Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 Sunflower Shadow Box Reveal

Hi everyone! Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 release is finally here and I’m so excited!

The Geometric Box is a different kind of design for Eileen. I love the ease of assembly, the unique shape and and the possibility of expanding the box into larger containers! This is a ScoreBoards die so it may be cut from sturdy materials like matboard, chipboard, metal, leather and fabric. The finished box measures 4” h x 3” w x 4” d…or so…a fun feature of this die is that it adapts to how you shape it. There are so many possibilities with this die.

Use the Geometric Box for storage-for pencils, silverware, flowers, or tools. The box may also be used as a gift container-imagine adding teabags, a pretty silver spoon and a bow as a get well gift or as a home decor piece (wait until you see one of my upcoming projects)!

The Sunflower is a Bigz L steel rule die-designed to cut and score a myriad of materials. The Sunflower is BIG- it measures about 4″ across and comes with a leaf, three sizes of petals and a flower center! Stack layers of petals to make a traditional sunflower, or change colors and create a pink coneflower or use easy flower shape to create a unique floral arrangement. The basic shape is there for you to create your own flowers! Make a stem for the flower using wire and your Twist and Style Tool. The coordinating Geometric Box die works perfectly as a vase.

The whimsical patterns of vintage cutlery of the Silverware 3D Embossing Folder is gorgeous! The design is so detailed you can actually see a tiny bride and groom on the handle of a cake server.

This folder is perfect for creating seating charts, menus, invitations, cards and recipe books. You would be surprised at the many materials you can emboss- metal, paper, cardboard, Sizzix texture roll and more. Once you have embossed the image, rub a light coat of a metallic Luster Wax over the top of the design and you have an amazing result!

I hope you will give these dies a try. Please remember to share them in the Eileen Hull Fan Club Facebook group so we can all be inspired!

My first project from this release I used the Sunflower Diecut along with the Shadow Box Frames Set 2 Thinlits and the Skinny Mini Elements Thinlit from past releases. So let’s get started!

First off, I cut out four of the smaller frame sides from the Shadow Box Frames Set 2 Thinlits and put together according to directions. Side note…Eileen Hull has a few videos on YouTube and on her Facebook Lives where she shares how to put these together. I cut out the Skinny Mini Thinlit, inked the edges and then tore pieces off of the diecut image to give it a tattered look. I crumpled scraps of patterned cardstock before adhering, both the die and scraps and scraps of lace, to the inside of the shadow box.

I pulled yellow, dark yellow, green and brown cardstock from the Eclectic Surfacez Cardstock Collection and cut two sets each of the large and middle flowers and one center and leaf from the Sunflower Diecut. I inked the edges of each and shaped the flowers (including the center) and leaf with a Stylus. I glued all pieces together. I watered down black, gray and white acrylic painted, loaded a paint brush with each color and splattered paint onto the sunflower.

To raise the sunflower up off of the shadow box I added three layers of Adhesive Foam before placing onto the box.

I placed some glittered sprays, tree twigs and bows made from cording under the sunflower to finish off this home decor piece.

Also be sure to join Eileen on her Facebook Page for her live at 12:00 noon eastern time October 3rd, 2022. You can find that link HERE. The best part besides seeing the new dies is there’s a giveaway! Be sure to comment on the Release Party video and answer this question, “What would you create with these dies?” Eileen and the team would love to hear all your amazing ideas! There will be two winners-one on Facebook and one on YouTube. Entries closed at 5:00 pm on Oct. 10. Winners will be announced on Eileen’s Tuesday 10/11 livestream.

Condensed Snowflake December Daily Journal Reveal

Hi everyone! I’m back this week with the full reveal of my December Daily using Eileen Hull’s Full Size Journal Diecut. My motto it’s never to early to start working on a Christmas project…it’s my favorite time of year. So let’s get started!

All I had was the 6″x13″ Mat Board so I decided I would create a traveler’s notebook since I had notebooks on hand. Well, after applying Adhesive Sheets to both sides of the mat board and file folders to either side I cut two covers. One was a little off so I was going to even it up with my Paper Cutter…the cover slipped so I wound up cut both sides down to 3 1/2″ wide. Before adhesive the spine together I “peeled” one of the indented pieces of the spine off so the spine would be flat.

I cut a piece of polka dotted cardstock and adhered to the cover. Next I cut the circle from the Ornament Box Diecut and snowflake from the Wreath and Snowflake Thinlits and glued to the bottom corner of the journal.

I dressed up the snowflake with a mini snowflake ornament (I cut the hanger off), sequins, round and snowflakes, flatback pearls and the edges of the front and back covers I adhered Pom Pom Trim and gold Ric Rac.

Next I set eyelets in each hole before stringing elastic inside the journal and cut and placed cut patterned cardstock, notebook, accounting and dotted papers to create the inside signature.

I will probably add more pages to it later as I go but for now it is finished. Be sure to stop by Eileen Hull’s blog to check the latest creation from the Inspiration and Educator Teams. You can find those posts HERE and HERE.

If you have any questions about this project let me know.

Lets Party with Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 Release!

Hi everyone! Today is the day! The Chapter 4 Sizzix Release is exciting for so many reasons- there are two never-done-before designs! One is the Full Size Journal which is a Bigz Pro size- you will need a machine with at least a 9″ throat to cut this die- like a Big Shot Plus or Pro. Not to worry- if you don’t have that machine, Eileen will have the pre-cut pieces available in her Etsy store for you to work with. The other new technology is a 3D Embossing Folder! It’s called Sweater and is oh so cozy. Also new this release is a Bigz Notepad die with lots of options for materials and uses, and a Heart Mandala Thinlits to decorate with!

I chose to create a “condensed” December Daily with the Full Size Journal Diecut. Later this month I will share the full reveal of my journal…so be sure to come back later in the month!

Also there is a GIVEAWAY too- leave a comment on each of the designers’ blog posts and you will be entered to win one of the new dies! Details can be found on Eileen’s blog HERE. Another prize will be given to someone who attends and comments in the Release Party Facebook Live.

Chapter 4 Release Party Blog Hop: Lets Party Album!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be a part of Eileen Hull’s Chapter 4 Release Party! There are two new ScoreBoards releases from Eileen Hull and Sizzix! Are you ready for a new 3D Bigz L Tea Cup die? It can be filled with teabags and other assorted goodies or use the Tea Cup cutout on the front of a card there are so many possibilities. Also new is the XL Post Box, a fun little box that goes together in 10 seconds and has a slit in the top to tuck a gift card. You will have fun embellishing in your style to create holiday treats for everyone on your list!

I used the Teacup and Spoon Diecut to create a fun little Birthday Party Album along with several of Eileen’s older diecuts (several that are retired): Banners and Pennants, Bookplate, Hinges and Label, Credit Card Sleeve and Tags and Sweet Treats for You Diecuts.

I cut out six tea cups, backed two with Chipboard to make the front and back covers sturdy, from the Let’s Celebrate Collection. Also most of the collection is double sided.

I also cut out two of the “walls” (lack of a better word) and cut “flaps” off and adhered together to create little pockets for some of the inside pages.

The tea bag diecuts I cut out several and added thread bows and I cut banners out from the Banners and Pennants Diecuts and placed on top of the tea bag diecut and stapled together.

I decorated the cover and inside with a mix of diecuts. I also fussy cut a ton of images from the paper pad and added sequins and pearls to the pages.

I cut several pieces of lace, Ric Rac and fiber and tied all of the teacup together to finish the album. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

To hop along with the Chapter 4 Release you can find the rest of the Inspiration Team and Educators projects HERE.
