Discover Comfort and Joy at Eileen Hull’s Fan Club Event

Hi everyone! If you haven’t heard, the Comfort and Joy Event hosted over on Eileen Hull’s Fan Club is still going on. Today, in the Fan Club Facebook group, I am sharing a how-to video. It provides a detailed guide on creating this snowman ornament. I used an assortment of diecuts and thinlits by Eileen Hull. In the group I have the complete supply so you can gather your supplies before watching the video.

The ONLY WAY to view this video is to be a member of Eileen’s fan club. If you aren’t a member of the fan club you can join HERE (but sure to fill out the questions). It’s a fun group to share your Eileen Hull projects. You can ask questions and also see what craft projects Eileen will shares on her weekly Facebook Lives.

Day 10 of Eileen Hull’s Comfort & Joy Event! Build a Snowman Shaker Page

Hi everyone! We need some fun in our lives so all of us at Eileen Hull Designs put our heads together and came up with an event that you can participate in as much or as little as you’d like. It’s a challenge of sorts and we’d like to see you to make a Holiday Journal for this season using any of Eileen Hull Design’s book dies. Your journal could include activities, photos, recipes, shopping lists, daily thoughts, etc. Really, it can include anything you want; after all, it’s your journal!

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between November 27th and December 23rd there will be a post in the Eileen Hull Fan Club from one of Eileen’s team members with a prompt for a journal page. These prompts are meant to get your creative thoughts flowing and give you page ideas for your Holiday Journal. It might be in the form of a blog post, Facebook Live, recorded quick video, or a Facebook post in the group. It’s up to you to take it from there and we can’t wait to see what you come up with, so please share your covers and pages with us in the Eileen Hull Fan Club. If you aren’t a member request to join and be sure to answer the questions so you can be approved.

Today is my day to share a page in my Christmas Memories Journal for day 10 of the Comfort and Joy Event. If you missed the journal blog post you can find all the details on how I created that journal HERE.

Since I live in the South it is rare I get play in the snow or building a snowman. I thought I would created a “build a snowman” shaker page using the Christmas Box Snowman Diecut and Album Page Insert to create a shaker pocket.

I started by cutting off the edge of the album page insert with the holes and folding in half. If you don’t have these type of page inserts you can also use the inserts that baseball and football cards are stored in.

I cut two of the snowmen diecuts out of patterned cardstock and adhered back to back. You can use a double side cardstock but the one I selected was red in color on one side and a red snowman just didn’t look right. I cut out two of each: scarves, carrot noses and arms and assembled the snowman. I added black gems for the eyes and buttons for one side and a fussy cut poinsettia for the other side of the snowman.

I cut and applied Double Sided Adhesive to the inside edge of each pocket.

I added an assortment of clear glitter, sequins and snowflake sequins to the larger pockets before adding the snowman and a snowflake ornament. I peeled the backing from the adhesive and sealed.

The smaller pockets I did the same steps before adding the toboggan and hat to the pockets. The center pocket since it folded in the center I only added glitter and sequins.

I cover the adhesive strip with washi tape. Here’s a tip if the washi tape doesn’t want to stick to the pocket you can add adhesive to keep it in place.

There you have it! I hope you have a chance to make one for yourselves. As always if you have questions please let me know.

If you aren’t a member of Eileen Hull’s Fan Club be sure to answer the questions when you join so you can follow along in the Comfort and Joy Event and see what everyone else in the group is creating! It really is a fun group to be a part of!

Christmas Memories Journal

Hey everyone! I’m back this week to share my project for Eileen Hull and the theme for this month is Season’s Greetings. Next month over in Eileen Hull’s Fan Club we are doing a Comfort and Joy Journal (December Daily) project with prompts and I decided I would at least get my journal cover cut out and decorated. (Trying to be a head of the game) I used the Journal Diecut for my project along with a couple other diecuts.

I cut a file folder down, still folded, to fit on top of the Journal Diecut and placed slightly past the cutting blade of the diecut (so I could have the spine intact) and run through the Diecut Machine.

This is how the cover looks once cut.

I re-enforced the spine on the outside and inside with patterned cardstock.

I adhered double mats of cardstock to the front and back covers and added a double matted banner to the lower corner of the front cover. I applied an Adhesive Sheet to a scrap of cardstock, cut the Christmas sentiment out from the Holiday Blessings Christmas Phrases Diecuts, added the “memories” sticker from the Big Chat Sticker Pad to the banner along with the Christmas diecut. I cut a piece of the puffy wreath sticker to look like it was behind the banner and added to the banner. I cut out the holly and berries from the Funky Festive Diecut Set and placed on the corner of the memories sticker.

I did add elastic cording to the spine and placed some cardstocks, wrapping paper, notebook paper, etc. but that could change. I haven’t decided if I’m going to add more pages or if I will move the pages around. I guess just what and see what I come up with. 😉

If you have any questions about this project please let me know. Also if you haven’t checked out what the rest of Eileen’s Inspiration Team has created you can find those posts HERE and HERE.
