You Will Forever be My Always ATB

Hi everyone! Can you believe this month is almost over and July is just around the corner??? I keep asking myself where did June go??? I have had a crazy June to say the least, emergency room, a hospital stay and now a rash that my husband says is shingles…I say no way cause I don’t hurt just itch. I have felt like I just don’t have enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished that is on my to do list. Maybe July will be good to me…fingers crossed. 🙂
I’m here to share a ATB I created using Eileen Hull’s Scoreboards XL Die Box Square. I used from the Robin’s Nest Wedding {in love} CollectionLight Ale Dew DropsPearl Dew Drops and Peach Glitter Cardstock to make an adorable block that could be used as a table decoration at a wedding.

I love the cut a parts that the Robin’s Nest now has in the Wedding {in love} Collection. All I had to do was cut out one of the sayings and add leaves, flowers, that I shaped and dew drops.

I used a Copper Shimmer Mist to add color to both bird cages that are on the ATB.

This sentiment I especially love! I can honestly say this is truly how I feel about my husband.

The top view I decorated with diecuts, buttons, dew drops, pearl spray and flower.

In all this was a quick ATB to put together other than shaping flowers and leaves. 🙂

Also I’m playing along with Eileen Hull’s The Art with Heart June Challenge that is still going on for only two more days. So please be sure to stop by and check out what everyone else has created.

Wedding Tea Cup and Robin’s Nest Design Team News

Hi everyone! I’m here to share some exciting new!!! I get to still be a part of the Robin’s Nest Design Team!!! YEAH!!! I am also excited there are some familiar faces coming back  and new ladies that will be sharing their creativeness with everyone.
Also I would like to share a quick project I created using Robin’s Nest products and the tea cup template from the Layers of Color blog. I sized the tea cup and saucer down 65% and printed it on the backside of the Wedding Swirl Glitter Cardstock. Then I cut it out and adhered it together. I glued a Gina’s Designs Cardstock Doily on top of the saucer before I glued the tea cup on top of it. I printed a vintage wedding couple from Graphic Fairy and fussy cut it out. I added a little tissue inside the tea cup and adhered the wedding couple to it. Next I cut out a saying from the Wedding Cut-Outs Cardstock and inked the edges, cut out a rosette from the White on White Classic Glitter Swirl Cardstock and then adhered to backside of the couple. Then I finished it off with Dew Drops, lace and paper flowers and flowers punched from Peach Glitter Cardstock.

This would make fun table arrangements for a wedding.

"Cat-titude"

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a mini album I created out of coffee filters using the Special Delivery Collection from the Robin’s Nest which is 20% off this month and we are cross promoting with EC crafts

The mini I created isn’t the typical baby mini album. I made this with my cat, Omega in mind…thus, the title “Cat-titude” meaning cat with attitude. 🙂
I started with four coffee filters as the base for my mini album.

I traced the filters onto the Special Delivery Cardstock and the Pink Rose on Green Cardstock and then cut out and inked the edges. Here is a tip…line up your words and stripes before you trace and cut out or you might have your words upside down or your stripes going in a weird way. 🙂

Next I used my Bind it All to punch holes in the pages and then cinch the 3/4″ O-wire.

This is what the mini will look like once the O-wires are added.

Next I “speckled” the cover and pages with a marker spritzer (I got this several years ago from Stampin Up) and Frayed Burlap Distress Marker to give the pages a bit of “well loved” look.

These two pages I kept pretty simple. I used a chipboard baby bottle from Gina’s Design which I painted. The other page I used the backside of the Forest Trees Specialty Paper to matt the photo of Momma cat and kittens.
I actually got to see these kittens be born. I really wished I had taken photos when this happened but at the time I had not planned on keeping any of them. The momma cat, Miss Bonkers had followed me  around all day and wouldn’t let me out of her sight. Well, when she finally went into labor and had all of them it was 2:00 in the morning. Omega was the last kitten to be born and was half of the size of the other three kittens. Omega meaning last is how she got her name since she was the last to be born. 🙂

I used from the new Lodge Collection the Birch Tree Paper Straws which I inked with and brown chalk ink and then I punched leaves from Wrap Glitter Cardstock, shaped and adhered to the side of the paper straw. I topped it off with a button and dew drop.
The other page I cut from the Lodge Cut Outs Cardstock the trees and inked the edges and adhered to the page…letting some of it hang off the side of the page. I added to the top of the photo The View sticker which is from the Outdoors Stickers set. I punched two leaves and shaped and topped off with a button, sequin and dew drop.

