Bits and Pieces Mini Junk Journal

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a few photos and a mini video of a journal I created for Magnolia Exchange swap I am in. This month’s theme was mini mail whatever you send to your swap partner can’t be no bigger than 3″x4″.

After being paired up with my swap partner I decided to create a mini junk journal for her.

She liked all colors and liked all animals wither they had fur or was scaly. So I tried my best to include what I had in animal images through out the journal.

I raided my stash of stickers, scraps of cardstock and embellishments to decorate the inside.

Also I included a quick flip through video so you can see more of the inside.

Also if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Also I would like to submit this project for the following challenges:

Blossom the Hare Tag

Hi everyone! I am back with another quick tag I created using an assortment of leftover diecuts from previous projects. I started with a diecut from the Caddy Bag as the base for my tag. I also used a Beaded Circle and a Scalloped Rectangle Diecuts from Spellbinders (both are retired diecuts).
I went through my collection of scraps of patterned cardstock and cut six slim strips and adhered to the base of the tag. Next I added the beaded circle, scalloped rectangle and a circle diecuts off center of the tag.

I stamped Herbert Hare Stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper, fussy cut out and watercolored with an assortment of Eileen Hull’s ColorBox Ink which can be found HERE I added fussy cut set of roses to the head of the hare and then glued to the corner of the tag.

I stamped the word “blossom” from the Tall Word Collage Set and added it to the circle. I cut a single flower from the Stitchy Flowers & Leaf Diecuts. I shaped, adhered Dew Drop, sequins, thread and I added a small sprig of leaves to the front. I added pom pom trim to finish off the tag.

Also I would like to submit this tag for the following challenges:

Micro Paisley and Pink Planner and Goodies

Hi everyone! I am back with a quick post about a micro planner I created for a swap I was in. I used Eileen Hull’s Passport Diecut to create this micro planner for my swap partner Nancy. The swap was a color crush swap and we had to put together a collection of items in our swap partner’s favorite colors and Nancy’s favorite colors are soft pink and sage green…I had problems finding sage green items. 😞

I created the micro planner from fabric and fusible webbing. If you missed my how to post on how I made the Fabric Travel journal with the Journal Diecut you can find that post HERE.

I added pockets to the inside covers using lace and I added two micro notebooks, a micro scrapbook that I created from 4″x6″ journaling cards and a place to hold sticky notes. This gave Nancy plenty of goodies to have a hand when she is on the go. 😀

I found this fun pen and butterfly charm on clearance at Hobby Lobby. It sure added the right touches to finish off the micro planner.

I also put together an assortment of goodies to use with the planner or use in other craft projects.

I had a few canvas make up bags that I bought from Target with the intent of decorating and giving as gifts at Christmas time…which didn’t happen. So I decorated one of those to give Nancy more storage for her craft supplies.
I cut fabric flowers from the Stitchy Flowers & Leaf Dieuts, frayed the edges of the flowers and added a button along with cording and lace and adhered to the corner of the bag.

Here are some of the goodies I included inside of the bag. If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

I would also like to submit this project for the following challenge:

Shabby Chic Planner and Beach Floral Giveaway Winner Announcement

Hi everyone! I am back to share another journal I created with Eileen Hull’s Journal Diecut. This journal I actually created before my travel journal but with this one I made mistakes (which I won’t point out 😉)and I didn’t take how to photos as I was working on it. 😕 So if you missed the how to of my travel journal you can find the post HERE.

This journal is basically the same other than I used Pom Pom trim, a different type of lace and ribbon was used on the spine.

The inside I used a combination of traveler’s notebooks from Michael’s, Target and Webster’s Pages.

I added lace pockets on the inside covers to diecuts and journaling cards.

And there you have it! If you have any questions about this journal please let me know. Also if you want to see the what the Inspiration Team has been up to hop on over to Eileen’s BLOG.

Linda Israel is the winner of this little matchbox with goodies! Also I decided to giveaway a second small grab bag of goodies and the winner of that is Beth Byrd! Congratulations ladies and please contact me with your mailing info. 😊
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Friday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Pencil Pocket

Hi everyone! I am back with yet another project from Eileen Hull’s newest Heartfelt Diecut Collection. This time I decided to create a pencil pocket with the Journal Diecut and the best part of this is there is no sewing involved whatsoever. 😀

I started by cutting two Journal Diecut Covers from Canvas.

I pinned one side of the pocket cover down past the holes to create a flap.

I ran a line of 3 in 1 adhesive around the edge of the pocket that has the flap and then lined up and placed on top of the other and firmly pressed down to make sure the adhesive stuck together.

I added Pom Pom trim around the outer edge of the pocket.

On the back side of the pocket I added a decorative trim to cover the little holes. 😊

On the front of the pocket I adhered a large piece of lace over the top of the folded side.

Last but not lease I added three sets of velcro dots to the pocket. Now I have a stylish pencil carrier to hold all my goodies. You can see what the Eileen’s Inspiration Team has created with these diecuts HERE and HERE. Also if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is awesome and enjoying!

