Christmas Time is Near

Hi everyone! Are you ready for Christmas? Me? I am almost there…I still have presents to wrap and a couple of pies to make and I will finally be able to sit back and relax for a moment. Then it will be back to getting projects ready for CHA in January.
Well, I wanted to share a bag I altered. I created this for a swap I was in with my sweet friend Lisa. I first started with a 6.25″x9.25″ kraft paper bag. I used the following cardstock collections to decorate the front and back of the bag: Prima-Sweet Peppermint, Sizzix: Brenda Walton-Merry & Bright and Crate Paper-Bundled Up. I used a scalloped edge punch to create the pocket which I glued to the bag along with a doily and two strips of cardstock. I then cut the Reindeer from Gold Glitter cardstock and adhered to the corner of the pocket. I cut verbiage and numbers from the Merry & Bright collection. The number are from the Billboard Alphabet Diecut. Once everything was cut it was added to the front of the bag.

The back of the bag I adhered cardstock, pom poms and gold trim…the trim was a last year find at Target after Christmas for 90% off! I love a great bargain!
Next I gathered goodies to fill the bag. The little notebooks I found at Target in the Dollar Spot but they where originally 6″x6″. I cut those down so they will fit into a Traveler’s Notebook. Also I cut a tag from a Sizzix diecut packaging and wrapped washi tape samples onto it.

I filled up the bag with Tags I cut from the Merry & Bright Collection. The wreath paper clip I will share how to make those in a later post 😉
I hope you like this little bag I altered and if you have any questions please let me know.

I would like to submit this project for the following challenge:

Pretty in Pink Altered Cigar Box

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Ours was great even if we had massive amounts of rain it was still nice to be able to spend it with family. 🙂
After taking a tiny break from social media I am back to share a project I created for a swap I was in with my sweet friend Lisa on Swap-bot.

For this swap we agreed to alter a small cigar box and fill it with planner goodies.

Since one of Lisa’s favorite colors is pink I went with a dusty colored cardstock from My Mind’s Eye for the outside of the box. The image I found on Tammy Tutterow’s site. I sized it down, printed and fussy cut out. I used a combination of buttons, dew drops, store bought and handmade flowers to decorate the lid.

The inside of the box I used the rest of the My Mind”s Eye cardstock and the vintage print cardstock is from a discontinued line from Canvas Corp. Also I forgot to mention that I painted the edges of the box with a cream colored paint (no need to paint the whole box since you won’t be seeing that 🙂 ) and used Antique Mod Podge to adhere all cardstock to the box. Once dry I applied a coat over the whole box to seal it.

The fun part was adding all the goodies. I added journaling cards, sticky notes, shaped paper clips, washi tape and a 4″ book ring so she can add her favorite washi tapes to so she can keep those close at hand. 🙂

There you have it my first project of the year! 🙂 If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Thursday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Christmas Tree and Snowflake Matchboxes

Hi everyone! It has been awhile since my last post but I have had my sinuses go crazy the last few weeks. When I take meds it pretty much leaves me with a medicine head and all I want to do it lay around and sleep…not good at all. 😦 I did have a nice thanksgiving and was able to get out and shop on Black Friday with a friend. I was out at 7ish in the morning and I must say there was hardly anyone out. So there was no dealing with crazy people and I got what I needed and was home by 11:30am. My type of shopping! 😀
Well, I want to share two little matchboxes I created for a swap I was in over on Swap-bot. We had to decorate in a Christmas/Holiday theme and fill with Christmas goodies.

I emptied two 32 count matchboxes and covered with cardstock. This one I had received the “tree” button in a previous swap. I clipped the loop off of the back of the button and after added Ric Rac, button, sequin and dew drop to the sleeve of the matchbox I adhered the tree to the top and then filled the drawer with goodies. Do you see the little gingerbread man ornament I included? 🙂

The next matchbox I when with a wintery theme. The beaded snowflake is also from another pervious swap along with the glittery snowflake which I glued together. I added a little pearl dew drop to the top to finish off the snowflake. I printed the Merry Christmas sentiment from the computer, cut out and made a banner out of it. I glued a sequin and silver dew drop on top of the banner after adhering trim to the edges of the sleeve of the matchbox.

