Fox and Flowers Stuffed Envelope Folio

Hi everyone! Summer has been crazy busy which hasn’t left me much time to sit down and blog. There has been crafting but nothing I can share…yet. Anyways, this month’s theme over on Eileen Hull’s blog is Journal Fodder. You ask what is that? It’s anything you can add/stuff/tuck into a journal and here is my take on that theme. So let’s get started!

I cut two of the envelopes from the Journaling Card Envelope and Windows Thinlits. One envelope I folded on all the crease lines. I cut off the end of the second envelope that has the “v” shape and left a 1/2″ flap. I also cut off the side flaps.

Next, I adhered the 1/2″ flap to the bottom of the folded envelope.

I applied adhesive to each of the side flaps and glued the cut “v” envelope together to create a pocket.

I cut another envelope from a floral piece of cardstock slightly smaller and cut a part at all the folds.

I glued each of those pieces to the outside of the envelope.

I cut three pages from an old dictionary and plant book. I punched two small holes in the fold of the envelope flap and holes in all pages and then sewed into the fold/spine.

I tied off in the inside of the folio.

I decorated the cover before adding anything to the inside. I cut an oval from the Journaling Card Envelope and Windows Thinlits and for the cover and insides I used an assortment of embellishments from Garden Party by Maggie Holmes.

First off, I tied seam binding to the cord that has the pages stitched inside. Next,I placed the seam binding across the flap, embossed tickets from the Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits with the Crochet Mandala Embossing Folder. I glued the tickets to the flap, before adhering the oval diecut and gold frame on the outside of the flap.

I adhered the fox and flower to the bottom of the oval frame and the “beauty” puffy sticker to the top of the oval. I added to gold gems to the finish.

The inside flap I added a few puffy stickers and the back pocket I used a piece of cardstock that was embossed with Woven Leather Embossing Folder . I placed the “kind” puffy sticker across the embossed cardstock and added a bee sticker.

The first page inside I cut a tab from the Journaling Card Envelope and Windows Thinlits. I staples it along with a piece of lace the top of the page and added a “be you” sticker to the tab.

The next two pages more puffy stickers, embellishments and a few flowers that I had cut from the Folio Page Pocket and Flowers Thinlits that I shaped with a Stylus , added gems and sequins to each flower.

Behind the “Here We Go” tag I created a tuck spot. The ATC die from the Library Pocket ATC Card and Tab Thinlits I placed a folded piece of cardstock slightly inside the cut line to create a mini book. I dressed the outside up with a butterfly sticker, scalloped circle and a puffy bow.

More tuck spots on the next two pages.

I used the center of the Sunflower Diecut and an embossed ticket to create a unique tuck spot.

I cut out a library pocket and label from the Library Pocket ATC Card and Tab Thinlits. I glued the pocket together and adhered the bottom edge to the bottom of the page. The opposite page I added the center die from the Sunflower Diecut, a couple of punches, banner, puffy flower sticker as decoration.

The library pocket I added a tag and a embossed ticket and I tucked a folded piece of paper.

On the next two pages I glued two sides of the little house diecut to the bottom corner of the page. The opposite page I adhered a scraps of cardstock and a puffy flower sticker to the bottom corner.

I tucked in behind the house a couple of cut a parts.

On the next two pages I added a banner and scalloped circle punch and a couple of stickers to the bottom of the page. The opposite page I added a tab from the Library Pocket ATC Card and Tab Thinlits, a “us” sticker to the tab and a bit of trim to finish this page.

I added folded patterned cardstock and a adorable floral diecut to the pocket to finish.

Spring into Eileen Hull’s Chapter 2 Collection and Slimline Card Project

The Card Case is a Bigz XL ScoreBoards die. This die is specially designed to cut and score thick material up to 1/16″ like matboard, chipboard, leather, felt and fabric so your finished project is nice and sturdy. The finished Card Case die measures 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and has an adjustable spine that goes from 1/2″ to 2 1/2″. This is the perfect size journal to hold your 3″ x 4″ journaling cards, as well as other small items like wallet photos, ATCs and ephemera. I also would like to share a quick card I made using the Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits Set and a few other of Eileen’s dies. So let’s get started!

