut. I had got my inspiration from Lisa’s blog and you can find her post here..I had got the clock diecut on clearance but had never used it and after seeing Lisa’s take on the clock I just knew I had to create one for myself.

I cut two of the clock images from mat board but cut the top part(the bells and handle) off of one of the dies and then embossed with the Cracked embossing folder

From the cookie box diecut I cut out the “walls” one and a half times and embossed with the Dot Matrix embossing folder.
I sprayed one side of all the diecut pieces with Tattered Angels Verdigris spray and let dry. I absolutely LOVE the end result! The finish gives the clock an old and weathered look. Next I lined the inside of the clock with cardstock from the Conservatory 6″x6″ Paper Collection and then adhered all the pieces together.

I added bits and pieces of dried moss to the inside. Then printed and fussy cut the fairy image which I found from the Land of Nod blog and adhered it to moss. I made sure there was a good amount of moss behind the image so it would stand up straight.

I used several different flower punches to create from the following Canvas Corp cardstock: Pink and Ivory Zebra and Yellow and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse cardstocks flowers which I shaped and added sequins and Dew Drops to the centers. The leaves I cut from the Gypsy Moments: 12×12 Take Our Breath Away cardstock using the Spring Greenery Diecut which I shaped also.

I adhered the flowers, leaves and pearl sprays around the fairy and to the top of the clock. I can honestly say this is my most favorite project…at the moment! 😉 Thanks to Lisa’s blog post I would have never thought to use this clock the way she did. 🙂
If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Saturday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Vintage Autumn Drawer

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a quick project I created for Eileen Hull’s August Choose Your Own Theme Art with Heart Challenge. It seems like the last couple of months I have got my project finished only hours from the deadline but I have had my son’s wedding which I had to create fans since it was an outside wedding and the usual home stuff, plus starting phase two of remodeling…scraping popcorn off of the ceiling…pray for me ;-D and crafts for other design teams. But hopefully I can get back on track and knock the coming months out in plenty of time. 🙂

I used the Eileen Hull’s Candy Drawer which I cut from mat board and covered it with the 7 Gypsies Conservatory 6″x6″ Paper Pad Collection.

I distressed and inked smaller pieces of the Conservatory Collection and adhered randomly to the drawer. I didn’t like the finish of the drawer pull so I painted and applied a coat of Tattered Angels Champagne Glimmer Glaze and let dry before attaching to the drawer.

I added velvet trim and a couple of buttons to the bottom of the box.

A look at the back of the drawer…I tried to use all of the leftover scraps. I love the patchwork effect!

I punched flowers and leaves from 7 Gypsies Venice Collection (discontinue), shaped and then added tulle, twine, thread and dew drops to finish off this drawer. There you have it a vintage drawer with an autumn twist. If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Wedding Bliss

Hi everyone! I am here to share a mini album I created for a friend to give as a wedding gift. The colors of the wedding are a mix of mint green, pink, gold, cream and it also had to have a vintage feel to it.
The wooden frame I have had it for several years and finally found a use for it. I painted it with Tattered Angels Decor and DIY Ivory. This I used as the cover for the album. I used several different embellishments I had on hand. I so loved how the cover looks.

I cut from both of the following collections:  7 Gypsies: Harmony and My Mind’s Eye: On Trend…12 pages…some I mounted to mat board with the Album Cover and Page diecut. I also used the Scalloped Envelope and Large Scalloped Square (both retired Sizzix) from Stamping’ Up. The Scallop Square was used as the back cover for the album.

I LOVE the dress form and how it turned out! I fussy cut that from the Harmony Collection and bunched up tulle which I tied off with thread and embellished with a tiny flower and a tiny heart shaped gem.

There are several pockets and tuck spots which I stamped tags with the Happy Ever After stamp set.

I used Small Antique Silver Rings to attach all of the pages together and finished off with ribbon and lace.
Here is a short video that shows all of the pages. 🙂
There you have it. I am really please with how it turned out.
If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Collect Moments not Things

Hi everyone! I am here to share a project I created  from a 5″x7″ Kraft card and envelope for a friend who loves to journal. I turned the card base into a journal and the envelope into a cute little pocket which can be used as is or punch holes into the side and add to an album.

