Let’s Make Up! Card

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick card I created with y’all today. I had a box of 3 1/2″x5″ blank cards and envelopes that I had picked up at the Target Dollar Spot. The cards are a solid color and I thought they would be perfect to decorate.

I used an assortment of scraps to decorate this card. I added a floral cardstock mat to the front of the card. I printed off this “make up” girl from Lisa Altered Art on etsy and fussy cut the image out and adhered to the corner of the card.

I punched from patterned cardstock a couple of mini flowers, leaf sprig, butterfly, banners and two type of seal punches and adhered to the upper corner of the card. I also added twine, gems and sequins.

I printed from the computer the “I’m sorry…Lets Make Up!” sentiment. I cut, matted with cardstock and glued to the card base. I love the little girl and the quirky sentiment! 😄 As always if you have any questions about this card please let me know.

Eileen Hull: Winged Charlotte Wrap Journal

Hi everyone! I want to share one of my projects I created for Creativation this past January for Eileen Hull’s newest diecut collection called Book Club Chapter 2 which should be hitting your locate craft and hobby store any time this month. I am SOOOOO in love with this newest Wrapped Journal Diecut and I’m sure you will be too!!! Go ahead and grab your favorite beverage and sit back because this is a photo heavy blog post. 😊

For some reason I thought I had taken a photo of the front of the journal laid out completely but I didn’t. I must have got into a “zone” when I was creating this 😉. I inked both spines, inside and out with Faded Jeans Distressed Stain and once dry I inked a glass tray with ColorBox Blends Coconut Ink, added a little water, loaded a paint brush with the color and splattered onto the spines.

I decorated the journal inside with blue and silver cardstock from Momenta. On the cover I fussy cut flowers from a piece of leftover cardstock and adhered to the cover.

Next I added a metal frame and before adding a frozen Charlotte doll (I made from a mold) I glued fussy cut butterfly wings I had in my stash to the back. I forgot to add that before gluing down the metal frame I added loops of thread too.

I punched tiny holes into the spine and sewed two buttons into place. Side note I did add a little adhesive to keep the buttons from moving around. I punched a small hole in the cover and before adding the brad I tied off a piece of seam binding and added a bit of adhesive for good measure to hold everything in place.

I adhered mini pom pom trim to the inside cover of the journal and strung elastic cording to hold the little booklets I created in place.

I cut two papers per signature slightly smaller than the journal and stitched together for a total of four booklets.

I used a wide assortment of diecuts and printables that I had leftover from past projects.

The printables I found in a shop called One Crab Apple on etsy.

Creating these little journals are a great way to use up leftover scraps and bit and pieces of embellishments that you have laying around.

Notice the butterfly theme through out the journal.

I used the “wander” diecut from the Journaling Words Diecuts.

I always remove the zippers and the zipper pulls from bedding packaging and use them as a “body” for butterflies.

I love adding bits of trim to the edges of the pages for a little interest and texture.

Instead of gluing images completely down on the page I only added glue at the bottom and side to create a nice tuck spot for journaling cards.

More little tuck spots behind this sweet little girl image.

This oval diecut I added glue to the top and bottom so all you have to do is slide a photo or journaling card underneath the oval frame.

Several of the fussy cut butterflies I adhered down the center just in case more journaling notes could be added at a later date.

Some of the pages I kept simple for either journaling or photos that can be added later.

Tim Holtz’s Paper Doll where the perfect touch of whimsy throughout this journal.

I turned a journaling spot diecut side ways to create a belly band to hold these two tags.

If you have leftover alphabets use them randomly or as a cute saying in your journal.

I love how the bit of ribbon turned out on the butterfly! It’s the perfect color combo!

The Pom Pom trim adds an adorable touch to the side of this page.

The yellow scalloped piece of cardstock was leftover from a diecut I used on another project. Instead of throwing it away I added it to the bottom of the page for an extra pop of color.

On the last page I added adhesive to the bottom of the diecut to create a pocket to hold a journaling card.

