Creating an Up-cycled Box Using The Poet’s Garden Diecuts

Hi everyone! I’m back with my first project of the month using The Poet’s Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn and Spellbinders. This collection contains Love-in-a-Mist Etched Dies, Clematis Poet Etched Dies, Wild Violet and Ladybugs Etched Dies and The Poet’s Garden Sentiments Press Plus Plate and Die Set. I used all the die sets except for the press plus plate die set. Anyways, let’s get started!

Mixed media craft project featuring vibrant paper flowers, including blue and purple blossoms, arranged on a wooden background with vintage elements.

I will need a present in the upcoming months so I dug into my stash of small boxes I keep on hand and found this small box. I covered the outside and the inside portion that slides out with a cardstock that looks like wood. I also added trim to both outside ends of the box.

A rustic wooden box with a decorative trim, featuring a drawer partially pulled out.

There are videos for each set of dies on how to put together. For the first set of diecuts I used is the Wild Violet and Ladybugs Etched Dies. You can find that video HERE.

A collection of die cut shapes including leaves and flowers in various colors, with teal, purple, and metallic copper elements displayed on a black background.

These videos explain how to put these florals together so much better than I could.

Paper flowers with purple petals and green stems accompanied by green leaves on a beige background.

The second set of diecuts are the Clematis Poet Etched Dies and you can find that how to video HERE. The third set of diecuts are the Love-in-a-Mist Etched Dies and you can find that video HERE.

Various paper flower parts including petals and leaves in pastel colors, arranged on a light background.

I thought I had taken a couple of step out photos of the Love-in-a-Mist flower but apparently not. So here is another photo of the Clematis.

A handcrafted paper flower featuring soft pastel colors, with intricate layered petals and a detailed center. The flower showcases shades of light blue, white, and hints of green.

I glued to the top of the box sleeve, cardstock that I had inked with brown chalk ink and lace.

A wooden box decorated with textured paper, lace, and vintage-style elements, featuring a light wood finish and a decorative trim on top.

I arranged and adhered all flowers to the top of the box sleeve.

Close-up of colorful paper flowers in shades of blue and green, adorned with leaves, against a textured background.

I made bows out of cording and places under the Clematis and Love-in-a-Mist to finish.

Decorative box topped with flowers and greenery, featuring a faceted crystal pendant and a chain inside.

Now this box is ready for gift giving and it can be used as a home decor piece too.

If you have any comments or questions about this project please leave them below.

Explore the Majestic Guitar Dies Collection for Crafts

Hi everyone! It’s a new month and I want to share a project I created using the Majestic Guitar Etched Dies and the Majestic Guitar Side Panels Etched Dies from the Bibi’s Musical Notes Collection by Bibi Cameron and Spellbinders. There is also Majestic Guitar Box Creator Bundle which contains both sets at a discounted price.

A decorated guitar box with floral patterns, intricate designs, and multiple strings, placed on a textured, white knitted background.

I have no step out photos of how I put this adorable guitar box together but I do plan on creating more of these. I’ll do a thorough how to at that time. Anyways, I wanted to at least share.

Close-up of a decorated guitar-shaped box featuring floral patterns and intricate die-cut designs.

I used an assortment of different types of cardstock. The floral paper I found at Hobby Lobby if you are interested.

A beautifully crafted guitar-shaped box decorated with floral patterns and polka dots, showcasing intricate die-cut details.

Before cutting out all the individual diecut pieces that went on the front of the guitar I applied Adhesive Roll to the back of the cardstock. This made applying all the pieces to the front of the guitar so much easier. Also I used a brown chalk ink to ink the edges of all the diecuts before putting together.

I love that you can add a small treat or gift card and give this as a gift. I can also see a Christmas tree full of these guitars. How would you use this set of dies? Let me know in the comments below.

Easy DIY Cards with Shadow Joy Etched Dies

Hi everyone! I want to share a couple of quick and easy cards I created. I used the Shadow Joy Etched Dies from the City Holiday Collection by Yana Smakula and Spellbinders.

Two handmade greeting cards featuring the word 'joy' in pink, embellished with gold stars and gems, displayed on a lace tablecloth.

For both cards, the base is a 4 1/4″x 5 1/2″ folded. The first card I cut a mat slightly smaller than the base of the card and added. I cut out the joy and the joy shadow dies in two different colors of red cardstock and adhered together.

