Thinking of You Peacock Card

Hi everyone and Happy 1st of May! As the weather starts warming up and my time indoors is less, you know gardening and time in the pool, I wanted to share a quick and easy card I created. I used Eileen Hull‘s Faux Postage Thinlits and the Floral Silhouettes Thinlits (only at Scrapbook.com) to create this card in under 15 minutes. So let’s get started!

First, I folded a piece of Blue Cardstock in half and placed the “fold line” slightly inside of the of the rectangle thinlit from the Faux Postage Thinlits before running through the Diecut Machine. Side note, I did use wash tape to hold the thinlit in place while running through the diecut machine. This keeps the thinlit from shifting.

Second, I selected the peacock cardstock from the Flourish 6″x6″ Paper Pad (retired). I had already cut off a portion of the cardstock to create a journaling spot and the cardstock didn’t completely cover all of the Faux Postage Thinlit so I centered the image onto the thinlit and ran through the diecut machine.

Third, I cut a mat from White Cardstock and adhered to the back of the peacock image.

Fourth, I glued the peacock image to the card base.

Fifth, I used a scrap of Watercolor Paper, placed onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, placed the journaling box stamp from Simple Sayings Stamps Set, inked with Black Ink and stamped onto the watercolor paper.

I removed the journaling box and placed the “Thinking of You” stamp sentiment onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with Black Ink and stamped inside of the journaling box image.

Sixth, I fussy cut the image with Scissors and adhered to the bottom corner of the card. I cut three flowers and two leaf sprigs from the Floral Silhouettes Thinlits (only at Scrapbook.com), shaped the flowers with a Stylus and glued two together and adhered one leaf sprig to the back before placing it to the lower corner of the sentiment. The other flower I cut one of the leaves off from the leaf sprig and glued to the back of the flower before adding to upper corner of the sentiment. I glued two gems to the center of each flower to finish.

The Faux Postage Thinlits can take any large graphic image on a piece of cardstock, you know the ones that you really aren’t sure what to do with it, and and turn it into a simple card. Or you can remove a few of the “postage stamps” and replace them for a completely different look. So many possibilities!

Mini December Tags

Hi everyone! I’m back with another project and this time I create a couple of mini tags from some old Graphic 45 and Authentique cardstocks that I had in my stash (both are now retired). I love to create tags, to me, they are easier than cards to make. Once made I place them on a jump ring so I can go back and look at them. Anyways, I didn’t do step out photos but enjoyed the creating process and wanted to share the finished results.

First, I cut the largest tag from the Waterfall Card and Tags Thinlits from the Graphic 45 cardstock. The other Graphic 45 cut-a-part I used an assortment of those and a Santa cut-a-part from the Authentique cardstock along with bits and pieces of cardstock, diecuts and a bow. I used chalk ink lightly over the edges of the tag to age it. I also placed Foam Pop Dots to the back of the Santa image before placing onto the tag.

Second, the back side of the tag I used more scraps of patterned cardstock, a Christmas tree cut-a-part from the Authentique and a fussy cut holly from Graphic 45 which I shaped with a Stylus before adding to the tag.

Third, the next tag is actually from the Graphic 45 cut-a-part. I added a game ticket to the side of the tag. I punched a hole at the top. I cut and embossed a label from the Everyday Tags and Labels Thinlits(only at Scrapbook.com) and glued three of the edges to the tag before adhering the “Happy Holidays” sentiment and postage stamp to the pocket.

Fourth, I placed two tags from the Graphic 45 cut-a-part inside the pocket.

Fifth, the other side of the tag since it already have a Santa image I only added a “ho ho ho” image and a fussy cut poinsettia, that I added foam pop dots to the back before placing onto the tag. I finished off by adding a bow made from thread.

Here’s another idea on how to use tags if you don’t want to keep them on a ring like I do. They can be added to journals or attached to a gift.

Always be an Original Card

Hi everyone! I am back with a quick card I created using some inks and a creative card by ColorBox. Last week was very crazy because my husband had a health scare and wound up being sent to the ER by his personal doctor and then was admitted to the hospital and kept over night for a procedure. 😳 So all my big plans for being productive and posting for last week was put on hold. But anyway…lets get started!

I stamped the Escape Pigment Ink onto a glass tray, add water to each color and painted around the building images on Cityscape Creative Card.

I used a “dappling effect”with the Paint Brush to create a cloudy look on the base of the card and then I let dry.

I cut two strips of patterned cardstock and adhered near the top of the card. Next I cut out one house from the House One Diecuts (Spellbinders retired) or you can cut a house out by hand. I adhered the house diecut to the card and add mini gems to the top of the house die to create a roof.

I printed from the computer the sentiment “Always be an Original”, punched out with a decorative punch, inked around the edges with the Escape Pigment Ink and adhere to the card.

I punched two flowers and two leaves from patterned cardstock, shape and glue to the sentiment and house. I  also added flat back pearls to the center of each flower and adhered a couple loops of thread underneath one of the flowers. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

ClearSnap: Need a Good Cry Kleenex Belly Band

Hi everyone! I want to share a project I created using some of the new stamp sets that ClearSnap has come out with this month!

I started with the ColorBox: Buttercup Clear Stamp set, some patterned cardstock and a 8.4″x8.4″Kleenex Tissue Pack for this project.

First I cut one 2″x10″ patterned cardstock and 2 1/2″x10″ orange cardstock and wrapped the 2 1/2″x10″ around pack of Kleenex and adhere at the end of the cardstock to create a belly band. I completed the same step for the 2″x10″ patterned cardstock.

I cut one Beaded Circle Diecut from the Yellow and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse Cardstock and adhere to the center of the belly band.

I stamped the “You Need a Good Cry” sentiment with Wicked Black Ink onto a piece of cream cardstock and cut the end of cardstock to create a banner. I inked the edges of the banner with Marigold Ink and adhere to the belly band.

I adhered sequins and gems around the Beaded Circle Diecut and punched two seals from patterned cardstock and adhere to the corner of the “You Need a Good Cry” sentiment.

Next I punched a heart from patterned cardstock and glued on top of the seals.I punched a mini flower, leaf sprig from patterned cardstock and cut one leaf off of the sprig and adhere to the back of the flower before gluing to the heart. I finished off by adding a gem to the center of the flower. There you have it! If you have a friend that is down and having a rough time this is a perfect pick me up that hopefully after they have a good cry will bring a smile to their face. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Candy Sleighs

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a quick Christmas project I created. I found these Candy Sleighs over on Pinterest and decided to create a few to add with some gifts.

I didn’t add as many miniature candy bars as was shown but it still makes a nice little gift.

If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is wonderful and enjoy creating!