First, I folded and placed a piece of Blue Cardstock slightly below the cut line of the Journal Diecut and run through the Diecut Machine. I used a 6″x6″ piece of patterned cardstock from my friend Pam Bray’s Cyan Consortium Paper Pack. Since the cardstock wouldn’t cover the card base I had the bright idea to piece together what had been cut and covered with the tickets that I had cut from the Mini Slimline and Tickets Thinlits. I also embossed some of the tickets with the Crochet Mandala 3D Embossing Folder.

I also dug into my stash and pulled out vintage tickets by 49 and Market (discontinued) and a sheet of cut a parts by Maggie Holmes. I fussy cut the little bunny from one of the cards in the cut a part, placed a wreath that I had cut from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits around it and adhered all the bits and pieces onto the card base.

I placed the “think happy” and “be happy” stickers (Maggie Holmes Garden Party) above and below the bunny and wreath.

I cut flowers and leaf sprigs from the Folio Page Pocket and Flowers Thinlits. I shaped with a Stylus, layered, added gems and a bow made out of cording to complete the card.

Little Home Mini Album

Hi everyone! I’m back with a quick little little album I created a couple of months ago. I had received the Shadow Box Frames Set 2 Thinlits and if you know me I can’t just make what the dies are intended to be used for. When I created this I didn’t do any step out photos because I wasn’t even sure I could make it work. I did create another album with steps last month. If you would like to take a look at that post it can be found HERE.

I used the Carousel 6″x8″ Paper Pad for the cover. As well as some of the scraps from this pad where used for the inside pages and embellishments.

I cut out four of the smaller “frames”, folded the flaps (to the inside) and glued both flaps together to create a pocket for the front and back of the cover. The larger flaps I glued together to create the spine for the mini album. I punched holes, added eyelets and strung elastic cording through the holes and tied off inside.

I decorated the cover with and assortment of thinlits and one diecut which included: Shadow Box Elements, Snail Mail, Folio Page, Pocket and Flowers and Scallop Border Movers and Shapers Diecut (retired). Also I used the scalloped die to create the “roof” for the cover of the album. I side note I did cut out several houses, flowers, vines and leaves from all the little bits of scraps of cardstock I had laying around. I figured if I didn’t use it all on this project I would eventually use it on something else.

I did cut out two tags for each cover pocket. I added a Tag reinforcer (Waterfall Card and Tag Thinlits) to the top each tag along with a bit of seam binding.

The inside pages I cut and placed under the elastic cording and proceeded to decorate with the extra houses, flowers, leaves, etc, thinlits that I had cut out a head of time.

I forgot to added I also cut several leaf sprigs from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and used through album.

This Everyday Life Mini Junk Journal

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog! I’m still working out the kinks of WordPress…so different from blogger…so bare with me. Well, anyway I want to share my project that I created for Eileen Hull this month. The theme for August is junk journals. Some of you might be wondering what is a junk journal? It’s anything! Junk mail, old book pages, old music papers, tags off of clothing, scraps of notebook paper, scrap of cardstock that “you think” might be too small to use, that one lonely sticker that you have no idea what to do with it, etc. The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a junk journal.

I had actually started this journal in March and Covid happened! I had to go to Nashville for a week and a half and watch my grandson while my son worked from home and my daughter in law was at the time stilling going into the office to work until she was finally sent home to work too. I had forgotten how hard it was to do anything with…at the time…17 month old getting up early and going non-stop.

I started the cover of this journal by cutting a Gift Box with Gift Box Scalloped Edges and Label Diecut from Mat Board.

I measured and cut 1 5/8″ (spine) for both covers and a 1 5/8″ mat board for the additional spine. I adhered both 1 5/8″ spines together to create the first spine and the small flap at the end of the box I adhered the additional 1 5/8″ spine to the flap and the scalloped flap to the other side of the spine. Apologies for no step out photos, I thought I had taken photos of those steps but apparently not. I cut patterned cardstock larger that the journal cover and adhered the edges to the inside and then cut and adhered cardstock to the inside. I decorated both the outside and inside with leftover diecuts, stickers and embellishments. I also added velcro to the flap and cover to keep closed, a decorative eyelet to the spine and a charm to dangle from the spine.