I filled this one with mini jiggle bells, sequin trees, snowflake ornament, brads, dew drops, etc. You would be surprised at how much you can stuff in one of those little matchboxes.

I love altering these! All I do is gather up my scraps…which is a great way to use them up…and decorate. If you have any questions about these projects please let me know.

A Merry Pink Christmas!

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a project I created for a swap I was in for my dear friend Lisa aka Lisa Laughs since she loves pink I found this snowman digital image to use as the bases for the matchbox. We had to alter a 300 count matchbox in a vintage Christmas theme and include three handmade items (which I have blogged about in pervious posts) and then fill up the rest of the box with goodies.

I am submitting this matchbox for the following challenges:

Eileen Hull’s Art With Heart Holiday Traditions Challenge
Paper Wing’s Productions December Challenge

If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Snowman Fun!

Hi there! I’m here to share another 32 count matchbox I altered for a swap I am in. I love the soft vintage feel of this Bundled Up paper collection from Crate Paper!

I wrapped and tied some red twine around the box and added snowflake sequin and button with another clear sequin and dew drop to finish off this adorable matchbox. Now all I have to do is fill it with tiny goodies and mail. Hope my swap partner likes it. 🙂
If you have any questions please let me know.

For my project I altered a 300 count matchbox. I covered it with Cindy Lou Swirl Glitter Cardstock.

I printed the “Santa” image from a digital sheet I purchased from Pink Paislee. I inked the edges of the image and adhered it to a piece of red cardstock.

I added bits of tulle, ribbon, holly and twine decoration to the top of the box. I finished off with some buttons and Christmas Dew Drops.

The “drawer” I added a pull to make it easier to open.

I filled the inside with crafty bits of fun for my friend to use in some of her many craft projects.

Postage Stamp Snowflake Rolodex Card

Hi everyone! Can you believe this is the first day of December and Christmas is only 24 days away??? YIKES!!! I did get out for about two and a half hours on Friday and did a little  Christmas shopping. There was just no way I could force myself to go out on Thursday and shop. For one thing it is just not right that people has to work on a holiday when they should be home eating and spending time with their family. I’m afraid next year retail stores will be open all day on Thanksgiving. Sigh… 😦
I’m here to share a couple of rolodex cards I created for a swap I was in over at Swap-bot.  One is for my swap partner and the other is for me. 🙂 The theme was holiday with a postage stamp used in some way on the rolodex.
I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions let me know, hope your Sunday is wonderful and enjoy creating!!!

ABES: Halloween Art journal Pages

Hi everyone! I’m just getting around to sharing some of my Halloween pages from my art journal. I did receive most of the bits and pieces that I used from a swap I was in over at Swap-bot in the ABES group. I did use a few things I had in my own stash to finish off the pages.

I will try and share more pages once I photograph them. 😉 Thanks for stopping by, hope your Thursday is awesome and enjoy creating!!!

Singapore Love Art Journal Style

Hi everyone! I’m sharing my first double page spread from my diary I altered. I’m in a group over on Swap-bot were instead of sending your journal off for someone to alter they send you an envelope of, generally a theme, of scrapbook paper, images and bits and pieces of goodies. I received an envelope from Mag who lives in Singapore. How she had the envelope decorated was so much fun. I just couldn’t throw it away so I used the stamps, custom form, deco tape and address label and created my page. I did use a few of the items she included and I used some of my own dot stickers and this is what I came up with.

I‘m still working on the front cover of my journal. I feel it lacks something but once I do finish it I will share. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is awesome and enjoy creating!!!
