ClearSnap: BBQ Recipe Booklet

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick and easy mini recipe booklet I created using the Needle Book DiecutColorBox: Paint Box Chalk Ink Arctic Deep and ColorBox: Art Screens Stars.
I started by applying one 6″x6″ Adhesive Sheet to a piece of chip board. I cut a piece of Navy and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock to cover the chip board. I peeled the backing of adhesive sheet off and apply Navy and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock. I placed the “naked” side of the chipboard face down onto the Needle Book Diecut and run through the diecut machine.

I placed the Art Screens Stars stencil on top of the diecut and loaded an Art Dauber with Paint Box Chalk Ink Arctic Deep and rub over the stencil until I had achieved the desired effect. I cut five Journal Lines on Ivory Cardstock slightly smaller than the book and fold in half and punched two small holes into the spine of the book. I placed the folded pages inside the book and where the holes are in the spine marked off one of the pages and then punch holes into all pages. I threaded the needle and sewed the pages into the book and tie off.
I inked the BBQ Grill Rubber Stamp with Wicked Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, fussy cut the grill image out, adhered to the cover of the recipe book and add three glossy dots to the legs of the grill.

I cut the word “recipes” from the Farmhouse Market on Ivory Cardstock and glue to the cover. I also cut a piece of elastic cording and tie to the belly band. Once desired tightness of the band is achieved place around the recipe book.

Now all I have to do is add all my old recipes that I have laying around into my little recipe booklet. No more searching because everything will be in one place! 😀 As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Also I would like to submit this project for the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday: Challenge Weeks #338-#339
Crafter’s Castle Challenge: #6

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Friday is awesome and enjoy creating!

My Little Book of Ice Cold Drinks

Hi everyone! I am here to share a drink recipe book I created using an assortment of  Canvas Corp products along with the Mixology collection and Tattered Angels mist.

First I started with an empty Oreo Box which I will use as the cover for my recipe album.

I carefully opened the box up, measure and cut to 6 3/4″x11 3/4″. The front and back cover should measure 6 3/4″x5 1/8″ and the spine should measures 6 3/4’x1 5/8″.

Next I cut two pieces Turquoise and White Damask Reverse cardstock about a 1/2″ larger on three of the sides. Center and adhere each piece on either side of the spine.

Cut a small notice out of each corner of the overlapping cardstock, fold and glue to the inside.

Next measure and cut a 8″x3 1/4″ piece of Green Burlap, center and adhere to the spine. The extra burlap glue to the inside of spine.

I added ric rac to the exposes edges of the burlap, cut the ice cold drink sentiment from the Happy Hour Sayings on White cardstock and glued to the cover. “My little book of” sentiment is a combination of stickers and the computer. The glass of water with lemon is fussy cut from the Lemonade and Sweet Ice Tea Sayings on white Cardstock and a touch of both Marigold and Aquamarine watered down and lightly painted on the image. On the inside covers I adhered two 10″ pieces of seam binding and then I cut to fit on the inside two pieces of Red and White Mini Dot Reverse cardstock. I finished off the cover  with two buttons and a red gem.

For the inside pages I used a combination of different cardstocks and Paper Bags to create three signatures with six papers per signature.

I cut a piece of cardstock to fit the inside of the spine. I measured every 1/2″ across and punched 3 small holes a 1 1/2″ a part at each 1/2″ section for a total of nine holes. Then I sewed each signature into place.

Next I adhered the sewn signatures to the inside spine. Now for the fun part decorating and adding recipes! 🙂

I used Journal Lines on White Cardstock to write most of the recipes on.

The pull out is a Mixology Recipe Card and I used a variety of  Mixology products and other Canvas Corp cardstock through out the album.

I thought the Farmhouse Market on Ivory cardstock was a perfect addition. I fussy cut the fruit out and painted with the following glimmer mists: Rum Punch, Moss, Crushed ShellsMarigold and Peach Delight (discontinued).

Also with the leftover scraps of cardstock I added a decorative punched edge and adhered to the paperbag to make a tuck spot to add more recipes.

I still have blank pages to add more recipes but wanted to share what I have finished. If you have any questions about the recipe album please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Sugar and Spice

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a mini recipe album I created for Canvas Corp’s Save a Recipe Challenge. I started with two of the Black and Ivory File Folders as the cover of for my recipe album.
First I cut the tab off of the striped folder.

Score at the fold 1/4″ three times on the back side of the striped folder.

The diamond pattern folder cut one inch off the tab end and scored 1/4″ four times on the front side of the folder. Measure and mark 1 1/2″ three times down spine of folder and punch for a total of six tiny holes.