This is one of my favorite photos of Omega way up in a tree just laying there. She always got chased up a tree by my other cat, Cotton.

I cut from the Pink Glitter Cardstock four scalloped ovals from the Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Ovals diecuts and embossed all with the Flowers and Leaves embossing folder from EC crafts. I plan on adding more photos and finishing my journaling to these pullouts later on.

I cut a matt from the Forest Trees Specialty Paper and adhered a photo of my husband and Omega to it. My hubby was already asleep when Omega got in his lap and went to sleep never waking my hubby. 🙂 Next I printed and cut out from the Collage and Charm Words Mix Media Altered Art digital sheet “sweet dream” and adhered above.
The “loved” photo is one from my Instagram account. I used a wooden photo frame that I had received in a swap and added three pearl dew drops from Crimson Mini Dew Drops to top it off. I had a leftover Valentine Hearts cardstock that I cut a scallop diecut from and a scrap leftover from a heart cutout that I adhered to the page.

The back cover of the mini along with ribbon, fiber and charms that I added to the O-wire.

The front was major fun to do. Since I had scraps from past DT projects I used those and a script cutout from the Lodge Cut Outs Cardstock, Forest Trees Specialty Paper, dew drops, bling, decorative frame and doily from Gina’s Designs and a sticker of a vintage cat  that I had bought years ago that I thought would look perfect on the front.

Easter Bluebird Cup

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a super fun project I created for the Robin’s Nest using the Spring Collection which is 20% off this month and we are also cross promoting with Altered Pages too.

I love creating these little tea cups and saucers. They are quick to create and makes a fun gift to give to someone that collects tea sets or it could make the perfect place setting at a party.  All you will need to do is print off the Paper Tea Cup and Saucer onto Spring Flower Glitter Cardstock and then cut out and ink the edges of the saucer before adhere together.I spritzed a doily from Gina’s Designs with Tattered Angels Lemon Zest Glimmer Mist once dry I glued it to the saucer and then adhered the cup on top of the that.

I next fussy cut from the Sweet Easter Cards printout the little bluebird. In the bottom of the cup I wadded up a piece of tissue paper and glued inside. Next I adhered the bluebird to the tissue paper.

Next I added Easter grass around the bird to cover the tissue paper.

Now all you have to do is add paper flowers, mini eggs, lace, ric rac and anything else that is Easter related. See super easy and cute to boot!!! 🙂

Love Paper Sack Mini Album

Hi everyone!!! I have been sooooo busy creating cards, swaps and design team projects and I just haven’t got around to blogging but I’m now back to share one of my projects I created for a swap I was in on Facebook. We had to altered a 300 count matchbox into a Valentine’s Day theme and add handmade goodies inside of it. Well, I’m going to share the mini album I created using five 4″x6″ paper sacks. I did cut the tops down a little so the mini would fit into the matchbox. I used Baker’s twine to bind it together.

I used bits and pieces of leftover cardstock, scrapbook paper, lace, stickers and images to put this adorable mini together.

I also put together a package of die cuts, stickers, ribbon and dew drops so my swap partner, Norma, could add more to the pages if she wanted to.

Also I shared this mini and matchbox on Maya Roads Facebook page for a challenge they had going on…there is a chance to win a prize package. I have my fingers and toes crossed that I win something. 🙂
Come back Tuesday (treat holder) and Wednesday (matchbox)  to see what I created.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is awesome and enjoy creating!!!

Banner of Love

Hi everyone! It’s me, Tonya and I’m here to share my project that I created for the Chattering Robin’s blog using the Wild About U Collection which is 20% off this month. Also we are cross promoting wonderful laser cut chipboard pieces and die cuts with Gina’s Designs. I came up with an adorable Valentine’s Day banner that I created using small 4″x6″ paper sacks, felt heart shape Christmas ornaments, red foil heart shape doilies and vintage children images some I found on the internet and one I got from a Crafty Secrets sheet of vintage images.
For more on how to create this adorable Love Banner hop on over to the Chattering Robin’s blog and check it out!

It’s Your Day

Hi everyone!!! It’s me Tonya and I’m here to share my card I created for the Crafty Card Gallery blog. The theme for this month is either black and white or penguins. Well, I do have some penguins stamps but decided to go the black and white route.  I used the backside of the Wind Flame with Thermal Icing , Black and White Glitter Border Swirl and Black Glitter Swirl on White cardstock from the Robin’s Nest to create the base and decorate the front of my  5″x8″ card along with some other scraps I had laying around. The corset diecut is from Gina’s Designs which I painted with white acrylic paint and once dry I added extra fine glitter to the top of it. Next I added gathered lace to make a skirt and last but not least I printed out “It’s Your Day” sentiment to the card.

