There was a Fairy that Lived in a Shoe…

Hi everyone! For over a year now I have participated in Eileen Hull’s monthly Art with Heart Challenge and this month’s I will start as an Inspiration Team  Member for Eileen’s Favorite Fall Things Challenge. Yes, you heard me right!!! I was asked to join and of course I said yes!!!

Since I love fairies I decided to create something fun and whimsical with an autumn twist using the 3D Shoe diecut which I cut from Black Mat Board.

I cut from patterned cardstock another shoe diecut and then adhered to the mat board surface, inked with brown chalk ink and then put together.

I laced and tied the shoe some brown twine.

The image of the girl I found on the Land of Nod blog and the Butterfly Wings are from Altered Pages. I printed both out and then fussy cut and adhered the wings to the back of the girl. Next I stuffed some tissue down into the shoe and glued the girl to the tissue.

I added dried moss and a mini pine cone around the feet of the little fairy to cover up the tissue paper. Also I adhered lace to the tongue of the shoe along with sequin and mini flat back pearls.

I tied off scalloped edge tulle with metallic floss and bunched up a some seam binding and added around the fairy. I cutting up a fall pick of berries and leaves and also added a couple of flowers and dew drops to finish off this adorable shoe. I can foresee me creating more of these shoes for different occasions.

Be sure to check out this month’s Art with Heart Challenge and link up your Favorite Fall Things project for a chance to win the vintage camper diecut that is shown below.

Altered Pages: South Carolina is for Lovers

Hi everyone! I don’t know about you but I do love the beach and I sure do love Folly Beach which is in Charleston, South Carolina. The hubby and I love Folly Beach so much we were married there a couple of years ago. It was the most perfect sunny day in March, out of a not so warm and perfect week of cold, icky and bad weather. But hey…I got my wish of being able to stand barefoot on the beach with the man I love and say our I does. 🙂

Give a Child Wings

Hi everyone! I am here to share a quick project I created for Eileen Hull’s Mixed Media May-hem Challenge for the month of May. I started with a 3″x3″ Burlap Canvas which I sprayed with a combination of the following Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Moss, Bahama Blue and Mint Julip and the outer edges I used a Turquoise paint and then let dry.

I cut a Doily and Leaves (Holiday Greenery diecutfrom the Gypsy Moments: Take Our Breath Away cardstock. Also I used up scraps of Gypsy Moments: Express Yourself cardstock  and from the same  Holiday Greenery diecut I cut flowers. I adhered those to the canvas along with other scraps of Maritime: Coquille(shell) and Sirene(mermaid) cardstock.

On one of the edges I used the Lace diecut to add some vintage charm.

The little child is from the Tinted Babies printable. I fussy cut her out and added wings and antennas for some quirky cuteness. I cut the sentiment from the Gypsy Moments: Novel Thought cardstock, adhered to the corner and then finished off with thread and sequins. Oh and I added a little bit of stickles to the wings.
If you have any questions on this project please let me know.

Also craft room update…I am still working on getting things in order along with now remodeling what will be the craft room bathroom. I am super excited on how everything is looking. 😀

Spring Snow Globe Baby

Hi everyone! I am here to share a very quick post with my Eileen Hull’s Art with Heart Challenge project…with only hours to spare I might add…YIKES!
The bases of my project started with this empty jar that had Prima flowers in it. I thought wouldn’t it be perfect if I could somehow turn it into a snow globe??? After much thought and looking at my different diecuts I thought the Cookie Box die would make a perfect  base for the snow globe. I cut it from Mat Board , grungy looking cardstock, printed the Tinted Babies printable and fussy cut out and then added embellishments. Below is the finished results.

I did center and trace the lid from the bottle on the diecut and then used a box cutter to cut a hole in the center. It fits perfectly and all I did was add a little bit of glue to keep it from coming out of the cookie box.

I also used the Holiday Greenery Die to cut the small flowers and leaves out. It added the perfect touch to the snow globe.

On a side note…I am almost finished with my NEW craft room/studio!!! It has taken almost a month and I am so ready to get all my craft supplies out of boxes and into shelves and cabinets! My parents have helped with the whole process which I am so thankful for them. This morning they brought my drafting table that I used in college to the house. I am loving the fact that I will have a table for my computers, printers and other electronically stuff on one wall and my drafting table will be facing the window so I can look outside for inspiration. 🙂 I think I will also have enough room for a small table  to put in the center of the room in case I want to have friends over to craft with me. 😉 So if you have been wondering why I have been missing in action that is why. 🙂

Altered Pages: A Day at the Beach Mini Album

Hi everyone! I am here to share a mini journal I created for an upcoming trip to the beach. I wanted something that was small and wouldn’t take up much space and that I could use my Instax printer to print off 2″x3″ photos.

For more on how to create this mini please hop on over to the Altered Pages blog and check out my post here!

A Holiday Wish

Hi everyone! Are you ready for Christmas? Me? No! Every year I say I’m going to be ahead of the game so I can enjoy the season but you know how it goes it just gets crazy busy and before you know it Christmas is here. Sigh…
Well, I want to share two quick projects I created using this month’s cosponsor’s Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. Lets get started.

I started with a Christmas card envelope that I messed up. Instead of throwing it away I decided I wanted to use it as a pocket for a journal…the flap is actually on the end of the envelope which will make it easy to put memorabilia in it.
