Butterfly House and a Reindeer Card

Hi everyone! I wanted to hop on the blog and share a couple of projects I created over three years ago for a Stamper’s Sampler magazine call. I mailed these off May of 2013 with the hopes of maybe they would be selected for the magazine. I figured after this amount of time it wasn’t selected. 
The first project was for the template challenge in the magazine which was butterflies. I started with Eileen Hull’s House Gift Card Holder and cut out a house diecut and embossed with one of Tim Holtz’s embossing folders (if I find the name of the folder I will update my blog…sorry three years has gone by you know 🙁 ). The butterfly template I printed off in several different sizes on copy paper, cut out, traced on cardstock, cut those out, stamped and adhered to the front of the house. I did add a pull out with the word “FLY” to the tab.

The second project is a 3″x6″ Christmas card I created using Robin’s Nest cardstock and Dew Drops. I so love the reindeer stamp I used!

Maybe there is still I chance it will be selected for a future Stamper’s Sampler magazine? Who know? 🙂 But I wanted to share these with you. If you do have any questions about either one of these projects please let me know.

Tsunami Rose Design: Tea Party Dessert Cards

Hi everyone! I am here to share my project for Tsunami Rose Designs! This month I used the following Tea Party Desserts and Tea Party Desserts Add On kits to create three cards.
I will start with the first card…which is my favorite…I cut and folded a 5 1/2″x5 1/2″ piece of kraft cardstock for my card base. I had leftover piece of printable large enough to frame the base of the card which I adhered along with a doily to the front of the card.

I cut out one of the envelopes from the kit, put together and inked the edges before adhering to the bottom corner of the card.

The leftover bits from the flowers, leaves and teapot I had fussy cut I didn’t throw these away but crinkled, rolled up, distressed and inked and added as filler in the pocket. Next I filled in blank spots the fussy cut flowers and teapot. I also added the sentiment in the bottom corner of the card.

I added a couple of flowers, lace, pearl sprays and pink thread to finish off these card.

The next card I cut and folded a page from the kit to create the base for the card. I fussy cut the signage/flowers and birthday cake out and added to a doily and patterned cardstock.

I added Stickles to the cake and once dry I added tiny gems to the center of the flowers that are on the cake. I also adhered a flower, some leaves, thread, trim and a birthday sentiment that I had printed from the computer to finish this card off.

The last card I cut and folded a 4″x6″ piece of kraft cardstock for the base of my card and added a piece of leftover printable to the base along with a doily. I then adhered a banner and the chocolate image to the card. 

Next I embellished the daisies with buttons, sequins and Dew Drops.  The sentiment I printed from the computer and I finished off the card with a flower,thread and a pearl spray.

The cake and chocolate cards are so easy to put together and only took me about and hour (minus fussy cutting) and now are ready for when I need a card to send to my friends or family. I tend to do all my fussy cutting while watching TV or if I have to wait at the doctor’s office…it makes time go quicker 😉

Eileen Hull: Mini Cheery Flower Cards

Hi everyone! I am here to share my Inspiration Team project for today. This months theme is cards using Eileen Hull’s diecuts. I am always in need of little enclosure cards for gifts and these are some fun cards I came up with.

I started with the Spring Leaves and Heart & Soul Flower diecuts and cut six flowers and six leaves from felt.

Next I cut three Needle Book diecuts from Yellow and Ivory Mini Reserve Dot Cardstock and folded each one in half to create my card base.

Next I back stitched three of the leaves down the center. If you are unfamiliar with how to do  the back stitch you can google or bing to get the directions.

For each of the leaves placed another felt leaf on the backside blanket stitched them together. The blanket stitch directions can also be found on the internet.

 For each of the cards I adhered the flowers and a leaf together.

I added a strip of patterned cardstock to the center of each card.

The center of each flower I glued a button and a mix of sequins, gems and Dew Drops to each.

Jute Fairy

Hi everyone! I want to share another project I created a few months ago but wasn’t able to share until now. I used jute matboard from Crescent and Eileen Hull’s Canning Jar 3D item # 658453 (this diecut is retired), Heart and Flower and Spring Leaves diecuts.

I put everything together according to the directions. I shaped the flowers and added buttons to the centers, along with twine and pearl sprays.

The little girl image I printed from the internet and the Fairy Wings I purchased from Altered Pages. I fussy cut everything out.  I added a little crumpled tissue page inside the jar and then I adhered the little girl, wings (I lightly added Stickles to the wings), moss and lace.

I  cut and adhered Gold Cardstock lid, lace and grim trim to the jar.

Eileen Hull: Party Flower Gift Bags

Hi everyone! I’m here to share my Inspiration Team project this month for Eileen Hull and this month’s theme is party planning. I have had this set of gift bags I had bought at Target in the Dollar spot laying around and thought wouldn’t it be nice to dress them up with some flowers???

So I cut a set of Romance Flowers Diecuts from white cardstock and painted all with watercolors and let dry.