Canvas Corp: Spring "Snow" Globe

Hi everyone! Today I want to share a musical snow globe that I have altered for the Canvas Corp blog. I found the globe sitting in my husband’s study window, all the water evaporated and the base and the “winter scene” bleached from the sun. Bits and Pieces Mini Junk Journal

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a few photos and a mini video of a journal I created for Magnolia Exchange swap I am in. This month’s theme was mini mail whatever you send to your swap partner can’t be no bigger than 3″x4″.

After being paired up with my swap partner I decided to create a mini junk journal for her.

She liked all colors and liked all animals wither they had fur or was scaly. So I tried my best to include what I had in animal images through out the journal.

I raided my stash of stickers, scraps of cardstock and embellishments to decorate the inside.

Blah Blah Journal

Hi everyone! I am here with my Inspiration Team project for Eileen Hull using the new Journal Diecut. I am in LOVE with this diecut! So many ways to use it! Planner, scrapbook and of course journal.

I have a set of file folders with funny/snarky sayings on them and I thought this file folder with “Blah Blah” would be perfect to make a journal out of it. I had to carefully line up the wording and then I taped it down to the diecut before cutting out. Since both sides of the file folder has a design on it and it is made of a sturdy cardstock I just put together according to the directions. I added colorful patterned cardstock to the corner of the cover and an image that I printed and fussy cut from Tsunami Rose Designs.

I adhered lace and sewed a button to the spine.

The inside I added pockets and more fussy cut images from Tsunami Rose Designs. I attached the latch with adhesive and a decorative brad which I covered the prongs with a little washi tape.

I used as my closure a tassel with an attached cord and added elastic cording to the spine so I can add my own handmade journals.

I had a leftover piece of file folder which I turned into a book mark. I started by cutting two of the butterflies from the Birds and Butterflies Diecuts from felt. I added bits of lace, thread and cording to the butterfly before adhering to the top of the book mark. I added pearlized pins for antennas and a button and gem to the body. This is a great way to keep your spot in your journal and its cute too.😊

Of course if you are journaling on the go you need a way to store and take washi tape with you. From my Sizzix diecut packaging I used the Needle Book Diecut and cut a few of the needle books out and embossed with the Fantasy Flowers Embossing Folder. Next I cut several 12 inch pieces of washi tape and wrapped. Easy Peasy!

I also cut two House/Pocket Stitchlet Diecuts out and folded the “roof” down on each diecut and adhered a butterfly from the Birds and Butterflies Diecuts on the tip of the “roof”. I glued two of the corners down to the outside cover and now I have a place to hold washi tape and journaling cards.

Some of the washi tape cards I used a mini clothes pin to hold it in place.

Java Queen

Hi everyone! I am back with another quick project that I created using the Tea Cup Diecut. If you haven’t guess I love tea cups even though I don’t like tea let alone coffee but I sure do enjoy adding flowers and quirky little printables to them. Actually I had cut out this tea cup last year and had pull it together and then put a side because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to decorate it. Do you ever do that? Raise your hand if you have several unfinished projects laying around. 🙋🙋🙋

Well, enough about that! Lets talk about how I decorated this tea cup. 😉 I added pink velvet ric rac to the base of the tea cup and sequins and Dew Drops around the rim.

Next I adhered wadding up tissue paper to the inside of the cup. Next I fussy cut the coffee girl and you can find that printable HERE and glued her to the tissue paper and then added the moss. I added paper flowers from my stash, some Leaf Diecuts leftover from another project, lace and tulle to finish off my project. Felt China Doll Passport Journal

Hi everyone! I am here today to share a project I created for Eileen Hull’s blog! The team this month has teamed up with Kunin to show case their felt. The cool part about this felt is it is recycled from plastic bottles…you would never know by the texture!

I created a mini traveler’s notebook from the Passport Diecut for my mom for Mother’s Day.

I started by cutting two covers from white felt, two inside covers and a spine from White Paper Leather. Before adhering all together with Fabri-Tac Adhesive I embossed the paper leather covers with the Waffle Embossing Folder and the spine with the Daisy Wreath Embossing Folder. I forgot to add the paper leather I adhered to the inside of each cover to give the journal just enough rigidness yet flexibility for the journal to expand.

I also cut another cover from felt, cut in half used the Scallops on the Edge Diecut to add a little interest to the pocket.

