Creative Tag Making with Eileen Hull Silverware 3D Embossing Folder

Hi everyone! I’m back with another tag. I had actually created this last week but I had family obligations that kept me away from blogging. So I’m sharing a week late and hopefully next week I can double up and do two posts instead of one.

Anyways, I used the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits, Silverware 3D Embossing Folder and the Faux Postage Thinlits, all by Eileen Hull, to create this tag. So let’s get started!

First, I cut two of the largest tags from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits since I will have to glue these back to back. I placed the aqua color tag into the Silverware 3D Embossing Folder, place between one of the plates and platform and run through the Diecut Machine.

I lightly inked the raised edges with a green chalk ink. Next I applied Rose Gold Luster Wax over random areas of the tag. I also adhered both tags back to back before jumping into decorating the embossed side.

Second, I went through my pile of scraps and came across two partials of the Faux Postage Thinlits, a circle punch, “delicious” sentiment and a few long skinny scraps of cardstock. I adhered all those to the base of the tag.

Third, I stamped an image of silverware onto a piece of cardstock but I only fussy cut the spoon out and lightly inked with a brown chalk ink. The stamp set I used is from Tim Holtz: Nature Cling Stamps which is retired.

I fussy cut an image of a woman with a rabbit head from a itKuPiLLimaginarium Printable. I also used a box cutter and cut around the hand so I could place the spoon in the hand before gluing to the tag to finish this side.

Fourth, for the other side of the tag I used the negative of a circle that I had punched out, seven image and several scraps of patterned cardstock and glued to the tag.

Fifth, I picked a woman image from the Mini Paper Dolls and adhered to the tag. I dug into my stash flowers and glued to the skirt of the woman. I also added a button and thread to the center of the flower to finish.

Thinking of You Peacock Card

Hi everyone and Happy 1st of May! As the weather starts warming up and my time indoors is less, you know gardening and time in the pool, I wanted to share a quick and easy card I created. I used Eileen Hull‘s Faux Postage Thinlits and the Floral Silhouettes Thinlits (only at Scrapbook.com) to create this card in under 15 minutes. So let’s get started!

First, I folded a piece of Blue Cardstock in half and placed the “fold line” slightly inside of the of the rectangle thinlit from the Faux Postage Thinlits before running through the Diecut Machine. Side note, I did use wash tape to hold the thinlit in place while running through the diecut machine. This keeps the thinlit from shifting.

Second, I selected the peacock cardstock from the Flourish 6″x6″ Paper Pad (retired). I had already cut off a portion of the cardstock to create a journaling spot and the cardstock didn’t completely cover all of the Faux Postage Thinlit so I centered the image onto the thinlit and ran through the diecut machine.

Third, I cut a mat from White Cardstock and adhered to the back of the peacock image.

Fourth, I glued the peacock image to the card base.

Fifth, I used a scrap of Watercolor Paper, placed onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, placed the journaling box stamp from Simple Sayings Stamps Set, inked with Black Ink and stamped onto the watercolor paper.

I removed the journaling box and placed the “Thinking of You” stamp sentiment onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with Black Ink and stamped inside of the journaling box image.

Sixth, I fussy cut the image with Scissors and adhered to the bottom corner of the card. I cut three flowers and two leaf sprigs from the Floral Silhouettes Thinlits (only at Scrapbook.com), shaped the flowers with a Stylus and glued two together and adhered one leaf sprig to the back before placing it to the lower corner of the sentiment. The other flower I cut one of the leaves off from the leaf sprig and glued to the back of the flower before adding to upper corner of the sentiment. I glued two gems to the center of each flower to finish.

The Faux Postage Thinlits can take any large graphic image on a piece of cardstock, you know the ones that you really aren’t sure what to do with it, and and turn it into a simple card. Or you can remove a few of the “postage stamps” and replace them for a completely different look. So many possibilities!

You and Me Tag

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with a quick little tag I created using an assortment of scraps and tags from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits by Eileen Hull. So let’s get started!

First, I cut two of the largest tags, one medium tag and a small tag using the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits. I glued the two large tags back to back because there wasn’t a design/patterned on the back side of the patterned green tag. Plus I generally decorate the other side of the tag.

Second, I adhered one of the medium tags slightly off one side of the large tag and the other medium tag I added Foam Pop Dots to the back before placing onto the tag. I also lightly inked all the tags with a chalk ink in either tan or brown.

