Sparkles Sparkly Snowflake Slimline Card

Hi everyone! I’m back this month with another card using my Sparkles Snowman Happy Holidays Clear Stamp Set! I would have had this blog post out sooner but came down with a nasty cold that took forever to get over and a wedding album to finish while not feeling my best. UGH! But anyway, I’m back and getting better each day.

I started by placing the snowman face stamp onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inking with Black Ink (waterproof) and stamping an assortment of images onto Cardstock and Watercolor Paper so I could work on projects as I found time. Also some of the images didn’t stamp clean but, no problem, I made them work for each project I created (more projects to come later). A side note I forgot to use the magnet to hold the paper down and that is how I didn’t get a clear image…totally my fault.

This image was one that it didn’t stamp clean so I decided to to use pastels to add “smudges” around the eyes, nose and mouth so the image wasn’t a complete loss. I hate wasting the watercolor and cardstock! I filled in eyes, nose and mouth with chalk pastels and Colored Pencils.

I used the Journal Diecut to cut the card base for a regular slimline card. I folded a piece of cardstock in half and used Washi tape to hold in place on the diecut. I made sure the card was 3 1/2″ across when I placed on the diecut before running through the Diecut Machine. A regular slimline card measures 3 1/2″x 8 1/2″ and will fit into a #10 size envelope. I added a snowflake patterned piece of cardstock, a stripe of patterned cardstock to the card base, matted the snowman image, added Foam Pop Dots to the back before adding to one end of the base.

I stamped the sentiment and matted to a piece of cardstock before gluing both, sentiment and snowflake ornament, to the base. I have a box of these snowflake ornaments that I got for dirt cheap so I use them regularly in various projects. All I do is cut off the “hanger” if I’m going to use it in a project like this.

I forgot to add that I applied glitter glue to the eyes of the snowman and there you have it! Also if you aren’t following Blank Page Muse on their social medias you can find them on:

Circus Love

Hi everyone! I found these scalloped cards I cut out from the Sizzix Scallop Card diecut several years ago along with a 4 1/2″x6 1/2″ pad of The Great Circus Company from Paper Studio. The set of Graphic 45 Cling Le Cirque 3 rubber stamps I had purchased at a great price at Tuesday Morning (2.99). Which of course I couldn’t pass up. 😉 I couldn’t decide on if I wanted to do Valentine’s Day theme cards or just wanted to keep them generic and finally wound up doing generic theme. So far this is what I came up with…I have a couple of more to do. 🙂

I stamped and used pastel chalks to color the images and then set the chalk with hairspray. Also I printed the sentiments from the computer and I inked all the edges with brown chalk ink.

I added sequins for a little bit of fun bling to the cards. Plus it is flat and should mail easily.
If you have any questions about these cards please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Dragons Lair Designs: The Shoe Fairy

Hi everyone! I am super excited to be sharing my first design project for the Dragons Lair Designs! This month’s featured product is from the Southern Comfort Collection. After pondering on what I could create with all these wonderful digital images this is what I came up with.
First I printed one of the Southern Comfort Paper onto a 5″x7″ sheet of cardstock. Then I ran the paper through my diecut machine to cut out the Rolodex card. If you don’t have a Rolodex diecut you can find a Rolodex punch at your local office supply store that can punch the notches in the bottom of the card. The Rolodex card is approximately 4 1/2″x2 1/2″.

Next I fussy cut individual images out from Southern Comfort Cluster Pack and Southern Comfort Elements digital packs which I inked edges and added Stickles to give some of the images a little glitter. Then I adhered to the top of the Rolodex and embellished with fun and whimsical crafty goodness.

The Southern Comfort Free Journal Card Sheet I fussy cut the woman with the violin out, applied pastel chalks to her dress, face and violin and glued one of the feathers to her back and then adhered her into the shoe. Both of these images where cut out from the Southern Comfort Cluster Pack. I also punched a crown from the leftover scraps that was printed and added pastel chalk to give it a little color. There you have it my whimsical little Shoe Fairy Rolodex card! I hope this has inspired you to create one for yourself. Please be sure to stop by the Dragons Lair Designs and check out the Southern Comfort Collection. There is just so much you can do with this collection!