I used the following ColorBox Blends (these inks can be found on Eileen Hull’s etsy account HERE) on the cover and pocket: Frog, Leaf, Melon, Tutu and Sunshine inks by applying color to my glass palette and adding a little water and then I splattered each color of ink separately and let dry.

While the covers and pocket where drying I cut from the Stitchy Flower and Leaf Diecuts a few flowers from the white, peach and olive felt. For the white felt flowers I painted those in Melon and Sunshine and let dry.

I fussy cut this china doll printable that I had purchased from Oxford Impressions (no longer available) and adhered to the cover. I adhered the flowers with gems, pearls and button to the doll.

I found this micro notebook at Michael’s and thought this would be perfect to add to the inside of the journal. So all I had to do was add elastic cording and add the notebooks.

I had a leftover piece of notebook divider…you know the ones that you can purchase at Target in the Dollar Spot for a dollar? I folded and rounded the corners and added to the center elastic a place to hold sticky notes just in case my mom needs to jot down a reminder.

In the back pocket I added a gift card to Hobby Lobby and a mini black gel pen but my mom she can use the pocket to receipts, stamps or whatever.

I love how easy it was to use the felt and how well the inks that I used on it turned out!

Mini Bird Junk Journal

Hi everyone! Has the weather started warming up where you live? Here for the most part we have had days in the 70’s to upper 80’s with everything in full bloom. I think we have skipped Spring and jump right on into Summer. 😎
I wanted to share my finished junk journal with you all. Do you remember I did a how to on how to stitch this journal? If not you can find that post HERE. Well, here is the finished project!

I used a variety of scraps of cardstock, stickers and bits and pieces I had laying around to create this little journal.

I even used a paperbag that held silverware in it from Chili’s to add tags to.

The blurbs I cut from packaging and added Stickles for some interest and of course I have to always add a paper doily to any journal I create. 😊

I forgot to add that I sewed in a total of six papers and that is including the paperbag.

I love how chunky this little journal turned out!

Butterfly Angel Journal Part Two

Hi everyone! I am back with part two of my butterfly angel journal for Tsunami Rose Designs! If you didn’t catch part one of how I decorated this cover you can find that post HERE.

I used leftover printables from last month’s tag project for Tsunami Rose which included Ephemera Set #12, Junk Journal Kit-Rose Notecards, and Rose Clipart Floral Set #14.

I kept the bulky embellishments to a minimum by using glitter, sequins, flowers and mini gems since this little journal contains lots of pockets for tags and journaling cards.

There are three signatures in this little journal with three papers per signature which turned out being one chunky little monkey! 🐒

Tsunami Rose Designs: Rose Notecard Tags

Hi everyone! I am here to share three tags I created for Tsunami Rose Designs using printables out of the Ephemera Set #12, Junk Journal Kit-Rose Notecards, and Rose Clipart Floral Set #14.
I started by cutting three tags from the Junk Journal Kit-Rose Notecards Set using the Tim Holtz’s Tag and Bookplate diecut. I added lace tassels to each tag which I finished off with a button and pink thread. I side note the lace had been cut from a curtain that was going to be thrown away. 😊

The first tag I fussy cut the bird cage and roses out from the Ephemera Set #12 and Rose Clipart Floral Set #14 and placed over an embossed scalloped circle. I added a line of adhesive down the back of each images. This way you can still add bits of gold thread and pearl sprays behind the images. I also added patterned cardstock, sequins, a felt heart and trim.

The second tag I fussy cut more images from the same two kits that I had used on the tag above. Once the image were cut out I adhered the butterfly wings to the back of the dress form before gluing to the tag along with patterned cardstock. I added the flower image along with a punched and shaped flower, pearl sprays and green thread to create a quick but elegant tag.

The last tag I fussy cut the rose vase and woman from the Rose Clipart Floral Set #14. I chose to go a little quirky with this tag. I cut from patterned cardstock a Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangles Large and adhered off center of the tag. I then added the woman and the rose vase which I turned upside down and adhered to her head. I added a mini flat back pearl to the necklace, a sequin and gem to the center of the rose, green thread and pearl sprays to the rose vase. To finish of this tag I adhered a bit of pink velvet ribbon and button and thread.
