Butterfly Angel Journal Part One

Hi everyone! I am here today to share my project this month using Eileen Hull’s ColorBox Blends with the Passport Diecut. The Inspiration Team has shown several different ways to use the ColorBox Blends and you can find those post HERE, HERE and HERE.


For my project I cut the Passport Diecut from Mat Board. I have a large piece of glass that I use as a pallet (very easy to clean afterwards) and I applied Tutu and Wildberry Blends and watered both colors down. Next I taped a doily stencil to the front cover of my book and applied both colors. Once it was dry I removed the stencil and then applied Sunshine Blends to my pallet, watered down and applied a wash to the cover.


The back cover I embossed with the Lace Medallions Embossing Folder. I watered down Wildberry and Sunshine blends and painted the cover.


While letting the covers dry I embossed the spine with Waffle Embossing Folder and inked over it with the Leaf Blends.


Before adhering the covers and spine together I added Stickles over the doily image on the front cover and once dry I splattered with Coconut and Nutmeg Blends. Adhered all pieces together and glued Ric Rac to dress up the edge of the spine.


I had made several frozen Charlotte dolls with Makers Mix but hadn’t found the right project to use them in so I thought this project would be the right time to add one to the cover of my journal. I watered down the Coconut Blends and painted the first coat over the whole doll.


Once the first coat was dry I watered down Nutmeg Blends and applied randomly to the doll and once that was dry I sealed it with Fast Finish Decoupage.


I added fussy cut roses printables, twine and metallic thread to the front cover. Next I adhered butterfly wings to the back of the doll along with a bookplate to finish off the cover.


I tied three papers per signature to the inside of the journal and finished off the spine with a variety of seam binding, ribbon, lace, etc. Later this week I will be sharing the inside of my journal. So be sure to keep an eye out for that blog post. 😊

Butterfly House and a Reindeer Card

Hi everyone! I wanted to hop on the blog and share a couple of projects I created over three years ago for a Stamper’s Sampler magazine call. I mailed these off May of 2013 with the hopes of maybe they would be selected for the magazine. I figured after this amount of time it wasn’t selected. 
The first project was for the template challenge in the magazine which was butterflies. I started with Eileen Hull’s House Gift Card Holder and cut out a house diecut and embossed with one of Tim Holtz’s embossing folders (if I find the name of the folder I will update my blog…sorry three years has gone by you know 🙁 ). The butterfly template I printed off in several different sizes on copy paper, cut out, traced on cardstock, cut those out, stamped and adhered to the front of the house. I did add a pull out with the word “FLY” to the tab.

The second project is a 3″x6″ Christmas card I created using Robin’s Nest cardstock and Dew Drops. I so love the reindeer stamp I used!

Maybe there is still I chance it will be selected for a future Stamper’s Sampler magazine? Who know? 🙂 But I wanted to share these with you. If you do have any questions about either one of these projects please let me know.

Tsunami Rose Designs: Firmin Riviere Junk Journal

Hi everyone! I am here to share my very first project as a design team member with Tsunami Rose Designs!!!


I used a variety of printables from Tsunami Rose’s etsy shop for this journal. Besides the printables being gorgeous they are ALL 50% off until September 1st…meaning everything in the shop is $2.50 including journaling kits!!! 🙂


For the base of my junk journal I started with a file folder.  I cut the folder down with the front and back being 5 3/4″x8 5/8″ with a 1 1/2″ and 2″ fold over for tuck spots inside and the spine being 1 1/2″ wide.


I adhered leftover cardstock/scrapbook paper to the covers both inside and out along with printables from Collage Cards Set 2 and Ephemera Set 3. I covered the spine with lace. I used a combination of Zip Dry and 3 in 1 adhesives since everything won’t come apart and the 3 in 1 “grabs” and dries quickly. Both adhesives are made by Beacon Adhesives.

This is a view of the cover before folded.


And the inside before the flaps are folded down and adhered to create pockets.


I coffee dyed regular copy paper…my first time. It’s a lot of work but looks great. 🙂


The journal has three signatures with eight papers per signature.


I used the Ephemera Set 3 for these pages. The pull out is actually a small booklet. I folded the printable in half and added coffee dyed notebook paper along with scraps of cardstock, rub ons and some of the printables I fussy cut and added to the pages too. 


I used the Vintage Shipping Tag Collection on these pages along with some other free printables that can be found on the Tsunami Rose Designs blog.


I created pockets out of some of the printables and I added some of the Library Cards 2 Set 3 through out the journal. Also I used a little bag from an order I had received and a coin roll as a page tab.


