Canvas Corp: Spring "Snow" Globe

Hi everyone! Today I want to share a musical snow globe that I have altered for the Canvas Corp blog. I found the globe sitting in my husband’s study window, all the water evaporated and the base and the “winter scene” bleached from the sun. I thought this would be fun to give the globe new life by altering and creating a Spring scene inside. For the complete blog post you can find more photos and the how to’s HERE.

Happy Moments Tag

Hi everyone and Happy first day of March! I am here to share a quick project I created using leftover Tattered Angels Glimmer and Simply Sheer Mists from another project that will be hopefully shared soon. 😉

This is a great way to use up mists from previous projects. All I did was place the tag onto the glass tray and let the tag soak up the leftover sprays. The following Glimmer and Simply Sheer mists I used are: Rum Punch, Peony, Soft Peach and Gold. I made sure both side were placed in the mist and then I let dry.

I used Crate Paper’s Bloom Paper Collection on this tag and the image of the girl and chicks I purchased a few years ago but I’m not sure the name of the company or the collection?
I added the happy moments cardstock off center along with bits of lace and ribbon to dress up the little girl and chicks.
The back of the tag more cardstock from the same collection was added and of course a tag wouldn’t be complete without a doily.

Before cutting the flower arch and flower from the Floral Arch and Words Diecuts I cut a piece of Adhesive Sheet big enough to cover the pieces of cardstocks and then I ran through the diecut machine. All you have to do is peel the backing off and place on your project…easy peasy! I finished off with the other chick diecuts and a small amount of pom pom trim.

As always if you have any questions please let me know. Also I would like to submit this project for the following challenges:

Canvas Corp: Be Yourself Canvas

Hi everyone! Sorry if I have been MIA  but I have been cranking out projects for Creativation/CHA  which I can’t share until a later date but now I am able to share my first project of the year with y’all!
Each year Canvas Corp crew members are asked to create a 4X4 canvas and this is what I came up with.
I spritzed the 4×4 Canvas with the following Glimmer and Simply Sheer Mists: Bahama Blue, Verdigris and Baby Blue…if you haven’t figured out these are some of my favorite colors to work with. 😊 Once it was dry I gathered up an assortment of Canvas Corp and 7 Gypsies cardstocks and started fussy cutting and punching out before I got down to layering everything onto the canvas.

I cut out from the following scraps of cardstocks I had laying on my desk: Architextures Old Window and Architextures Stenciled Crates cardstocks, roughed up the edges of the cardstock, added a piece of a doily and inked all before adhering to the canvas base.

I fussy cut the woman from the 7Gypsies Seamstress Pattern Cardstock and since there was and arm going a cross the body and the woman’s legs hung off the canvas I decided to cover it with a saying and banners. Also from my own stash I fussy cut butterfly wings from a printable and added to the back of the woman. I didn’t glue the wings down so I could curl to give them a little definition and I added Stickles to the wings. Also I added three little gems to the hat for a little bling.

The banners I cut from the Architextures Market Signs cardstock and the sentiment is from the 7Gypsies Gypsy Moments: Pose and Reflections cardstock. I inked all of the edges and cut the sentiment a part before adhering to the canvas.

From the 7Gyspies cardstock scraps I had laying around I distressed the edges of cardstock, inked and adhered around the edges of the canvas.

The front of the canvas still looked a little bare so I punched out flowers and leaves from my Canvas Corp cardstock, shaped and added gems and flat back pearls to the flowers.

This was definitely a fun project to create. If you have any questions about this project please let me know.
Also I would like to submit this for the following challenge:

Eileen Hull: Flower Basket

Hi everyone! I am  so excited to share my first project from CHA/Creativation using Eileen Hull’s newest Heartfelt Collection! This little flower basket is created with the new Basket Diecut, Mat Board and the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.

After all the pieces to the basket was cut out and embossed I spritzed all the pieces (both sides) with Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist and once dry I splattered with Gold Glimmer Mist. I then put it together according to the direction of the packaging.

I used a scrap of white cardstock and I cut out and painted three of the flowers and a leaf from the Stitchy Flowers and Leaf Diecuts. Once dry I shaped, glued together and added a Dew Drop to the center of the flower.

I adhered the flower between the basket handles with a couple of loops of thread and added lace to the top edges of the basket to finish it off. Be sure to hop over to Eileen’s BLOG to see what the other Inspiration Team members have been up to and as always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Fall Fairy on Wheels

Hi everyone! I am here to share my project I created for Eileen Hull’s Inspiration Team. This month we are showing how to use the Twist and Style Tool. You can do all sorts of fun things with this tool…jewelry, create stems for flowers, etc.

For my project I started by cutting from Matboard the “drawer” from the Candy Box Drawer diecut. I embossed the drawer with Honeycomb Embossing Folder and spritzed both sides with the following Tattered Angels mists: Walnut Gold, Bronze and Tattered Leather. I then put the drawer together according to directions.