Super easy card to make!!! It could be used either for a bridal shower or wedding card.

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for stopping by, hope your Saturday is awesome and enjoy creating!!!

Christmas Junk Journal Part One

Hi everyone! Wow!!! Christmas is almost here and if you are like me you have good intentions of making gifts for everyone and then you run out of time. Well, I’m here to share a junk journal I created using the Christmas Collection (North Pole) which is 20% off this month over at the Robin’s Nest. These journals are really easy to make and you can knock out several in no time.
The bases for a junk journal is to use what you have on hand. You can use old maps, wall paper, sheets of music, paperbags, pages from books, old ledgers pages, etc. You will need a variety of what I just listed (nine pieces) I started with a 9″x12″ envelope which I folded in half. The papers and bags I chose are smaller and fold those in half too.

Next make a guide on paper of where to poke holes in the spine of the journal and then mark your holes for each page. I have a bottle cap hole punch I used. It works perfectly when you punch each page folded.

Next thread about a yard in a half of red and white baker’s twine on a needle and stitch all pages together and tie off on the spine.

The inside of the journal should look something like this before you start adding cardstock and embellishments.

The cover I used Black and White Holly cardstock which I cut just a little bit smaller than the outside cover. I then inked the cardstock with Powder Puff Limeade Chalking Ink to add just a little more color to it. Next cut a yard of green seam binding in half  and adhere to the front and back covers and then glue the Black and White Holly cardstock to the front and back covers. Also the little tag that is attached to the baker’s twine is from a Christmas present tag that I thought was too cute to throw away…which I have several I have saved through the years not knowing what I could use them on. Well, now I do. 🙂
Next to add embellishments to the front cover!!! I added a glimmer misted paper doily with a snowflake ornament with Pearl Dew DropsSt. Nick printable from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden… I also used the backside of Black and White Holly cardstock to matt the St. Nick printout and I also used the Celtic Border Punch  from Purple Cows site which is one of our sponsors this month to make the “distressed” border around one of the corners of the matt. Pretty cool huh? So when you get a chance be sure to check out their website for some super fun punches and dies. I also used the Sizzix Medallion diecut is cut from the backside of Snow Covered Glitter Cardstock…which I inked with Limeade chalk ink, book plate, with dew drops and last but not least I cut a banner from Red Distressed Cardstock. There you have it the front cover decorated.

A view of the journal tied.

The inside was so fun to decorate. I used a variety of found objects such as Christmas present tags, stickers and embellishments I received in swaps and also Robin’s Nest product too. The inside cover I used the backside of Red Snowflake Cardstock and the opposite page I used Jolly Dew Drops to decorate Sizzix Christmas Tree Album diecut that cut out from corrugated box and then painted with acrylic paint.

I added a Black journaling block which I made into a pocket to hold the Christmas present tags I had saved. Since the tags had writing on the back I covered them with some scraps of cardstock. Also I used a digi image from Printable from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden and fussy cut it out and added it to the journaling block.

Close up of journaling pocket with Christmas present tags.

I cut a stripe of the Red Snowflake Cardstock and adhered on three side to the page to make a pocket, next I added sequins and dew drops to the center of each snowflake. The opposite page I added a few snowflake stickers with a dew drop in the center of each and spelled out North Pole using red alphabet stickers.

The pull out tag I cut from Flame Glitter Swirl cardstock is actually big enough to add several photos and journaling.

A close up of the North Pole page. I used a Alaska map for this page. Pretty cool huh? 🙂

I kept both of these pages simple. I used Spellbinder’s Oval die to cut Black and White Glitter Pine Tree cardstock die along with a wooden snowflake that I glimmer misted a wooden snowflake and added a Red snowflake, button and dew drop. The music sheet page I simple punched from the Red Distressed Cardstock a scalloped circle and used a cut out and wha-laaa!!!

This is where I am going to stop for now. I will share the rest of my junk journal on November the 30th so be sure to mark your calendar to see how everything turns out. 🙂 Be sure to stop by the Robin’s Nest and check out the awesome Christmas Collection that is on sell 20% off.  Also while you are at it be sure to check out the Purple Cows site and see their wonderful selection of dies and punches.

Animal Print with a Vintage Twist

Hi everyone!!! I’m back this month to share a Rolodex holder with cards that I created using some awesome Animal Print cardstock that is 20% off over at the Robin’s Nest.  Also this month we have teamed up with Gina’s Designs to showcase some of their wonderful products too.
I love to alter Rolodex cards and belong to a few groups over on Swap-bot that are solely dedicated to altering these little works of art. I have a collection of this cards but no holder to put them in. I didn’t want the typical holder that you buy out at an office supply place. I wanted to create one but didn’t know how or what I would use. After much thought and one failed attempt this is what I came up with.

