Dragons Lair Den: Jolly Ole St Nick Journal

Hi everyone! It’s me and I’m here to share my last post with Dragons Lair Den. I am thankful for the time I have been on the design team and being able to share a little bit of my take on DLD printables.
I created this mini Santa journal from a file folder which I cutdown and the finished size is a 3 1/2″x5″ and that measures from the “creases” or three folds in the file folder.

I inked the spine with a green ink, let dry and then measured and marked four small holes at 1″ intervals down the spine. I used a very thick needle to punch each hole.
I printed off the sage green sheet from the Victorian Christmas Collection-Card Papers and cut two 3 1/2″x5″ pieces to fit the front and the back of the journal. I used the Christmas Merriment embossing folder and embossed both pieces before adhering to the journal. Next I printed out the Vintage Santa Card Kit and cut one of the Santa’s out, inked the edges and then used pop dots to raise the image. I finished off the front with baker’s twine, button, sequins, dew drops, tulle and a metal star. I also applied Stickles to the Santa’s beard and hair.

I cut twenty sheets of notebook paper to fit the inside of the journal. Once folded in half I sewed the pages and tied off on the outside of the spine. I added fiber and ribbon also to make it more festive.

From the same Victorian Christmas Collection-Card Papers I printed off a burgundy sheet and cut it down to make an inside pocket. I added from the Vintage Santa Card Kit a label and flower to finish it off.

There you have it a simple little journal that can be used to jot down notes, keep up with receipts or whatever else you can think of. 🙂 Please be sure to check out the Dragons Lair Den for these printables and more. If you have any questions please let me know.

Santa’s List File Folder Album

Hi there! I’m here to share a project that I have been working on and off for the last several week in-between design team projects, magazine calls and everyday cleaning and such. I created this 8″x8″ album from four file folders using the Holiday Style collection from October Afternoon. This collection I bought last year from Peachy Cheap but never got around to using it. I thought it was perfect for an album or my case a December Daily…fingers are crossed on that because last year I started one and never finished it. lol 🙂 My goal is to at least take one photo a day for the month of December and do a blog post about it…again fingers are crossed. 🙂

There is 31 spots for journaling and photos in this album.

The clasp is from Hobby Lobby which I just love!

I created a pocket on the front of the album to hold cards or odd bits.

I am submitting this project for the Eileen Hull’s Art with Heart Favorite Recipe Challenge and Paper Wings Productions Anything Goes Challenge.

If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Sunday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

S is for Santa

Hi everyone! I’m here to share my altered matchbox using the Robin’s Nest  Christmas  Collection for the Robin’s Nest “Christmas Blog Hop” linky party which is going on today.

Please be sure to hop on over to the Chattering Robin’s Blog and checkout everyone else’s creations using Robin’s Nest products and be sure to become a follower of each blog  and leave a comment too for a chance to win a bottle of the  Christmas Dew Drops because each blog will pick a winner. 🙂

For my project I altered a 300 count matchbox. I covered it with Cindy Lou Swirl Glitter Cardstock.

I printed the “Santa” image from a digital sheet I purchased from Pink Paislee. I inked the edges of the image and adhered it to a piece of red cardstock.

I added bits of tulle, ribbon, holly and twine decoration to the top of the box. I finished off with some buttons and Christmas Dew Drops.

The “drawer” I added a pull to make it easier to open.

I filled the inside with crafty bits of fun for my friend to use in some of her many craft projects.
If you have any questions about this project please let me know.
Also I am entering this in the Ellen Hull’s Art with Heart Challenge.

Santa’s Workshop

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a project I created for a swap I am in over on Swap-bot. For this swap we had to alter a 32 count matchbox with a Christmas theme and fill it with goodies.

I used the Cindy Lou Swirl Glitter Cardstock to cover inside and out the surfaces of the matchbox.

I also used one of the Santa tickets from the  Merry Christmas Digital Collage Ticket Sheet from the Cameo Shoppe. All digital images are 75% off through the 28th of November. Now would be a great time to stock up on images for upcoming projects.

This is all of the little bits and pieces of goodies I stuffed into this little matchbox.

It’s hard to believe I was able to stuff all of that into this little bitty matchbox but I did…here’s the proof 🙂 I hope my swap partner likes with I put together for her. 🙂
If you have any questions please let me know.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

I wanted to share a card that I created for Crafty Card Gallery Design Team call that I’m trying out for. I absolutely love the soft colors of the Jack and Jill “Be Happy” Gleeful paper I used from the My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary collection.
For this card I cut a 6×6 square from the My Mind’s Eye paper and then folded it in half. You now should have a 3×6 folded card. I cut various sizes of cardstock, then ink the edges with Versa Magic Dew Drop Aquatic Splash. Adhered them to the center of the card. Next I used Delta Rubber Stampede Santa stamp on a #6 tag which I did cut down a little…no exact measurements because I eyed-balled it***giggles*** I then inked all the edges of the tag and attached some lace at top. I used a soft pink chalk pastel to give Santa a little rosy color in his cheeks. I cut a banner from cardstock and cut the Merry Christmas from Me and My Big Ideas Fantastic Christmas 2 collection…another super fun paper to play with. When I glued down the tag I left a 1/8 of an inch of the tag hang off of the card for a different look.

I cut bits of velvet ric rac and lace glued to the card and last but not least I added baker’s twine to the buttons and glued them down.

Ta-daaah!!! The card is finished. I love making this size card because I can get four cards out of a sheet of 12×12 scrapbook paper. I hope you will give this size card a try and let me know what you think 🙂
Thanks for looking and enjoy creating!!!
