DIY Tags from Scrap Cardstock: Quick and Easy

Hi everyone! I’m back with my first project of the month for Eileen Hull. I created two quick tags using the largest tag die from the Waterfall and Tags Thinlits. Tags are a great way to use up scraps of cardstock and those random bits of lace or embellishments that cover your desk. Anyways, let’s get started!

A decorative tag featuring a butterfly illustration, the text 'W is for wings', and 'DO NOT CRUSH' prominently displayed. The background includes colorful patterns and a vintage label.

First I gathered up scrap of cardstock that coordinated with the color of the tag. I inked the edges of the scraps with a combo of blue and brown chalk inks and adhered to the tag.

A decorative tag featuring a butterfly illustration, the text 'W is for wings', and a label reading 'DO NOT CRUSH'. The tag has a colorful background with polka dots and floral patterns.

The “W is for Wings” is a printable, the butterfly is a chipboard piece and the “do not crush” sentiment is from one of Tim Holtz’s collections. I glued all to the tag to finish.

A decorative tag featuring a vintage black-and-white photo of a woman in a white dress, embellished with colorful paper layers, floral accents, and a round clock with the text 'Five-O'clock'.

The second tag I used an assortment of cardstock and a little piece of ledger paper which I inked with blue chalk ink. I adhered all to the tag.

An artistic tag featuring layered colorful papers, floral embellishments, and a vintage black-and-white photo of a woman in a white dress. A decorative clock with the text 'Five-O'clock' is prominently displayed.

I added a Mini Paper Dolls, a clock face and floral chipboard pieces, oval scalloped frame and the “five-O’clock” sentiment to the tag. I used thread to create a bow and adhered underneath the sentiment to finish. Oh how I love creating tags and have already started more! I’ll be sharing those soon.

Eileen Hull Sizzix Collection for Journal Lovers

It’s that time again! This Eileen Hull Sizzix release was designed with journaling in mind! If you have never journaled before, this collection of seven products is a great place to start! In it, you will find everything that you need to get going. If you have been journaling for a while, you will want to add these items to your stash. The pieces are very versatile. They will coordinate with many of the other dies you may already have. I’m also sharing some sneak peeks of projects I have created that will be shared in full later.

The base die is the 5” x 5” x 1” Mini Album Diecut. It is a Scoreboard die specially designed to cut and score thick material. It cuts in one pass, making it so easy and quick! You can also use this die to cut the pages that go inside.

There are three accessory Thinlits dies: Floral Pocket and Paperclips ThinlitsBookmark, Pockets and Toppers Thinlits, and Charms Thinlits.

They cut pockets, bookmarks, embellishments, paper clips, charms, and extras. These can be used to decorate the pages of the book.

There is a stamp set called Fan Favorites Stamps. It includes 61 words and phrases. You can use them inside the book, on cards, and tags!

Plate and Pattern Layered Stencils is a four layer stencil- each layer may be used separately or all together. Create page backgrounds or use on your gel plate. You can outline and stitch the design on fabric. Another option is to trace shapes and fill them in with watercolor. The Floral Damask 3D Embossing Folder is a multi-level 3D embossing folder. It creates a beautiful background. It’s useful for journal pages, cards, and tags!

Pink and White Storage Box

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with another project using the Storage Box Diecut by Eileen Hull. I only used one diecut for this project. Which is hard to believe because I’m a firm believer in using an assortment of dies, thinlits and embossing folders…yikes! Where was my mind when I was making this!?!?! Also I took no step out photos. I was in the moment and I had it made before I realized it…sorry about that! Anyways, let’s get started!

First, I applied Adhesive Sheets to both sides of Mat Board, then a light pink cardstock, placed onto the Storage Box Diecut, placed in-between two cutting plates and run through a Diecut Machine. Side note, I cut out the parts of the box twice.

Second, I used Prima Dulce Paper Collection (retired) to cover and embellish the lid and the box. Since this paper pad is a 6″x6″ paper pad I thought it was the perfect size to use. I picked sheets from the pad that had multi prints/advertisements and cut slightly smaller than the box and the lid and adhered to each side of the box and lid. I dressed up the top and bottom of the box with pink trim from my stash. I also added a pink trim around the top of the lid.

Third, I dug into my stash of paper flowers and glued to the lid. I added cut a parts, bits of lace, ric rac, strands of pearls, pom poms and loops of thread to finish the lid.

There’s so many uses for this box, such as adding a present and giving as a gift or using it as decorative storagebin your home. Do you have any other suggestion on how you would use this box? If you do leave your comment below.

Also if you haven’t been by Eileen’s blog lately to see what her teams have been up to you can find the latest post HERE.