I shaped slightly with a stylus and adhered a button and dew drop to the center and cut three Spring Leaves Diecuts (one for the other gift bag). I shaped both leaves and glued one to the back of the flowers along with twine and gold metallic thread. Once all that was dry I adhered the flower to the corner of the gift bag.

 I cut three sets of Heart and Soul Flower Diecuts out, shaped, glued together and add a button to the center. 

Next I added two Spring Leaves Diecuts and gold metallic thread to the back of the flower.

Now these little gift bags are all dressed up and ready for gift giving!

Bloomin’ Cute Paper Dolly

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick post of a journal page I did in my Zoo Cutie Dori. The inserts for my dori I bought at Michaels for 3.99…I think? They come in a set of three. Since I have a lot scraps of cardstock I figure this will be a great way to use what I have laying around. I started by covering the page with a patterned cardstock.

The frozen Charlotte doll stamp is from Pink Persimmon but the company is no longer in business. I stamped the doll image and fussy cut (I also added a little pink pastel to her cheeks) and then cut a dress for her from the Party Dress Thinlits Set. The bouquet of flowers I cut from a magazine. Of course I had to add some lace, Ric Rac, sequins and Dew Drops to her dress to girly it up. I cut and added a banner to the bottom of the page and from my stash of diecuts I adhered the bloom where you are planted sentiment.
I adhered velvet trim to the edge of the page. I added the top half of a shipping tag and I decided it would be fun to add lace and twine and a couple charms. The silk flower I had received in a swap and I added the felt leaf which was cut from the Buttons, Border and Trim diecut and finished off with two buttons and twine.
Out of everything on this journal page the tag tab is my favorite! Love all the dangly stuff and the hot pink flower. 🙂

Canvas Corp: Chicks and Tea Cups

Hi everyone! I am here to share a project I created for Canvas Corp’s Joy’s of Spring Challenge. We were given the colors below to use as inspiration and asked to think about what would be our joys of Spring? Also we could not do a card or an Easter Egg as our project.


The Tea Cup was cut from the Pink and Ivory Dot Reverse Cardstock and put together according to the instructions that can be found HERE. I wadded up some tissue paper and adhered inside the teacup. This is what I use as a base to glue flowers, moss, etc onto. Also I added lace and flat back pearls to the base of the teacup.


I fussy cut from Spring Garden cardstock the little chicks and painted them with the following Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Sunflower, Italian Sunset, Moss and Bittersweet. I spritzed each color into a separate bowl and watered down before painting onto the chicks.


Once dry I adhered to the tissue paper that is inside the teacup and then added moss to cover the tissue paper.


I punched flowers from the following cardstocks: Yellow and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse and Pink Lemonade and shaped and added a dew drop or sequin to the center of each. I finished off with a little tulle, thread, buttons and more sequins inside of the teacup and around the rim of the cup I added sequin and dew drops.

Flowers and Lace

Hi everyone! I created this card for a magazine call but it wasn’t selected so I thought why not share? 🙂 The base of the card is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ folded. I cut a piece of patterned cardstock slightly smaller than the base and I embossed with the Floral Tapestry embossing folder and crumpled the edges of a 2″ x 5 1/2″  of cardstock. I also lightly inked the edges and over the embossed image with gold ink.

From the vellum I cut an Ornate Frame Diecut and glued it off center of the 2 inch strip of cardstock and I also added three paper banners and a bit of trim on top of the ornate frame diecut. I cut a 2 inch piece of vintage lace and gathered it in the center and tied off to create a bow. Next I made bows in cording and gold metallic thread and glued it along with the lace bow to the vellum diecut. I then layered two cream colored flowers, added leaves I had in my stash, button, Dew Drops and to two pearlized pins to finish off the frame.

I printed from the computer the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment, inked the edges and adhered to the upper corner of the card. The card still looked “off balance” to me so I added a bit of lace, button and dew drops to the bottom corner to finally finish off this card. 
The bright side of this card not being selected for the magazine call is I now have a card ready to give when Mother’s Day rolls around. 🙂

Easy Peasy Flower Planner Paper Clips

Hi everyone!  This month on Eileen Hull’s inspiration team we where each challenged to create a project in 10 minutes or less using one of Eileen’s diecut. Well, let me say I never create something in 10 minutes let a lone in an hour. I am notorious for arranging and rearranging cardstock and embellishments for what seems like hours until I get the look I want.

After thinking and looking at all of my wonderful Eileen Hull diecuts I decided that I would create something useful for my planner and this is what I came up with. I started with Buttons, Border and Trim diecut and different colors of scraps of felt I had on hand.

After cutting out several flowers and leaves I added a little Beacon Adhesives Fabri-Tac to the back of each flower, layering two to three flowers together and adhering to the paper clip and the leaves/lace and Ric Rac to the back of the paper clips.

I finished off with sequins, buttons and Dew Drops and now I can “pretty up” my planner! These where so quick and under 10 minutes to do. I know I will be making more of these.