Run three Small Binding Rings through the holes.

Adhere the diamond folder on top of the striped folder.

Now for the fun part I decorated the cover with a doily, twine, flowers, a mini Recipe Card and black tulle along with a flour sack, baking powder and barely pears that I fussy cut from the General Store on Ivory Cardstock

I also used the following Tattered Angels Glimmer and Chalkboard Mists ( Moss, Mint Julip, Ruby Red Slipper, Monolith) to add a little to color to the images I fussy cut. The flour bag I also tied red burlap thread to the ends of the bag for a fun look. I added the fork and spoon from the Cutlery Set to finish off the cover.

I cut a sheet of the Bake and Can Recipe Cards a part, punched holes and added to the album and the inside cover is decorated with the Farmhouse Kitchen Stripe Cardstock.

Also I forgot to mention on the front cover I cut and adhered a 1 1/2″ x5″ piece of Black and Kraft Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock on top of the doily before I added all the other embellishments. I punched a hole on the overlapping tab and also punched a hole in the crease and threaded twine though both holes and tied off to create a closure.
If you have any questions about this recipe album please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Let Them Eat Cupcakes

Hi everyone! I’m back with a project I created with some awesome Glitter Swirl cardstock that is 20% off this month over at the Robin’s Nest. The cardstock is elegant but I wanted to convey something fun and whimsical. Do you remember last month I had the leftover sleeve off of the 250/300 matchbox from my Rolodex holder I  had created?
Well I created  something elegant, fun and whimsical with that little sleeve. I combined my love of cupcakes and Marie Antoinette and came up with a mini recipe album. 🙂

First you will need to find the center of the 1 1/2″x5″ side of the sleeve…I just took it a part on the side that was glued together. Once apart I made my cut with my paper cutter.

Next cut one 1 1/2″x5″  and two 3 1/8″x5″ pieces of chipboard. These are for the ring binder and for the front back of the mini recipe book…this makes it more sturdy.

Paint the spine with Ceramcoat Hydrangea Pink. It gives your project a more finished look.

Cover the 1 1/2″x5″ piece of chipboard with White Glitter Swirl on White cardstock.

Take the ring binder and lay on top of the 1 1/2″x5″ piece of covered chipboard. Line up and lightly make a mark as to where the holes need to be punched and then attach the ring binder with the brads that are included in the pack.

Adhere the 3 1/8″x5″ chipboard to the front and back sides of the matchbox sleeve.

Cut two 4″x6″ pieces of Pink Glitter Swirl on Pink Cardstock and adhere to front and back of sleeve. Next the edges of the cardstock over and glue.

Measure and cut two White Glitter Swirl on White to fit the inside of the mini. First glue the seam binding down on the inside and then adhere white glitter swirl over the seam binding.

Cut a 2 7/8″x5″ piece of Teal Water Glitter Chipboard  and emboss with Fluer De Lis Cuttlebug embossing folder. Fold 1/2 inch on the 2 7/8″ sides. Once folded this will be the spine of your mini album. Before adhering to the mini attach a eyelet in the upper center of the spine and add the swivel hook now because it will be hard to attach after it is glued down on. I know I have done it and I was about ready to pull my hair out.

I used Mod Podge to adhere both sides of the spine down.

I used clothes pins to hold down the sides until it dried.

For two of the charms I used a bottle cap and a old watch front. For the bottle cap I painted two coats of gesso on the inside and out. Once dry I painted it in Hydrangea  Pink and then sealed in Mod Podge. I used the Epiphany Crafts scalloped circle 25 Punch and Bubble Caps and punched out a 1″ square Cupcakes and then I adhered it to the inside of the bottle cap. Punch a hole in the top and bottom of the bottle cap. Add a jump ring on the top and hook to the swivel hook. The bottom add some dangly beads.
The old watch front I sized one of the digital 1″x3″ Marie Antoinette images down to fit inside of the watch front. Add a small flower with a sequin center to the front and some smaller charms on the “bar” below and attach to the swivel hook. Also add bits of ribbon to the swivel hook.
The backs of the charms.

The front cover and this page came from Cassi’s Creations.  I actually combine the Marie Antoinette and the large rose cupcake together along with a the 1″ square cupcakes and stickles to make these sweet little Maries. 🙂

The inside of the recipe mini I used various digital images which the links are below.

Here are a few of the recipe pages I created using some of my pins from Pinterest.

I can’t wait to try this recipe…YUM!!!

I printed the recipes from my computer and the inside pages I cut just slightly smaller than the cover.

I will be added more recipes to my mini as time goes by.