More free printables from the blog. The one with the kitten I fussy cut and adhered the corners to the tag to create a pocket and then added more printables as tags.


I cut the bottoms off of two of the tags from the Vintage Shipping Tag Collection, the tiny row of roses and fussy cut those out and added to both sides of the decorative gift bag. Then I punched holes in the tags and added fiber to the tops of them.


Even though I used a variety of printables from Tsunami Rose’s etsy shop instead of a kit I think the journal has turned out lovely.

Create to Remember Journal

Hi everyone! I am here to share a quick little journal I created for Eileen Hull’s Inspiration Team. I used the Passport Book Diecut and cut the spine and covers from Mat Board. Then from patterned cardstock I cut four covers for the insides and outsides of the journal, embossed and painted the spine and then adhered everything together.

Also the team is collaborating with Crescent Products this month and I used Rendr Paper for the inside pages on my little journal. 

This paper you can paint on both sides and there is no bleed thru on either side of the paper.

Each of the three signatures has five papers per signature. I used twine to sew in the pages.

The spine I tied off  ribbon, trim and fiber to each of the twine that is holding the pages in the journal.

Now if I want to draw or play with my watercolors I can. The journal doesn’t take up a lot of room and will be easy to carry.

Lucky Tag

Hi everyone and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! I want to share a quick tag I created. I started with the Tag and Bookplates die and cut a tag from a piece of Good Luck on Ivory cardstock.

The heart diecut is a retired diecut from Stampin’ Up! and I use a scrap of cardstock for the heart. I inked around the edges of the tag and the heart in green ink. I adhered the heart and a strip of green foil wrapping paper to the tag.

I printed from the computer the lucky sentiment, cut it into the shape of a banner and glued it along with a shamrock I had received in a swap and some gold metallic thread to the corner of the tag. I finished off with an assortment of ribbon, Ric Rac, seam binding and bakers twine. There you have it!  Easy Peasy tag! If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Robin’s Nest: Altered Snowflake Gift Card Box

Hi everyone! I am here to share another quick Christmas project for the Robin’s Nest. I give a lot of gift cards as presents and it seems like I am either running out to buy a card holder boxes or my mom is always needing one. I try and stock up after Christmas when everything is half off but sometimes I can’t find those in the already picked over selection of Christmas items. I figured since I have this Bath and Body gift card box  why not alter it into something Christmasy/Winter that can be used for the season?

Friendship Tag and a Winner!

Hi there! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was great since I celebrated my birthday. It was a day spent with my husband which we went out to eat and a little shopping at Michael’s. I was looking for some type of storage containers for my craft room. I bought some snap together kraft paper covered boxes to store my massive amount of cardstock in. Well, after putting both boxes together I am not so sure about them. :-/ A couple of snaps would not snap together for anything…I guess that was why they were on clearance. Oh well, I will make them do since I demolished the packaging. 
Also I want to share the winner from my blog of this past Saturday’s post for the Crafty Card Gallery Blog Hop.

Also I would like to share a tag I created. I had added cardstock to the base but laid it aside and never got back to it. I found it under a pile of cardstock and decided to finish it.

I used some leftover scraps of cardstock, mini pom pom trim, flatback pearls,dew drop and a sequin to the tag and I topped off the tag with a sentiment that I had received in a swap. Lastly I added seam binding and ribbon to the top of the tag.

Wedding Bliss

Hi everyone! I am here to share a mini album I created for a friend to give as a wedding gift. The colors of the wedding are a mix of mint green, pink, gold, cream and it also had to have a vintage feel to it.
The wooden frame I have had it for several years and finally found a use for it. I painted it with Tattered Angels Decor and DIY Ivory. This I used as the cover for the album. I used several different embellishments I had on hand. I so loved how the cover looks. 

I cut from both of the following collections:  7 Gypsies: Harmony and My Mind’s Eye: On Trend…12 pages…some I mounted to mat board with the Album Cover and Page diecut. I also used the Scalloped Envelope and Large Scalloped Square (both retired Sizzix) from Stamping’ Up. The Scallop Square was used as the back cover for the album.

I LOVE the dress form and how it turned out! I fussy cut that from the Harmony Collection and bunched up tulle which I tied off with thread and embellished with a tiny flower and a tiny heart shaped gem.

There are several pockets and tuck spots which I stamped tags with the Happy Ever After stamp set.

I used Small Antique Silver Rings to attach all of the pages together and finished off with ribbon and lace.
