Party Time

Hi everyone! I’m here to share a card I created for the Crafty Card Gallery blog. This month’s theme is chocolate, cookies or sweets.  Well, since I have an embossing folder of cupcakes and I found this cupcake journal card which is from Crate Paper I thought this is the perfect combo. The cardbase measures 4″x5″ folded and the cardstock is from Craft Smith Gradients Collection.

I added a red sequin and a red dew drop to the cupcake to finish off this card. I went simple this month because of the fact that I pinched for time and for fear of loosing electricity since we got about an inch of rain which turned to ice but so far so good I still have power. 🙂

If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Let Them Eat Cupcakes

Hi everyone! I’m back with a project I created with some awesome Glitter Swirl cardstock that is 20% off this month over at the Robin’s Nest. The cardstock is elegant but I wanted to convey something fun and whimsical. Do you remember last month I had the leftover sleeve off of the 250/300 matchbox from my Rolodex holder I  had created?
Well I created  something elegant, fun and whimsical with that little sleeve. I combined my love of cupcakes and Marie Antoinette and came up with a mini recipe album. 🙂

First you will need to find the center of the 1 1/2″x5″ side of the sleeve…I just took it a part on the side that was glued together. Once apart I made my cut with my paper cutter.

Next cut one 1 1/2″x5″  and two 3 1/8″x5″ pieces of chipboard. These are for the ring binder and for the front back of the mini recipe book…this makes it more sturdy.

Paint the spine with Ceramcoat Hydrangea Pink. It gives your project a more finished look.

Cover the 1 1/2″x5″ piece of chipboard with White Glitter Swirl on White cardstock.

Take the ring binder and lay on top of the 1 1/2″x5″ piece of covered chipboard. Line up and lightly make a mark as to where the holes need to be punched and then attach the ring binder with the brads that are included in the pack.

Adhere the 3 1/8″x5″ chipboard to the front and back sides of the matchbox sleeve.

Cut two 4″x6″ pieces of Pink Glitter Swirl on Pink Cardstock and adhere to front and back of sleeve. Next the edges of the cardstock over and glue.

Measure and cut two White Glitter Swirl on White to fit the inside of the mini. First glue the seam binding down on the inside and then adhere white glitter swirl over the seam binding.

Cut a 2 7/8″x5″ piece of Teal Water Glitter Chipboard  and emboss with Fluer De Lis Cuttlebug embossing folder. Fold 1/2 inch on the 2 7/8″ sides. Once folded this will be the spine of your mini album. Before adhering to the mini attach a eyelet in the upper center of the spine and add the swivel hook now because it will be hard to attach after it is glued down on. I know I have done it and I was about ready to pull my hair out.

I used Mod Podge to adhere both sides of the spine down.

I used clothes pins to hold down the sides until it dried.

For two of the charms I used a bottle cap and a old watch front. For the bottle cap I painted two coats of gesso on the inside and out. Once dry I painted it in Hydrangea  Pink and then sealed in Mod Podge. I used the Epiphany Crafts scalloped circle 25 Punch and Bubble Caps and punched out a 1″ square Cupcakes and then I adhered it to the inside of the bottle cap. Punch a hole in the top and bottom of the bottle cap. Add a jump ring on the top and hook to the swivel hook. The bottom add some dangly beads.
The old watch front I sized one of the digital 1″x3″ Marie Antoinette images down to fit inside of the watch front. Add a small flower with a sequin center to the front and some smaller charms on the “bar” below and attach to the swivel hook. Also add bits of ribbon to the swivel hook.
The backs of the charms.

The front cover and this page came from Cassi’s Creations.  I actually combine the Marie Antoinette and the large rose cupcake together along with a the 1″ square cupcakes and stickles to make these sweet little Maries. 🙂

The inside of the recipe mini I used various digital images which the links are below.

Here are a few of the recipe pages I created using some of my pins from Pinterest.

I can’t wait to try this recipe…YUM!!!

I printed the recipes from my computer and the inside pages I cut just slightly smaller than the cover.

I will be added more recipes to my mini as time goes by.

Let’s Party!!!

Feeling really, really, really  good today considering I’m another year old 🙂 Yep it’s my birthday and I would like to share a birthday card I created 🙂 I had a ton of fun making this little card…lovin’ the colors and how happy it makes me feel 🙂
The base of the card is 6 1/2 x 6 cardstock which is then folded in half. I then cut various sizes of patterned paper and adhered to the front of the card. I used the Sizzix Bigz Rolodex die and then embossed it with the Cuttlebug Once Upon a Princess Cupcake folder. I did ink all of the edges of paper with Sweet Melon Color Box Classic Pigment Cat’s Eye ink.The rubber stamp is from Studio G which I stamped onto a piece of cardstock. I then stamped the image on some light blue and brown cardstock which I fussy cut that out and glued to the main birthday cake image. I colored the flames orange and a red bling to the top. Last but not less I used a Note rub on from Maya Road to make the small tab on the Rolodex card.

I hope this has inspired you to create something fun!!! Thanks for stopping by and looking!!!
Enjoy creating!