A handcrafted card featuring the word 'joy' in vibrant pink letters, adorned with gold star embellishments, set against a patterned background and a green border.

I glued the joy dies to the card. I cut three star dies from Gold Cardstock. I adhered all three stars to the card to finish.

A handmade greeting card featuring the word 'joy' in layered pink cardstock with two small gold glitter stars on a decorative background.

The second card I cut two mats. One mat was slightly smaller than the other. I glued both on top of the other and glued to the base. I cut out the joy and five star dies. I glued all to the card.

A greeting card featuring the word 'joy' in bold red letters, adorned with yellow stars and gems on a patterned background of holly leaves.

I added six Gold Gems to the card to finish.

If you have any questions and comments about these cards please leave them below.

Creative Cards with North Pole Friends Simon Hurley and Spellbinders

Hi everyone! The month of July has flown by. I haven’t had a chance to share some of the projects I created for Spellbinders. I want to share a couple of completed of cards using Simon Hurley’s North Pole Friends Collection for Spellbinders.

A festive greeting card featuring two playful elves in colorful outfits, one holding a candy cane and the other a lollipop, set against a snowy green background with snowflakes and gift boxes.

The first card I created I used the Santa’s Elves Etched Dies to create this fun holiday scene.

A festive holiday card featuring two whimsical elves, one holding a lollipop and the other a candy cane, surrounded by colorful presents and a snowy landscape.

The base of the card is 5″x 7″. I used an assortment of plain and patterned cardstocks to put these elves together.

A handmade card featuring a cheerful Mrs. Claus character holding a tray of cookies, set against a soft green background with snowflake designs and decorative embellishments.

The second card, the base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I used The Clauses Etched Dies for Mrs. Claus and for the Santa card below.

A festive greeting card featuring a cheerful Santa Claus with a green bag, set against a snowy background with light embellishments.

And like the Elves card I used an assortment of cardstock. A side note, I use Adhesive Roll to back all pieces of cardstock. Since all diecut pieces are very small this makes it much easier to put the images together.

If you have any questions or comments about these cards please leave them below.

DIY Card Tutorial Using Labels and Icons Dies

Hi everyone! I’m excited to be sharing my first card as a design team member of Spellbinders! I used the Labels and Icons Etched Diecuts and Typewriter Adventure Sentiments Stamp Set to create this card. These dies are in collaboration with Simple Stories:Crafty Babe Collection. But I used what I had on hand in my stash of craft supplies. Anyways, let’s get started!

A handmade greeting card featuring a pink background with patterned cardstock, an orange heart adorned with sequins, and the phrase 'thinking of you' on a cream label, decorated with a small flower and twine.

First, I cut in half a piece of Antique Ivory Cardstock. I folded what was cut in half, 4 1/4″x 5 1/2″, to create the base for the card. Next I cut a piece of patterned cardstock slightly smaller than the card. I lightly inking the edges of the cardstock before adhering it to the base.

A softly colored cardstock featuring a lace pattern with pink and white tones.

I cut the heart with holes and the background heart and the flower from the Labels and Icons Etched Diecuts. I lightly inked the edges of the heart with holes. I placed a sequin over each hole and created a French knot in the center. This secures them in place.

A flat lay image featuring an assortment of orange and pastel sequins in containers, a pink die-cut heart with holes, and a needle with orange thread laying nearby. The background is light and neutral.

I glued the solid heart to the back of the heart with sequins. I cut three strips of plain and patterned cardstock, each slightly smaller than the other. I glued each on top of each other and adhered to the card base. I placed the “thinking of you” sentiment from the Typewriter Adventure Sentiments Stamp Set on the MISTI Stamping Tool. I inked with Black Ink and stamped onto a small piece of Antique Ivory Cardstock.

A handmade card featuring a large pink heart adorned with orange sequins, a flower embellishment, and the sentiment 'thinking of you' in black ink on a patterned background.

I glued the sentiment to the center of the card base. I placed Foam Pop Dots to the back of the sequin heart and placed next to the sentiment. I shaped the flower with a Stylus and adhered to the side of the heart. I placed a Flat Back Pearl in the center of the flower. I glued a bow made from thread underneath the flower to finish. If you have any questions or comments about this card please leave them below.