First I cover the envelope with the following cardstocks: Santa’s Journey: Comfort and Joy, American Vintage: Go and See and American Vintage: American Stamps (backside is decorated in this cardstock). I ran the denim fabric through the diecut machine and adhered vintage buttons, sequins and dew drops to the scalloped edge along with lace and Red Burlap on the corner of the envelope.
I added strands of Red Burlap, blue thread, lace, tulle, paper flower, pearl spray and a large button with a seal punch from Red and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse cardstock with a sentiment from the American Vintage: Go and See Cardstock and framed that with a piece of Navy and Ivory Mini Reverse Cardstock that I cut into a banner.

The 5″x7″ card I rounded the corners and from the fold of the card I measured 1/4″ two time on each side of the fold and then scored to create a flexible spine. Next I inked the edges and cut and adhered the following cardstock to the front: Epicurean: Pomodoro, Little Red Pages on Kraft and Navy and Ivory Mini Reverse Cardstock. To create the post card I cut from the following cardstocks: American Vintage: Wish You Were HereAmerican Vintage: American StampsAmerican Vintage: Go and See Cardstock and Red and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse cardstock to pull it together.

I took two of the American Vintage 4″x6″ Printed File Folders and cut the tabs off (I punched and added my own tabs) then I cut ten sheets of grid paper for each folder and pamphlet stitched into each one with bakers twine.

Next I measured the folders and marked places for holes in the “folds” (top and bottom) of the spine of the card cover and then punched holes in the spine. Then I ran elastic through the holes and tied off on the inside. Then take the back cover of each folder and slid under the elastic. You can create more folders which can be added if you like.

Also you could decorate a larger envelope and add smaller cards with envelopes for a great gift too.
If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Give a Child Wings

Hi everyone! I am here to share a quick project I created for Eileen Hull’s Mixed Media May-hem Challenge for the month of May. I started with a 3″x3″ Burlap Canvas which I sprayed with a combination of the following Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Moss, Bahama Blue and Mint Julip and the outer edges I used a Turquoise paint and then let dry.

I cut a Doily and Leaves (Holiday Greenery diecutfrom the Gypsy Moments: Take Our Breath Away cardstock. Also I used up scraps of Gypsy Moments: Express Yourself cardstock  and from the same  Holiday Greenery diecut I cut flowers. I adhered those to the canvas along with other scraps of Maritime: Coquille(shell) and Sirene(mermaid) cardstock.

On one of the edges I used the Lace diecut to add some vintage charm.

The little child is from the Tinted Babies printable. I fussy cut her out and added wings and antennas for some quirky cuteness. I cut the sentiment from the Gypsy Moments: Novel Thought cardstock, adhered to the corner and then finished off with thread and sequins. Oh and I added a little bit of stickles to the wings.
If you have any questions on this project please let me know.

Also craft room update…I am still working on getting things in order along with now remodeling what will be the craft room bathroom. I am super excited on how everything is looking. 😀
Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is awesome and enjoy creating!

Journey Tag

Hi everyone! I am here to share a quick tag that could be used as a gift tag on a present for Father’s Day or it could be used in a journal or a beach layout. I had created this a while back and I am just now getting around to sharing.

I cut  1/4″ off of this tag to make it 3 1/8″x6″ in size and then covered with a sheet of the seahorses from the Maritime 6×6 Paper Pad which is the perfect size for this tag. I inked around the edges and added other papers from the same collection which I distressed and inked too. The “Old Salt” and “Journey” images are from the Maritime Mini Ephemera diecut pack. I fussy cut those from the same diecut and adhered to the tag along with a messy bound bunch of thread.

I fussy cut more images from the paper pad and also added some clear sequins and mini flat back pearls randomly around to give the look of bubbles .

I cut a 6″ piece of Chocolate Waxed Cotton Cord and tied to the top of the tag to finish it off. And there you have it a very simple tag that looks like a lot of time was spent on it but in reality maybe an hour at the most. 🙂
If you have any questions please let me know.