Next I cut four 8 inches of 20 gauge jewelry wire, folded in half and put each end through the button holes. To use the Twist and Style tool you can watch the how to video HERE.

Once I got all the buttons and wire twisted I cut the wire down to fit the bottom of the drawer to create wheels which I adhered to the drawer.

I printed a little girl image that I had found on the Land of Nod blog (which has since been deleted :-(). I fussy cut the little girl out, used butterfly wings from my stash, added a little Stickles to the wings and then adhered together and then placed in the drawer box.

I cut a Rosette from specialty paper, adhered to the top of the drawer a long with a small bead.

I twisted a few copper color wire on the Twist and Style tool and then I wrapped the wire around a small dow.

I added moss, a mini pinecone with an assortment of flower and leaf punches to the inside to finish off my little drawer on wheels.

Be sure to hop on over to Eileen’s blog to see what the Inspiration Team has created this month. You can see their projects: HERE, HERE and HERE and as always if you have any questions please let me know.

America the Beautiful

Hi everyone! I want to share a card I created for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.  I started out with a 4 1/2″x5 3/4″ of8 lb Ivory Cardstock which I spritzed with the following: Rum Punch and True Turquoise Glimmer Mists and Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. The Aqua Plain Jane Stained Glass I spattered and used a lid to make designs on the cardstock.

Once dry I embossed and rubbed a brown chalk ink over the raised images to bring out the words. Plus I was looking for a faded and time worn look.

I cut and folded the Navy and Kraft Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock to make a 6″x6″ cardbase. Adhere a 2″x4″ piece of  Red and White Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock to base. Also you can either adhered lace to the embossed image or if you have a “lace punch” you can punch from the 8 lb Ivory Cardstock.

Added pop dots and blue thread to the back of the embossed image and then adhere to the base of the card.

Next fussy cut the Statue of Liberty from the Bon Voyage on Ivory Cardstock. Spray a small amount of Monolith Chalkboard Glimmer Mist into a bowl. Add a little water and then paint the entire Statue of Liberty and once dry glue to the corner of the embossed image. Since I couldn’t find the right sentiment for my card. I printed it from the computer. I distressed, cut both ends to create a banner, adhered on top of a strip of Red and White Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock and finished off with sequins and Dew Drops.
If you have any questions about this card please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Sugar and Spice

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a mini recipe album I created for Canvas Corp’s Save a Recipe Challenge. I started with two of the Black and Ivory File Folders as the cover of for my recipe album.
First I cut the tab off of the striped folder.

Score at the fold 1/4″ three times on the back side of the striped folder.

The diamond pattern folder cut one inch off the tab end and scored 1/4″ four times on the front side of the folder. Measure and mark 1 1/2″ three times down spine of folder and punch for a total of six tiny holes.

Run three Small Binding Rings through the holes.

Adhere the diamond folder on top of the striped folder.

Now for the fun part I decorated the cover with a doily, twine, flowers, a mini Recipe Card and black tulle along with a flour sack, baking powder and barely pears that I fussy cut from the General Store on Ivory Cardstock

I also used the following Tattered Angels Glimmer and Chalkboard Mists ( Moss, Mint Julip, Ruby Red Slipper, Monolith) to add a little to color to the images I fussy cut. The flour bag I also tied red burlap thread to the ends of the bag for a fun look. I added the fork and spoon from the Cutlery Set to finish off the cover.

I cut a sheet of the Bake and Can Recipe Cards a part, punched holes and added to the album and the inside cover is decorated with the Farmhouse Kitchen Stripe Cardstock.

Also I forgot to mention on the front cover I cut and adhered a 1 1/2″ x5″ piece of Black and Kraft Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock on top of the doily before I added all the other embellishments. I punched a hole on the overlapping tab and also punched a hole in the crease and threaded twine though both holes and tied off to create a closure.
If you have any questions about this recipe album please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Sending Love Your Way

Hi everyone! I want to share a Valentine’s Day card I created for a challenge over at Canvas Corps blog. I started with a 5×7 folded kraft card as my base. I used a scrap of Black and Ivory Toile cardstock, inked the edges with chalk ink and then centered and adhered on the base. Next I added a black doily, strip of Red and Ivory Ribbon Stripe Cardstock and  a small strip of the hearts from the Sending Love Words on Ivory Cardstock to the card front. In the bottom corner I adhered the Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment from the same sheet of Sending Love Words on Ivory Cardstock.

I cut down a Kraft Coin Envelope (4 3 1/8×5 1/2) and punched a heart from the Red and White Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock which I adhered to the envelope along with a sequins and a dew drop. Next I splattered a Canvas Artist Trading Card with Cross My Heart Glimmer Mist and Bronze Glimmer Mist. Once the ATC dried I adhered it inside the envelope and added thread, dew drops and a sentiment from the Sending Love Words on Ivory Cardstock. There you have it a very simple card. I plan on giving this to my parents as part of their Valentine’s Day present. If you have any questions please let me know.