Third, I selected an image of a couple from the Mini Paper Dolls Pack and glued onto the raised tag. I also added the You and Me chipboard piece behind the image and adhered bits of patterned cardstock onto and behind the raised tag.

Fourth, I cut two medium, one small flower and one leaf sprig from the Everyday Tags and Labels Thinlits (only at Scrapbook.com and on clearance), shaped with a Stylus and adhered all three flowers on top of each other along with the leaf sprig which I added to the back of the flower. I made a bow from thread which I placed under the flower and added an Enamel Dot to the center of the flower to finish the front of the tag.

Fifth, I kept the back side of the tag fairly simple. I placed the medium size tag from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits over the tag which is on the front to cover the exposed back of the tag. I glued a small banner at the top of the tag and the “love” chipboard sentiment over that.

Sixth, the flowers, I think, are strawberry blossoms that I had received in a swap. So no idea the name of the printables or where they came from…sorry. I fussy cut the flowers and adhered them to the tag along with the “life is grand” sentiment. I finished by adding Liquid Gloss on random areas of the blossoms and leaves and two gold dots that was leftover from a package of thickers. I would like to mention I added ring protecter to each hole on each tag.

There you have it! Tags are a great way to challenge yourself in using what’s on your desk and supplies you haven’t touched in forever. Besides the obvious reason of just making to be making these can be made to add to presents or mini albums. Can you think of other ways to use these besides what I suggested? Leave a comment below.

How to Alter a Jumbo Wintery Themed Paper Clip

Hi everyone! Have you ever wondered what to do with those jumbo paper clips that you see in the office and craft sections in store? I will show you how I altered this paper clip, using a good portion of leftovers from other projects that was on my desk, into a book mark or as a closure to a bag/gift. Let’s get started!

First, I cut to size a scrap piece of bluish cardstock from the Making Essentials Cardstock Pack to fit the paper clip. I placed one end of the cardstock into the Crochet Mandala 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Diecut Machine.

I lightly inked over the raised embossed areas, folded the non embossed area of the cardstock and slid the cardstock through the paper clip.

I added adhesive to the lower half of the non embossed flap and glued to the back of the embossed cardstock. Side note…you want the “banner” to still move freely on the paper clip so don’t glue directly to the paper clip.

I cut two small strips of glittered tulle, gathered together and staples in the middle. Side note…glue would have been a lot messier. Also I don’t think I will ever buy glitter tulle again. I left a glitter trail everywhere I moved. YIKES!

I had a leftover strip of cardstock that I embossed with a Polka Dot Embossing Folder (retired), adhered the tulle to the backside of that and then glued to the banner.

I had two leftover banners that I had cut from the Geometric Box Diecut so I decided to cut the top off of each and adhered both to the top of the banner. Another side note (apparently I’m full of them today) I had used the those shapes to created a cool little treat box for Eileen Hull’s Comfort and Joy 2022 Kickoff Event (only $20). It’s over 8 hours of different designers sharing projects to make. If you are interested you can find the link HERE to purchase. Also I cut two Snowflakes from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and glued those on top of each other before adding to the banner.

I cut two snowflakes from the 3D Impresslits Snowflake Diecut (retired). The smaller snowflake I lightly inked over the raised edges of the die, added a Foam Pop Dot to the back before placing on top of the larger snowflake. I also added a sequin and gems to the center of the snowflake, glued a bow to the side and added lace to geometric shaped banner.

The larger snowflake I did the same steps as with the smaller snowflake but glued directly to the banner. While I was cleaning up my craft room I came across this half sheet of snowmen that I had stamped out multiple times. I decided to fussy cut all out and use as needed. I have no idea who made the stamp and if I find out I will update my supply list. I added a foam pop dots to the back of the snowman before placing onto the lower half of the banner. I also glued a cord bow underneath the snowman to finish.

I think it turned out pretty good considering I was, for the most part, using what I had laying on my desk. I tried it out on a book and I think it look great. I also think you could use this to keep a Christmas bag closed to give as a gift.

Up Close Snowman Mini Slimline Card

Hi everyone! I’m back with a quick mini slimline card I created using my Sparkles Snowman Happy Holidays Stamp Set.

I folded a 6″x6″ piece of Red Cardstock in half to create the base for the card and another piece of patterned cardstock as a mat and adhered to the base of the card. I had already stamped the snowman face and sentiment onto a piece of White Cardstock but since the face image didn’t stamp clean (it had smudges of ink) I cut the face in close and watercolored and used Colored Pencils. I matted both the face and the sentiment with a patterned cardstock and adhered to the base of the card.