Foam-dori Journal

Hi there! I am back again with yet another project that I created for Eileen Hull’s booth at CHA/Creativation.  This diecut I am very excited about its release since it can be used to make planners or dori’s as they are called.
I used the Journal Diecut to cut the front and back of the journal from foam. I adhered the front and back together at the spine.

I used Fabri-Tac to adhered lace to the outside of the spine and inside. I also added Ric Rac and Pom Pom trim to dress up the outside of the dori.

I dressed up the inside of the dori with large Ric Rac and a lace pocket to hold notes, receipts or stickers.
I threaded elastic cording through the holes twice and tied off. This will hold four notebooks and in the center I threaded more elastic cording through the spine and tied off. This will keep this dori closed.

As you can see these journals are very easy to put together and they can be used for anything. Be sure to stop by Eileen Hull’s BLOG and see what the other team members have been up to.If you have any questions please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by, hop your Tuesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Whimsical Heart Pocket

Hi everyone! I took a mini break from blogging and I am now back to share a project that I had actually started this past spring and then put away. I had actually cut several of these Heart Pockets Diecuts out but I hope to finish them in-between all of the other projects I have going. 😊

For this project it is best to use a double sided patterned cardstock since both sides will be seen. I put it together according to the direction with Beacon Adhesive Zip Dry glue. I added mini pom pom trim around the heart.

I cut seaming binding and adhered to the each side of the heart and then added a hot pink trim to dress up the back.

Next I added an assortment of flowers, jeweled buttons and pearl sprays to the top corner of the heart along with a bow created from seam binding.

I added a frozen Charlotte charm and some crocheted flowers to the pocket before hanging it from a shelf. What a fun little project!
As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Also I would like to submit this project for the following challenge:

Christmas Time is Near

Hi everyone! Are you ready for Christmas? Me? I am almost there…I still have presents to wrap and a couple of pies to make and I will finally be able to sit back and relax for a moment. Then it will be back to getting projects ready for CHA in January.
Well, I wanted to share a bag I altered. I created this for a swap I was in with my sweet friend Lisa. I first started with a 6.25″x9.25″ kraft paper bag. I used the following cardstock collections to decorate the front and back of the bag: Prima-Sweet Peppermint, Sizzix: Brenda Walton-Merry & Bright and Crate Paper-Bundled Up. I used a scalloped edge punch to create the pocket which I glued to the bag along with a doily and two strips of cardstock. I then cut the Reindeer from Gold Glitter cardstock and adhered to the corner of the pocket. I cut verbiage and numbers from the Merry & Bright collection. The number are from the Billboard Alphabet Diecut. Once everything was cut it was added to the front of the bag.

The back of the bag I adhered cardstock, pom poms and gold trim…the trim was a last year find at Target after Christmas for 90% off! I love a great bargain!
Next I gathered goodies to fill the bag. The little notebooks I found at Target in the Dollar Spot but they where originally 6″x6″. I cut those down so they will fit into a Traveler’s Notebook. Also I cut a tag from a Sizzix diecut packaging and wrapped washi tape samples onto it.

I filled up the bag with Tags I cut from the Merry & Bright Collection. The wreath paper clip I will share how to make those in a later post 😉
I hope you like this little bag I altered and if you have any questions please let me know.

Rustic Christmas Stocking

Hi everyone! Canvas Corp and Petaloo Flowers are blog hopping together and I want to share a  project I created using the Large Burlap Stocking and Petaloo DIY Burlap Flowers which can be painted or misted to compliment your projects. I don’t own a sewing machine and I sure didn’t want to hand sew everything to the stocking so I used Beacon Adhesives Fabri-Tac. It “grabs” fast and dries quick which I love!
I started by adding from my own stash green Ric Rac and red pom poms to the cuff of the stocking.

I misted two of the larger DIY flowers with Gold Glimmer Mist and set a side. The smaller DIY flower I sprayed Plain Jane Baseboard Fire Mist into a disposable bowl and added a couple of drops of water and mixed and with a small paint brush applied the mixture to the flower and let dry. Once the larger flowers are dry I used the leftover Fire Baseboard mist and lightly applied color around the center.
I used the Holly Branch diecut to cut out three holly leaves from a 12×12 sheet of Green Burlap. I then applied Mod Podge to both sides of the leaves and once dry I spritzed on one side Kiwi Glimmer Mist.
Next I made a couple bows from the Natural Jute and Lime Green Hemp. Also I cut two three inch pieces of lace from the Lace Trimmings Assorted Pack, gathered in the center and  folded to make what looks like a fan and tied off with the Natural Jute. Now for the fun part arranging everything on the cuff. I added in a couple of buttons too for some visual interest.

Now it is finished and ready for Santa to fill with goodies. If you do have any questions about this project please let me know.
Be sure to hop over the Canvas Corp’s blog HERE to see other decorated stockings for a chance to win up to eight stockings to decorate for your own family. Also hop on over to Petaloo blog HERE for a chance to win a prize package to make your holiday merry!