I cut two strips of cardstock 3″ wide and folded every 3″. I adhered the ends of the two cardstocks together to create a pocket to hold a tag and adhered one of the 3″ squares to the inside of the cover. I forgot to glue ribbon to the inside cover before adhering the accordion style pages to the inside. So my solutions was to “chunk up” the pages so when it is closed the pages don’t sag.

So now for the fun stuff! Decorating the pages! I won’t go into too many details on how I decorated the pages since for the most part are self explanatory.

I used lots of scraps of cardstock and stickers to decorate the pages.

I also created tuck spots throughout the journal.

I used scraps of accounting paper that I cut, folded and stapled together to create tiny journals. To keep those in place I added belly bans to hold them.

Oh, How I Love Flowers Rolodex Card

Hey everyone! I’m back with another quick project I created for the Easter Swap I was in awhile back. I used a Rolodex Diecut that I had purchased from Stampin’ Up! several years ago(retired). But there are Memorydex diecuts that can be used instead and you can find those diecuts HERE and HERE.

I did a lot of layering with what I had on hand in my stash. I started by adding a Medallion Diecut (retired) to the corner of the rolodex card. I know you can barely see it but it was how I built up the layering on the card.

I cut a chipboard banner in to and placed next to the medallion diecut and the other half of the banner I placed on top of the medallion. I added Foam Pop Dots to the other end of the banner. I backed a flower sticker with cardstock and fussy cut and added behind the banner. I placed flowers and leaves diecuts from my stash also to the card.

I finished off by adding two sentiments from my stash to complete the rolodex card. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Oh Deer! Rolodex Card

Hi everyone! I’m back today with another rolodex card I created for a swap I was in. This rolodex consisted of me using a bunch of leftover scraps and diecuts from previous projects that I had laying around on my desk.

I added a Medallion Diecut to the corner of the rolodex card. I placed Foam Pop Dots to the banners to give depth to the rolodex card and then I started adding leaves and heart punches, lace, ribbon and cheese cloth. I used a deer sticker from Maggie Holmes which I placed on a piece of cardstock and fussy cut before adhering on top of the banners. I added a flower from my stash to the deer.

There you have it! A rolodex made with what I had laying on my desk! As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Collect Beautiful Moments Box with Eileen Hull

Hi everyone! I am super excited to share Eileen Hull’s newest Gift Box with Scalloped Edges and Label Diecut from her Chapter One Collection! There is so much you can do with this diecut. The obvious is a box that you can add a gift inside if you like, a book or just decorate and use as a home decor piece.

For my project I used cardstock and cut a parts from an old Recollections paper pad I had. After I put the box together according to the directions I adhered corner protectors to each corner of the box and gems.

I raided my stash of paper flowers and other paper ephemera and added to the box.

I also used chipboard embellishments and stickers from Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes. I tried to add as much dimension as I could to each side. I accomplished this adding Foam Pop Dots to the back of the embellishments.

The top of the box I adhered a doily, decorative diecut, buttons, paper flower and a bow made from cording.

Finding Happiness Pocket Notebook

Hi everyone! I want to share my other journal I created for Eileen Hull for her trip to the UK in September using her newest Pocket Notebook Diecut.

First I gathered up an assortment of Maggie Holmes cardstock Collections to create this journal. Then I applied Adhesive Sheets to the front and back of Matboard before placing cardstock on the front and back of the matboard.

I placed the Pocket Notebook Diecut on top of the matboard and run through the Diecut Machine. I cut two covers out.

I lined up the holes on the spine where only three holes showed both on the top and bottom and adhered together. I cut cardstock to fit both the inside and outside of the spine. I used a Crop A Dile to punch holes and set eyelets in the spine. I also added the elastic cording and tied off inside the spine.

I used the Nestled Borders Rectangles Diecut, stickers, pom pom trim, heart and gem and a couple of flowers and a leaf from Eileen’s Flowers and Leaves Journaling Cards Diecuts to decorate the cover of the journal.