This is what my Rolodex holder started out as before I altered it. I actually used the “drawer” of the matchbox to create the holder…hold onto the “sleeve” because I might just have a project for next month using that in some fun way…wink wink 😉

The front of the box measure 1/2 inch down and mark with a pencil. Cut down to the mark on either side of box.

Fold down and adhere to box.

Next cut 4 chipboard pieces to 3/4×4 1/2 inches and another 4 chipboard pieces  to 1 3/8×4 1/2 inches. I used a Rolodex card and centered the holes by drawing in each piece of chipboard. Then punch a hole in each one. Line up holes in the the 3/4×4 1/2″ chipboard and adhere all together. Then do the same with the 1 3/8×4 1/2″ chipboard pieces. These will be glued in later on the front and back inside of the box.

Use a ruler and draw a line at an angle on each side of the box and then cut.

Paint the sides of the box in Spa Blue paint both inside and out. Cut a 2 1/2×4 1/2 ” piece of     Dino Feet Glitter Cardstockemboss with the Snowball embossing folder and adhere to the inside bottom of the box. Cut a 4 1/2x 4 7/8″ piece of Teal Giraffe Cardstock and  punch two holes in the 4 1/2″ side of both ends. I used the two pieces of chipboard that I glued all four pieces together as templates for the teal cardstock. Now you are ready to adhere both of the 3/4×4 1/2″ and the 1 3/8×4 1/2″ to the inside of the box. Use either binder clips or cloths pins to hold the chipboard in place while it dries. Next adhere the teal cardstock (as below) starting by lining up the holes and wrapping the cardstock around the box until the other end is folded over and the holes are lined up. Again use either binder clips or cloths pins to hold everything in place until it dries.

Next cut with a small hand saw two 2 1/2″ pieces from a 3/16″ dowel and paint  both with Spa Blue paint and let dry.
Once the dowels are dry insert into the holes in the box. Below is what it should look like.

Cut a piece of Teal cardstock 3×5″ and then score a 1/2″ all the way around the holder. This is considered the “skirt” which you can glue trim to. Fold down and cut the “corners” out to were it should look something like this below. Next adhere to the bottom of the holder. Let dry and then glue the spools to each corner of the holder.

Next adhere lace and ric rac to the “skirt” around the holder.

I inked and painted some of the chipboard pieces from Gina’s Design. I let them dry. Then I used The Paper Studio A2 Script Embossing Folder to emboss the butterfly and then inked it in Sahara Sand Chalk Ink.

Cut a small piece of Dino Feet Glitter Cardstock to fit the frame. Emboss and then adhere to the back side of the frame. Since I don’t have any pop dots available I used some of the “extras” that are around a set of  rubber stamps I had just bought. I cut and adhered to the back of the frame and then glued it to the holder along with the butterfly and dew drops.

Waalaaa…cute!!!

Now comes the fun part!!! Decorating Rolodex cards!!! You can either buy the blank Rolodex cards at an office supply place or if you are like me you can either use a diecut and use cardstock like I used the Chocolate Glitter Leopard Cardstock. Or cut them and use a Rolodex tab punch which can be bought at a office supply place too. You can make your cards larger than the standard card…the choice is yours. 🙂

I fussy cut the lion out of the Red Lion Cardstock and used a Crocus Yellow wash on the lion and then let dry. Add bits of scrap cardstock, stamped sentiment and a dew drop.

There is no right or wrong way to decorate these cards just have fun and get creative!!!

You can cut images off of envelopes like I did the sunflower below.

The elephant I fussy cut from the Blue Glitter Elephant Cardstock and I also used some printables from Garden Carnival Composition Book Digital Kit and

Vintage Circus Party Printables to spruces up the front and back of this Rolodex.

I used Brown on Brown Animal Print Cardstock and added some stamped tags which I hand cut out. I received these in a swap so I’m not sure of the names of the stamps???

I used the Dino Feet Glitter Cardstock for this Rolodex card. Another stamp image, scraps of cardstock, a Gina’s Design Doily, some alphabet stickers and a birdie image.

Last but not least is a stamp I actually own. This adorable China doll name is Lottie and it is by Pink Persimmon. I added a flower, dew drop, button, Gina’s Design Doily, lace, scraps of cardstock and the stamped word beautiful.
